Explore and get an insight into prehistoric era with a exquisite collection of weapons, sculptures, paintings, paper currency, more than 5000 Indian coins The collection is really amazing. We got to know about the ancient history and we were very happy to see all these things. Especially the coins and the weapons collection was awesome.

A huge collection of historical and current coins & currency worldwide. Also huge collection of historical weapons. There is limited parking space available at the front. So during busy time we have to park somewhere else. Camera or phone is not allowed inside the museum. Very clean and tidy and very well designed interiors.

Ganga Govrdhan Museum is located in Kumbhalgarh. Use our Kumbhalgarh holiday maker tool to add Ganga Govrdhan Museum and other attractions to your Ganga Govrdhan Museum is one of the famous place in Kumbhalgarh. There are so many historical items and this is must visit Museum. Nice maintained and clean Museum Kumbhalgarh vacation plans. This museum was really a surprise. We saw it by chance on our trip from Kumbhalgarh. It has uncountable coins, very well presented and tells more than a history book about the history of that region.W saw bilingual coins from the time of Alexander the Great who obiously also expanded his empire beyond this area, coins with Greek imprints were the last thing we expected to find in India. Should you be in this area, you should not miss this museum

A numismatist's delight, this place is a must visit while at Kumbhalgarh. It has a wonderful collection of ancient coins, both Indian and global. If you are a connoisseur, 3 hours is minimum you should reserve for the place.

Confused is the word I would use. The museum is near the Kumbhalgarh fort and boasts of the "largest coin collection in Asia". The said collection did include some interesting coins from India and the world. Then it had a bunch of medieval weapons and some random stuff like Matryoshka dolls, military medals etc. And some other random stuff. The entry fees is Ra 130 for adults and Rs 50 for children, which is pretty steep for what you get. The shocker is - once you have made the steep climb and a flight of stairs, you are greeted with a sign that asks you to cough up Rs 250 per phone else you are asked to submit your devices. In this time of privacy issues, this is ridiculousness of the highest order. Either you put up the sign right at the ticket counter so that people can decide if they need to leave their phones in their cars or make other arrangements or remove this ghastly condition altogether. The museum curator should probably understand photos on social media can improve their footfall, but it's their wish to choose what to allow and what not to. You can give this place a miss, there is nothing significant to be seen here unless you love coins!!

The ganga govardhan museum is a must visit place for all history lovers as it has coins for around 1000 years in history from around the world. It's a huge collection with coins worth billions and billions of dollars on display. I am sure it will be a treat for everyone visiting it. It's on the way to kumbhalgarh fort and temples. It has a entrace fee of around Rs.130 for elders but it's nothing as compared to the wealth and knowledge you get to see inside. A well worth visit. Don't miss on your trip to Udaipur.

I had never seen such huge collection of coins and currencies before. You can't carry any mobile phone or camera inside i.e no photographs are allowed. I was not allowed to take any handwritten notes as well which I found strange.

Good (Indian, Moghal, Mauryan,...) coin collection with documentation. Little bit of arms, wooden carvings of Indian deities, porcelain, ... Cost 130 add 100 for clicks.

It is a small museum with an appropriate ambience, a private collection by the looks of it, and the entry fees is high. It does not have anything specifically related to Kumbhalgarh, or Rajasthan. The main attraction is the good collection of historical currencies and official papers from the Raj. Other items like sculptures, weapons, and other artefacts offer nothing much of interest. My biggest issue was with the text accompanying the display: full of spelling and grammatical mistakes, and serious errors like mentioning years falling in AD as BC. Having visited many superb museums in the past, I didn’t find this worth the ticket and my time.

Although this place seemed nice at first, the entry fee was quite high at 130 rs for adults above 12 years of age. There was even a camera fee of an exorbitant 250 rs per device. The entry gate was nice but when we entered, there was no one and the lights were not even switched on. The collection was average at best and contained mostly pieces of modern history. There were even a few fake pieces. For example, I am sure that the 10 million years old Neolithic rocks were just found on the side of a random river. There were stupid things like credit cards and modern phones which shouldn't even be in museums. There were even 500 rupees notes which can often be found in people's wallets. You could say that the coin collection was nice but for the price, it is safe to say that you will be ripped off. When someone did come, they wouldn't even switch the lights on. If you want to waste your money, do visit this place. We were left absolutely disgruntled by this joke of a museum. I would not even recommend it to my worst enemy. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

It’s a great place to visit for anyone who loves history. Their collection of coins as well as other historical artefacts is extensive and description written next to each exhibit shows how much research has gone into putting this together. It can easily take you couple of hours to enjoy the entire collection if you read all the information. The place is very well maintained and has parking as well as restrooms for its visitors.

Lovely colection of money related objects, from the very early stages of Indian history to our days. It is presented in a didactic and compelling way, providing a rich overview of the complexity of its subject. It also has a number of complementary displays, including weights and locks (how to measure and safeguard wealth), and weapons (wealth safeguarding at a different level.) Recommended.
