karnak temple is a must if you are in Egypt. Mind blowing. How did they do it nearly 4000 years ago 😳? You get respect for Egyptian civilization but also for humanity. You can hire a tour or have taxis from the airport to different locations in Luxor. It gives freedom to explore at your own pace. Guided tour are nice but most information is available online and unless the guide is really good, most things are very obvious and the very splendour of the place and immensity which will effect you most irrespective of the story behind it.

Karnak Temple is absolutely gorgeous and definitely worth a visit, however I personally would not bother paying extra to see the Mut Temple. There wasn't much to see that you couldn't see elsewhere and the guards were very pushy about tips for opening the gates to the Mut Temple despite having already paid for entry. Also, watch out for the many guards around the temple trying to take you off to areas you're not allowed in. They are very pushy and will expect tips for it. Other than that, it is a beautiful place to visit.

Such a historic place, very well maintained. Interesting for people who wants to travel in past.

Must see in Egypt and Luxor. Amazing architecture and tons of history. Recommend booking a guide we there are many details that are only captured by a specialist. We went during summer and it was really hot, even in the morning. Get there as early as possible to avoid crowds which start to arrive at 8-9am.

Truly huge columns and statues. Be warned when someone offers to make a picture for you or says “I’m official guide” if you’re not planning to spend more money there.

It is impossible to describe this magnificent temple in a few sentences. It is undoubtedly one of the must see places in Egypt. An open air museum of incredible size and full of magnificent details.

Absolutely amazing place and a must see if you visit Egypt, second only to the pyramids! Plan of spending a lot of time there. It is pretty cool at night as well.

Outstanding, this is a days visit in my opinion, it completely depends on what motivates you. The engineering, monuments history and sheer scale of the place moves you. For me it was like unwrapping gifts as I walked around, they just kept coming. A wonderfully spiritual place too. Take a hat, sun cream and plenty of fluids to drink, as it is hot, just enjoy.

Must see! Make sure you allow for (at least) 4-6 h to see the lot. Don't forget to take water & some snacks. Don't let "stuff" take photos of you - they'll ask for money 😢 (as elsewhere in Egypt) The whole place is really beautiful Best time - early morning to avoid the heat

For the uninitiated, there are some stones seen on TV, for those who want to know the greatness of the great civilizations (slavery is not taken into account), this is a time travel with repercussions in the future of what man can do ...

Went to the Sound and Light show in the evening when much cooler. Amazing to see however the audio equipment booth is a lot of pushing and barging to get to the window, then given really old and inferior quality handheld machine that starts in the appropriate language with some varying clarity and timing. Without the audio headphones, it's narrated mostly in German. The lighting to walk around is quite dim and it's not really very interesting or exciting for small children, plus the ground is very uneven so not taking into more consideration for the elderly or those who might need wheelchair ramps.

Mind blowing size and quality. One of the best we saw on our trip. One could spend a day and not see all of it. The better of the two between Luxor and Karnak.

Absolutely awe inspiring, second biggest temple in the world. Don’t waste your time with a tour. Haggle down a taxi and come first thing in the morning. It’s 10 minutes from luxor.

This is just a big empty building with the model of how Karnak looked like and some replicas of some artifacts. Nothing special, but not to showy good entrance that does not overshadows what people are seeing after this.

Although the temple is a one of a kind int whole world of antiquities but The entrance to the biggest temple in the world can be much much better … it is totally not up to the old Egyptian greatness and is not respectful to their great heritage … the place needs to be redesigned completely exactly like the new Grand Egyptian museum … the way every detail is designed and the curation of every piece is very professional their … first there was an international design competition then they got a very professional operator Hassan Allam were his team is making a great job … we are waiting for a much similar renovation to the entrance of this great place

What a terrible experience! Apart from the visual experience, there is no possible way to comprehend the dialogue describing the history of a glorious past , though one one is handed headsets meant to translate but do not work as they probably are as old as the monument itself. Luxor Karnak can keep the Arabic description to themselves as they are not visitor / tourist friendly ( in terms of a non Arabic speaking experience) . The locals however are friendly and enterprising but I would give the " light and sound experience at Karnak temple " a wide berth and designate it as one of my most wasteful experiences of time

Fantastic place to visit with towering columns that have elaborate art and colors. The sight is reasonably spread out and so plan on walking a bit. Almost like a maze and every corner is worth exploring. A typical tour guide does not do justice to this sight. Do some homework and ask questions.....lots to learn and see

Amazing place, so much history. We did a tour with a guide and it was a bit full on, I just wanted to walk around slowly and read the over view and take pictures. Well worth the visit and very well worth the very long track from Hurghada.

Beautiful place to visit. The whole trip to Luxor us worth. Trip to it of course quite harsh and long. Be careful with the hundreds of traders on the street. Take the Nile boat!
