My husband and I were in the area during lunch and wanted to personally see if the high google reviews were accurate. At first, I was thrown off as I wasn't expecting the cafe to be within a hair salon and boutique. We were about to leave, but then the lady at the counter introduced herself and asked us if it was our first time at Sonnys. She was super friendly so we asked her what she recommended. She said their Philly steak subs were amazing. My husband had the Philly sub and I tried their spicy shrimp tacos. The food arrived quickly and the whole plate looked like a rainbow. The shrimp tacos were really good, but OMG the Philly steak sub was to die for!! I literally stole half of my husband's sandwich and wanted to order another one. If you're ever in the area you need to try their PHILLY STEAK subs! Also, the food was SUPER FRESH and the staff was so KIND and FRIENDLY! I will definitely be back 100%

Intrigued by their near perfect Google reviews and 8000+ IG followers...Came here for takeout at 12pm on a Tuesday. No tuna or quinoa available for their poke bowl, no shrimp available for their shrimp tacos. Salmon poke was mediocre; the salmon was not that fresh. Disappointed given the price point too. A pre-packaged salad from IGA down the street would've been a better option.

I recently had lunch from Sonnys bistro and it was excellent The poke bowl was delicious, fresh and my friends had salads that were terrific,. We live in the West Island and this was delivered to us at our office. I must react to the haters here this is not welcomed to write poor reviews about fresh delicious food as Sonnys would not sell "old food". If you have nothing good to write and are placing ficticious reviews purely to hate then shame on you as Sonnys chef and his team are fantastic and we have yet to be disappointed. Keep doing what you do guys at Sonnys we will be ordering again.

I think this is another of those places that get "miracle reviews". How do you get 5 stars ? Don't want to know. I tried it twice and both times I was more towards disappointed. If i bring 10 of my friends and try a poke and 8 of them say they DON't like it and two are neutral , what does it mean ? Is it good or bad ? I let you guess my opinion. Makes no sense for me that it has so many good reviews...yet the food is ordinary. Maybe not even ordinary. Tastes are different, but we are not talking about myself only. Portions are very generous and very nice presentation. Yet, when it comes to salmon chicken or shrimp you need a magnifier glass to find the meat; there is very little. Prices are more expensive compared to other poke bowls places as well. Verdict : neutral.

Grabbing a bit at a hair salon bistro is probably not the first thing that goes through your mind when you’re hungry. But think again because this is a place you will really enjoy. They make everything in the house and you can taste it. Everything I’ve had from their salads to the DELICIOUS crispy chicken sandwich was so good. The staff is also always friendly and helpful. Try it!

Unfortunately my experience here was not great. Food was disappointing in terms of flavour, and they really fill up the salmon poke with mostly lettuce. Very cheap on the salmon.

I got the Philly steak sandwich, it was amazing. At first when I looked at it I noticed that the ingredients weren’t really distributed equally in between the bread, but when I started eating, I realized each ingredient was handled with care and made with love. If that sandwich only had lettuce and their sauce, it still would have been a 5/5 stars for me.

Delicious!!!! Sorry I don’t have a picture but my belly and eyes couldn’t resist the nice breakfast tht I have. The lady,Mira, was soo kind and great and i recommend tht place after an amazing haircut in the morning!

Very interesting indoor open space layout with multiple businesses. while waiting for my food I found myself wondering around and seeing all the different types of services. I ordered a chicken sandwich with a side of french fries and it was so good! The staff are super nice and professional. Great place to stop in for haircuts and or just to sit down and grab a bite to eat. 10/10

Ordered a Philly Steak and an Italian job sub today for lunch for me and the girlfriend at her behest. One of the best sandwiches we've had in a long time. Great service to go along with a delicious meal. Would definitely recommend you check it out.

Get the chicken club sandwich! You will not regret it. The secret sauce is incredible, and the bread is always so fresh. Everytime I go get my haircut I get it. Love!

Soooo good! Didn’t except anything as you walk in a hair salon… but then the manager (Salima) was super friendly, welcoming, bubbly of energy! and she shared with us what we should try. We went for the poke bowl (salmon) with the Philly Steak sandwich and…oh my god! The best. You do have to not mind a bit of noise as it is part of a hair salon, but other than that… amazing!

Friendly service and great food in this wonderful little bistro. We had the Philly cheese steak and chicken cutlet sandwiches, fantastic! Unusual location, well worth the trip.

I visited this place with my friends after arriving in Montreal. The staff were so kind and accommodating even though we were a pretty big group! The food was yummy and the atmosphere was pretty unique too :)

Very charming. Not at all what we expected though (not in a bad way). It seems like it’s a little bistro for the hair salon so it was a bit strange to order and eat there but we got a big surprise because the smoothies, avocado toast and sandwich were really good. The ladies serving us seem to have an attitude but was ironically very friendly. Unique and cravable!

Amazing, truly hidden gem. The food is fantastic. The chef is wonderful. We had amazing salads, sandwiches and pizza. Our dog was allowed too. We've traveled all over and this is fantastic.

Well worth the visit! The menu is amazing, they truly have something to offer for everyone. The fries, philly steak sandwich, and poke bowl were all to die for and the chef was so welcoming. We will definitely be back :) Edit: glad we came back, they have added more to the menu and are in the process of adding lots of delicious options. Everything is made fresh in house and if you're not sure what to get, the staff always have killer recommendations.

Sonny's has good toasted sandwiches with plenty of additional lunch options. The service is very friendly and there's a nice area to sit and eat. Personally, I would skip the fries. Definitely a good lunch spot overall!

I loved the food at this place. Finally a great place where food is actually healthy and not filled with tons of oil. Since I’m vegetarian, they customized all the food to our needs and we had a great experience. If it was in Vancouver, I’ll come here every week!

Today I tried the poke bowl the Philly cheese and the pizza. The portioning was plenty and I loved that!! The steak is made on demand which you can tell because it’s so fresh! Check it out !!

Such a nice lady at the counter. We got red and green smoothie, tasted great and took a turkey wrap. So fresh 🙌🏽

Great food, smaller seating space but the restaurant was very accommodating of our large group moving tables together. I got a salmon poke bowl to try for the first time which was very good, everyone enjoyed the food and experience.

The BEST steak sandwich in Montreal by far. Sony’s Bistro, located within Deauville Salon on Jean-Talon prepares easily the best and freshest sandwiches I’ve ever eaten in my life. The ingredients were so fresh, and the service and staff were very kind. They took the time to talk me through each and every menu item. The ambience is great and the fact that you can get a haircut in the same building makes this place a weekly spot for me. I highly recommend Sony’s Bistro to anyone in Montreal looking for a hidden gem in the city.
