It was such a great place! It happened to be cold outside and as we were walking in somebody greeted us promptly and gave us some warm corn broth which is very tasty to warm us up. The drinks, food and service were amazing! We’ve always said it’s our favorite place to go of all the hundreds or possibly thousands of places we’ve ever eaten at, this is our number one place and we haven’t even been back but that’s just how special it was to us, we just went and were like hey this is our favorite place but we will be back soon! We are long overdue for some delicious food and tasty drinks 🍹🥃🍺🍸

Very cool mezcaleria. Great drinks with unique flavors. Decor is very cool and the bar tenders are great. The patio in the back of the bar feels like an escape from the City. Highly recommended.

In LOVE with this bar! Delicious variety of traditional and unique cocktails. With an inviting staff that is happy to teach you all about the mezcals they offer! My family, friends, and I enjoyed the beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. The memories we made here are always coming up, and we plan to go back soon!

Me and a few friends came here for a buddy's bachelor party. He is a big tequila guy and we heard some good stuff about this place. Personally, I abhor tequila, but that isn't why I gave it three stars. The inside is beautiful. We sat out in their little patio/courtyard which was nice. The waitress seemed pleasant enough enough until i tried to order and said something about tequila, to which she quickly shot me a semi-annoyed glance and said "It's Mezzcal, not Tequila." Apparently I committed a Tequila/Mezzcal taboo. So, I just ordered a double of some Mezzcal. So, for me and my 2 buddies at the time, it took about 15-20min to get the drinks. It was about 7:30 and we were the only people in the place at the time. In the end, Mezzcal did not convert me. They both taste like nail polish remover to me. But I didn't give 3 stars because I don't like tequila, that would be dumb. I tried my friends cocktails and we all agreed that they were pretty lackluster. To me, it felt like another trendy downtown bar that was more about appearance that product. However, to be fair, they are still relatively new. Most cocktail bars don't really hit their stride, until year 2 or 3, so this could change.

Gorgeous atmosphere (kind of dark and swanky with candles) and decor; delicious, refreshing drinks (including two good mocktail options); super friendly and attentive bartenders and servers. We look forward to coming back!

I had a great time at Gallo Pelón Mezcaleria, definitely the best bar experience of my life! The staff (Lydia, hopefully the spelling is not to bad) was very helpful and answered all of my questions and taught me a lot about mezcal and tequila! I had the Agua Santa which was amazing, not to spicy but a pleasant heat to it. I also had Siempre and La venenosa raicilla which was a unique and exciting experience, ecpeically La venenosa raicilla, probably the best spirit I've had so far. I would recommend this place to everyone that are interested in good drinks and good times!

Cozy outdoor patio with great ambiance, delicious food with lots of gluten free options (thank you!), very attentive waitstaff, and great drinks for great causes 👍🏻 So happy to have found this little hidden gem, and I look forward to trying the menu downstairs at Centro soon as well!

My favorite bar in Raleigh. The staff is always super friendly, absolutely killer mixologists behind the bar, great ambiance, a spot that is absolutely worth supporting! Cannot recommend the place enough.

Really cool spot for mezcal based cocktails as well as some really creative drinks in general. We had a great time trying some truly inspired libations and chatting with our bartender who was happy to share details about the inspiration and creation process behind their menu. We were too late to get any food but I look forward to visiting again soon!

A mezcaleria?!?! We were stoked when we saw this place. We only went for cocktails, but they were both spot on. A bit pricier but worth it! We sat at the upstairs bar. The jalapeño margarita is AMAZING! Nice outdoor seating as well. Service was wonderful.

Delightful place, upstairs from centero, the bar keep had a very strong understanding of mezcal, and had superb recommendations. The food was good, limited a bit as it was late at night. Will go back.

Staff were really friendly, drinks are amazing! They had cocktails by the pitcher if you have a group which made it really convenient! The outdoor seating is pretty cool if you want a chill environment upstairs. Overall we can’t wait to come back!

Great friendly staff, place is very cute, low lit environment makes it a more lounge and intimate experience. I ordered the Torta (steak) as recommended by our server and it did not disappoint. Steak was perfectly executed, buttery soft and juicy paired with the toasted telera bread, this was the perfect American meat+Mexican Torta combo BOMB.com and drinks were delicious with an insta-worthy appeal, the nacho cheese dip was spicy goodness...hands down would recommend this place
