I was intrigued by this place, but was a little apprehensive. We took a leap of faith and signed up for the Friday night delight and had the best time ever while visiting Copenhagen! We met 6 other people that were interesting to talk to, had a fantastic dinner in a family style format, then to top the evening off there was a live band that was fantastic and had us up and dancing! We highly recommend a stop at Absolon!

I am very surprised I was not expecting this. Such a wonderful place, with so many people of all ages and nationalities. Come and eat, and maybe meet a new friend. The food was really good, and we even got a dessert. The drinks you pay for separately at the bar. The concept of the place is, you decide who from the table goes to get the food (8-person table) after your meal you gathered the plates and return them to the bar. Then dessert. It works, and everyone seems happy, so try it if you feel the need to be social and you are hungry. Great concept

Loved the concept of this place — 5 stars just for that! Been here a number of times and enjoyed my stay every single time. Food was good — my favourite was the carrot cake, don’t miss out on that!

One of the best experiences I've ever had during the trip. Every day at 6 PM there is a community dinner at Absalon. Tickets cost 50 Crowns and you should book them earlier. You will be sited with strangers and you will have to share the meal with them. Everybody talks with each other. We were sitting with people from Netherlands and Denmark and Asia and we talk a lot. Fun experience. They have also really good beer (60 Crowns) and you have to try it!

Fantastic experience meeting local people and trying authentic Danish dishes at sensible prices. You must book at least a few days ahead otherwise they will be sold out. This is a must do activity when in Copenhagen!

Absolutely brilliant idea. Why don’t we do this in the UK! The whole evening was joyous we met some new friends shared a great meal and Drank some lovely wine. The whole idea of sitting down with a bunch of strange to the beginning can seem a bit daunting to a traveller but trust me sit down start to break the bread and enjoy each other’s company and have a great evening! I only wish we could sign up for the Britney Spears dance class!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This place is a gem of Copenhagen! From a wide variety of social activities to delicious food offers and engaging kids' activities, they truly offer it all. The latest activity I had the pleasure of attending was dance class at 7:45 AM, the freestyle session was a perfect way to start the day surrounded by committed participants. I also enjoyed an nice and affordable breakfast after ☕️. What sets this place apart is its strong sense of community involvement and the creative and funky range of activities they offer. Highly recommend people to expire it!

Old church converted in a hub fostering good food and creativity. Calendar full of events, such as clay or drawing workshops. Definitely recommending the linoleum workshop 👌🏻

A tremendous experience. Shared dining done right. You sit at long tables and share the meal with people around you. The food is so so good, the price is so so low. The organisors bring humor and sociability in the organisation. This is a concept out of desire and passion, and it shows all around. 100% recommend!

Very colorful and cozy space. They offer a few dishes for lunch and a fixed menu for dinner that needs to be booked online in advanced, both for very good prices. All the food I have tried there was amazing!

A life affirming communal experience possibly even a glimpse of how the future should be if we are ever going to change life on this planet. Delicious food at such a reasonable price in congenial company fills you with joy. I was expecting long queues but was amazed by the efficiency with which the food was served. An experience not to be missed if you are visiting Copenhagen but remember to book first and arrive promptly.

Wonderful environment where you are fed well and get to meet a variety of people from all over the world. Price is so reasonable and if you get there early on a nice day you can sit across the road with a drink in the sunshine. Very grateful for our experience here. Would recommend to anyone visiting Copenhagen.

Lovely open community restaurant in a nice location in Copenhagen. Healthy, simple mostly plant based food. Get a ticket for dinner ahead of time on their webpage.

The perfect place to be alone, or not! Social dinners every night at 18 make this place so welcoming. the food is always amazing and the drinks are incredibly reasonable. It's a lovely space to hangout with lots of social events happening. There's plenty of space to just hangout too. I love this space. Every city needs it (cough Edinburgh cough)

This is an amazing place in Copenhagen. I arrived in time for breakfast and used the communal table as an office for a few hours. There was a great atmosphere with a buzz of conversation throughout the morning. The old church building is a perfect backdrop for community activity and the evident collective spirit is very heartwarming. The food was tasty and affordable and getting to choose my own teapot from a collection on the shelf was a nice touch. Go there and see for yourself!

A wonderful experience sharing communal dinners with strangers in a colourful renovated church setting. The cultural centre hosts beam of community spirit and encourage socialising through exciting activities and delicious food. The meals change every day and you’ll need to book typically two weeks in advance, there is also a bar serving very affordable alcohol. Other activities include pottery, naked art, drag shows and many more!

Everyone at the community dinner was very nice and the food was also amazing. We had Chili sin carne with many side dishes. We even made some new friends. Definitely worth trying even if you’re here only a few days.

It's a shared dinner with a six-table person. All the food is prepared with love and you have the chance to meet people, from Denmark and from other countries. Really recommend it if you love to talk with strangers :)

Great place with many creative events. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. One of my favourite places in Copenhagen. I only wish there would be more vegan food options, especially for the community dinners.

Love the concept. Meet new people. Eat family style with friends old and new. Then after diner, become the table tennis champion or as we did, a little life drawing. Book in advance

It is a must for experience! I wish I was hungry when I arrived and could join the crazy dinner with all people, instead joined with a hit chocolate. It is quite affordable for Kopenhagen as well!

Must visit place in Copehagen: This Church WA bought by owner of Flying Tiger for about 10mil DKK and then remodeled as multipurpose centre. BTW: The best places are on second floor ;)

5 star experience dining in the open with great staff in an friendly atmosphere. The Danish family sharing the table with us were very nice. Food is very cheap and great for its price. But you probably should not be a picky eater if you book before the menu is out. My photo may not look that appetising but it is better than it looks. One can order drinks but you can always drink the free water.

This is a very unusual experience in CPH: some place to share with lot of people including Danish, and a good diner for cheap price. I've been 2 times there I will go again.

Recommend. They organise interesting events. We were attending a “community dinner” - the food was delicious!

Looks and feels like the common eating area of a commune. Everyone was nice and minding their own business, the coffee was good and service friendly. Apparently, you can buy (online, in advance) a dinner meal for DKK60 PP, which sounds like a steal. Must try that some day. If you’re in CPH as a tourist and want to experience local people, this would be a good place to start. I’m gonna go again.

Information not clear. In the ticket it said from 17 to 19.45. We went at 19 and they told us there was no more food. After sending email and asking for a refund or for tickets to go another day, they didn't want to do it. We lost 420dkk.

🫤 The food was tastless, and very expensive. I ate the toastadas and it tasted like the used santa maria taco mix. Tried some of the bruger, it was boring. The lasagna tasted like frozen store bought. The staff was very nice and the location and decoration is also very good.
