Hi potential diner! I’m assuming you’re looking up Brewery Bhavana on Google because you’ve heard that they have ~amazing food~ and you‘d like to see what they’re all about for yourself. Well, I’ll save you the trouble of researching their menu and instead I’ll go ahead and fill ya in on their current specials, which include sexual harassment and racial discrimination. Both of these options are available with their fixed menu, however you can easily add a side of ‘not acknowledging accountability’ or ‘lack of apology to our victims’ to your meal, for an additional charge. Honestly, if it were me I’d rather visit any of the other *amazing* restaurants that Downtown Raleigh has to offer (@ Garland, Fiction Kitchen, ETC), because the last place I’d want to dine at would be any restaurant that likes to silence their employees and victims. Enjoy! (If I could leave 0 stars I would).

I don't even know where to start, I loved everything about this place. The ambiance, the servers, the food. Excellent all around. The only complaint I have is we had to go back up to the hostess stand after 15 minutes because no one knew we had been seated and we weren't being helped but our server was awesome And made up for the mix up at the start. The dumplings are AWESOME. Our server recommended the bone marrow item but that's the only one we weren't huge fans of.

This place is cool and pretty swanky. Nice ambiance for a date or a dinner with the girls. Although I didn’t provide pics of the inside of the restaurant, it’s great for photos if you like to post. Presentation of the food is always great. The food is awesome. You have to try scallion pancakes if you go, It’s a must! I usually order a lot of different dumplings. If you choose to do that, I highly recommend ordering no more than two at a time so the food stays hot. If you order too many, everything will get cold faster.

I would rate it 0 stars if I could. The food is average (at best) and the concept is nothing special. Big chains like Panda and PF Chang’s have more interesting general tso’s chicken. If you’re looking for a dinner spot downtown, there are much better options to choose from. Also- Google tagged this restaurant as LGBTQ friendly and it is definitely not. Multiple men have accused the male co-owner of sexual assault and harassment and the other co-owner (his sister) knew about the allegations and did nothing to make the restaurant a safer environment. Several other employees were accused of harassment and racial discrimination. Don’t waste your time and money on a place that protects serial abusers and has food that tastes like NC State’s dining hall’s Asian food.

This place deserves its place in the Raleigh Food Hall of Fame. Delicious, sophisticated, and stylish. We ordered one of everything on the DinSum menu and they were all insanely good. But don’t forget, brewery is in the name! Their beer was EXCELLENT as well. A fantastically well rounded menu over all. Thank you Adam for the fantastic service! It was his second day on the floor but it felt like he was a manager. He was incredibly generous gifting us things as we celebrated graduation and Mother’s Day.

I gave it four stars because of the excellent drinks and service, and of course, the outstanding interior decor. The food was just average, not authentic Chinese dim sum, and a bit pricey( I found it hard to have a dinner under $100 nowadays). The scallion pancakes with bone marrow used to be my fav, but way over salted this time. Mooncakes were very delicious, while the duck egg rolls were sooo bad. It was busy during weekends, yet our server was super friendly and attentive. Wanna try more cocktails next time!

The food here is great! I love the crab fried rice and recommend it as the best thing on the menu. The dim sum menu has many options, including food for vegetarians or people with peanut or shell-fish allergies. However, I do think it’s overpriced for what you get and it’s hard to get a reservation here. Still a nice place for a fancy date night or special celebration. We came here for Father’s Day and I can say we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal! My Dad especially liked the beer menu and ordered the milk stout.

I have been trying to visit this place for at least a year now! A friend and I came in with the intention of getting a drink before having dinner elsewhere. We ended up snagging a seat at the bar, and spent quite a bit of time drinking and hanging out. Friends joined us later and we got dinner. I loved my food, and the cocktails were great. If I counted correctly, it seems that they have 40+ beers on tap?! The atmosphere was magical. I asked the hostess to put our name down for a table so we could eat here too. The only “complaint” I have, is that the hostess did not disclose that we would only get an actual table if someone else with a reservation cancelled us theirs. Not knowing this, we sat at the bar for a very long time before realizing we would not be seated at an actual table and could have been eating dinner at the bar the whole time. Nonetheless, everyone here was friendly and accommodating. I’d love to come back again. I didn’t get the chance to check out their awesome book shop!!!

staff was extremely rude. scoffed when I politely mentioned my order was wrong. came back and threw it down on the table, causing the food to splash all over our table. will not be coming again!

My children and I visited this restaurant on March 11 to celebrate my son‘s birthday. We made reservations earlier in the week. On our way to the restaurant, there was an accident that caused traffic to be backed up, so we called the restaurant to let them know that we would be a few minutes late. Our reservations were for 5:30 PM but because of the traffic issues, we did not arrive until 5:50 PM. They said that they could still accommodate us but we would need to be finished by 7:00 PM because they had another reservation at that time. I was taken aback by this comment but it was my son’s birthday, so I did not question it especially since we were already late for our reservation. The more I thought about it, the more I felt that comment was a bit interesting; I’ve eaten at many many different ratings of restaurant and was never given a timeframe to eat. So that means that even if we were on time at 5:30 PM for our reservation, we would only have 1.5 hours to have a three course meal?? 🤔🧐 In any event, we decided to make the best of the situation and have an enjoyable time anyway. This became easy to do because of our server, Kelly H. She was absolutely exceptional! She was professional, friendly, detail oriented, observant, and took care of our needs in a timely manner and with a beautiful smile. To help expedite everything, we placed our orders for all three courses upfront so that there would be no additional delays. The food was served in a timely manner. The presentation of the food was aesthetically beautiful. The flavors of each dish were superb. Everything was cooked perfectly with the right amount of moisture and great texture. We enjoyed every bit of it! I cannot say enough about how tasty, moist, flavorful, and presentable the whole fish dish was. That was my favorite! The quantity of food for all dishes was also sufficient and comparable to the price paid. Because we were conscious of the time allotment, and it was almost getting to that 7 PM mark, we packed the remaining of our food in a “to go” container to continue our birthday celebration at home. I still have questions about the time allotment of 1.5 hours for 3 people to eat a three course meal; however, the food was definitely worth it and our server made our experience wonderful although we did feel rushed. I would have given this restaurant a 5-star rating if it wasn’t for the time constraints that were placed on us which made us feel rushed and unable to take our time to enjoy the food and the ambience. As a direct result of the great food and our server treating us as valued customers and enhancing our experience at this restaurant, we will visit again.

Brewery Bhavana currently will not honor gift cards purchased from their restaurant. They are only accepting payments through toasttab.com which only has CC options. Was told not to worry gift cards don't expire, we might be able to accept them again in a month or so after we work through our "personal stuff" and you can come inside to complete a carryout purchase.

I’ve heard good things about this restaurant and I finally got the opportunity to go there. I wasn’t disappointed! My wife and I sat at the bar… The service was very attentive and the food was excellent. Can’t ask for more in these times! I was happy to see that employees were wearing masks… It’s a very challenging time for restaurant workers so I applaud everyone for doing a great job! We’ll be back…

The food omg was A1!! Even my leftovers had me excited. Blue fried crab rice and seafood dumplings are a must-try. The ambiance of the place gives off upscale serene vibes. Bar service was amazing and the drinks were so good even though they were crowded.

This is the best restaurant in North Carolina. The problem is that it's not a secret and you're going to struggle to get reservations, but it is so worth it. I like to stick with the small plates because the dumplings and other treats are the best I've ever had. The seafood dumplings are delicate and light, letting the shrimp flavor shine. The dipping sauces are zesty, salty, sour and are perfectly paired with each item. The space is gorgeous. Plants and flowers and hanging lamps -- impeccable styling. And THE BEER. They are just crushing it with their beers. All of them are incredible. I'm a fan of Pithy, the hazy IPA, and they'll have a style you'll enjoy I'm sure. What to get: order many plates of dumplings and other sharable treats, because you and your friends will want a bite of everything! Everyone order a different beer or cocktail and enjoy the variety.

I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant but the books & gift shop area were somewhat gimmicky. The food was average but not authentic and not memorable. The beer selection was solid. We ordered: - seafood dumplings (slightly too sweet) - ginger salad was forgettable - soup dumplings weren't fresh and tasted like it came out of a frozen package from a grocery store - beef with longhorn peppers didn't pack enough flavor and definitely needed salt - Sichuan fish was overcooked but the veggies had nice flavor

Everything about this experience was beautiful. The physical space is simultaneously open and warm, simple and artistic. We were early to our reservation and had the chance to browse the lovely little book and glassware store, and to check out the taproom (the taps themselves are mounted on a huge, stunning slab of granite - unlike anything I’ve ever seen). The food was all fun to eat and delicious; while this might not be the best place to bring, say, a picky eater or strict vegan, the variety of dishes we ordered were almost all excellent and appealed to different members of our party. Would definitely return, maybe for a date night or other special meal (and certainly to go to the taproom by itself).

Great experience with Zack as our server. Our second time in and our method is just to order as much of the dim sum until we are full. Such a cool atmosphere and the food is amazing. The beer is good too - a lot of sours. This is our favorite place to go when we are in Raleigh!

This place is on my Top TEN Gastronomic Faves of the Triangle for a reason. You want elevated Asian, then come to Brewery Bhavana, period. Flavorful, unique, exquisite. It’s a whole vibe, complete with flower shop! The ambiance is sexy and it’s great for date night, night out with friends, business dinner, or any other occasion. There no place like it in the area and service is top notch. My fave was the scallion pancake with ox tail. Just amazing!! Cocktails are made just right and they’ve put a lot of thought into their signature libations. But really, you can’t go wrong with anything here. If you haven’t been, just do yourself a favor and go.

Cozy inviting atmosphere! Went here for our anniversary and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic and the greenbeans are a new favorite of ours! The menu has something for everyone. The books flowers and desserts were fantastic as well. Very busy location and careful with the parking.

The place is upscale therefore it is pricey. They have a large selection of beers on tap. Unfortunately, they don't have any ciders. The food is amazing. It is also family friendly as I've seen kids sit at the bar area. I like the ambience and the decor.

One of the most memorable food experiences I’ve ever had. Our server, Zack was the most thoughtful and genuine server I think I’ve ever had. He walked us through the menu, made us feel instantly comfortable and made fantastic recommendations. 5 stars for the service, THEN the food came and it took it to a whole nother level. Great drinks, great food, impeccable service. Will absolutely come back when we come to town.

Finally had a chance to try dinner at Brewery Bhavana. Nicely decorated and the in-house library is a nice touch. My waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful. The food was everything! The seafood dumplings were delicious and I enjoyed them the most. Very flavorful! The beef and longhorn peppers and vegetable curry puffs were good. I liked that extra rice is complimentary. The sprout beer was also very good. The seating is not comfortable. The chairs a very hard, and narrow. Respectfully, this small seating setting could deter me if I was larger. I wasn't offered desserts. I wish I had proactively looked at the dessert options early on before the check came. Overall, great experience on all levels. I would recommend Brewery Bhavana to friends and family. Perfect for a date, girls' night out, family time, and even solo. I hope to return to try desserts and dim sum options in the future.

When you think of dim sum, you definitely aren’t thinking Raleigh right? Wrong, I was absolutely wrong. This brewery offered some great beer choices and some of the best dumplings I’ve ever had! And I couldn’t stop eating the bone marrow dish that came with the scallion pancakes. Definitely book a table if you want some great Asian cuisine in the South.

Such an amazing place specially for celebrating special occasions. Our server was amazing and brought was free Champagne to celebrate the special occasion. She gave us recommendations and was very attentive the whole night. I loved the scallion pancakes with the bone marrow and its a must try. Can't go wrong with the seafood dumplings and the crab nasi goreng either. Lastly, a big fan of their ambience. Its really tastefully decorated, didn't feel loud or crowded throughout the night even the the place was fully packed!

Go here.. Now. I'm sure it would be equally great with a small group, but go with a larger group 4+ so you can get a few bites of a variety of their great selection. Everything was delicious. Price points were a bit high, but I was happy with everything so I didn't mind in the end. The beers selection and quality were fantastic. Beautiful atmosphere, albeit unusual (bookstore/flowershop/restaurant/brewery.

Fancy ambience, decent service, good food and great beers. Enjoyed their seafood dumplings with a beer. The dumplings were packed with flavor but my only complaint is that the portion size was too small. I'll say this restaurant is a must visit in Raleigh. Will come back!

Great atmosphere and a cool little store in the middle of the restaurant! Awesome taproom area with a ton of selection. This place is always busy so best get a reservation asap. The peking duck was quite pricey but absolutely delicious! Cooked perfectly, with a generous portion, and amazing presentation! The sides with it, I felt, did not do the meal justice. One side, plain dough pieces, are completely without flavor, and there was so much of it! My guess is that it's on purpose to eat with the main dish, while not taking away the duck flavor. Tradition-aside, it's time that item evolved IMO. The scallion pancake app is amazing though. My dog is loving the femur bone the dish came with as I write this! Service was a bit slow for refills, but was friendly & helpful otherwise. This was our first experience. We were slightly underwhelmed, but it had been quite hyped to us for a while so we had some crazy expectations. We'll likely be back, but with the prices, might be a little bit.

Some of the best upscale Chinese food I’ve had. Growing up with these dishes and these were taken to the next level. Side note - waiter tried to correct me when I said char siu bao. I was a little annoyed but didn’t say anything. I grew up with eating it so I think I know how to say it, so maybe he should learn to say it properly. Anyways I ordered the General Tso’s Chicken, the char siu bao buns, and the mooncakes. All were so delicious and the environment is very unique. Loved the ambiance and the decor!

Food, 👍🏻 Service, 👎🏻 Atmosphere, 👎🏻 Making a reservation here was next to impossible. Calling directly to the restaurant (regardless of day/time) you get a recording and directed to book online. Which I did. Having had issues with other on line bookings I called the restaurant to confirm the reservation. No one ever picked up. I left multiple voicemails on various days with no response. Weeks later someone from the restaurant called to confirm and gave me the wrong time I had booked. She looked again and verified I was correct. 15 minutes later someone else from the restaurant called also following up from my voicemail. They went from zero contact to indicated with calls. When we arrived the multiple ladies standing at the hostess stand informed us that the people at our table were still there and had just ordered appetizers and that our table wasn’t ready. Having booked a month in advance and hearing theres no table available wasn’t ideal to say the least. Once confirming we wanted to be seated then (it was 8:30pm) rather than waiting for the other party to leave (who knows how long that would have been) our options were a hightop bistro table in the bar or on the end of a table which already had guests at it. Neither desirable but we went with the later. Our server was scarce throughout the evening. The location of the table made it difficult to have a conversation among ourselves given the surrounding noise from the bar, kitchen, and rest of restaurant. The drinks, once we got them, were delightful and the food outstanding. We ordered several dishes and shared them which worked out great. Be careful of the peppers in the pepper steak dish. They are spicy; (our server never mentioned it prior to ordering but confirmed its their spiciest dish once we ordered and tasted it.)

First visit back in over a year and the food was incredible. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food. The beef and peppers is a new favorite. Can’t go wrong with the dumplings. Also, the espresso martini was the best one I’ve ever had.

Whoever said Microbrewery + Fine Dine can't co-exist were Wrong, they need to visit this gem in Raleigh. Combine that with a bookshop, incredible idea!! Great ambience, delightful beers and outstanding food. Bar was overwhelmingly busy but once they got our orders in food came out super quick. Definitely recommend when in town.

Very very good dim sum! Absolutely loved the soup dumplings, duck egg rolls, and beef and pepper main dish. The cocktails were excellent as well! My only complaint is the prices - the food was definitely more expensive than warranted for the portion size.

Literally so good! We had reservations and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. I ordered beef with longhorn peppers and it was absolutely fantastic. The waitress was very helpful and friendly as well. My only complaint is that when we went (it was July and extremely hot), there was no air conditioning in the building. Honestly though, the food made up for it?

From their Dim Sum (appetizers) to their entrees, there is something for everyone to share and enjoy. Cannot miss pairing one or more of their beers on tap with your order. Impeccable service with a great ambiance. Reservations advised. Parking on deck around the block. Highly recommended

First time here. Expected something different based off the name but I was pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was amazing - very instagramable. The food and beer were out of this world! Amazing food, amazing service, spectacular vibes! We got here around 8pm on a Sunday, grabbed a seat at the bar, ordered a couple cocktails and some items from the dim sum menu. Unique experience, fairly priced for a fine dine and the quality of the food is top notch. We went during their transition of lunch menu to dinner menu, so the options were very limited. But everything we ordered was good esp the chicken curry bao buns were exceptionally good. This place is a unique combination of brewery, dim sums and bookstore. So you can indulge in their craft beers, flavorful dumplings and beautiful ambiance.

Brewery Bhavana is a must-visit for dumpling & Dim Sum lovers. With a wide variety of dumplings to choose from, all of which are delicious, it's hard to pick a favorite. I know this place is rated as one of the top restaurants in Raleigh however being as I’ve traveled around the world this place is just OK. Some of the food can use a little bit of improvement in flavor and texture. Overall, the place is unique for its atmosphere and beer on tap. I believe the best dish that I’ve ordered there, so far, is the fried rice.

There is a reason why Brewery Bhavana is to highly rated. The food is phenomenal. They have the best General TSO chicken in the area and is also my favorite dish there. I had the most amazing experience here tonight. This place is breathtaking. A bookstore, a flower shop, a library, a restaurant and a brewery all in one... I must be dreaming! Never disappointed when I come here. My favorite thing on the menu is the mooncakes. I LOVE how flaky they are with both a sweet and meaty taste. The drinks are always good and it's a pretty chill environment. Not too loud not too quiet. You can still focus on your date / company while taking in the environment and enjoying the food. When I was there, there was a vendor selling hedge handcrafted jewelry. They have a well full of books and nice decor along with lovely waitors/waitresses. Yes, they also have a bar if that's more of your thing. 5 stars for me even at my SECOND visit!

My favorite restaurant in Raleigh. Always amazing food, drinks and service. Scallion pancakes and the Chinese five spice old fashioned are my faves.

Stopped by after seeing a few reviews. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get a seat at the bar, which was quite large. They have a nice variety of beers on tap, plus several interesting cocktails. We ordered a few of the items from their Dim Sum menu. All of them were excellent, especially the baos. The servers were friendly and attentive too. A unique and enjoyable place to eat.

One of the best meals I've had, period. I highly recommend the scallion pancakes. I had seen a lot of hype on the internet calling it "Raleigh's best new restaurant" or "Raleigh's best new brewery." Well, both of those titles piqued my interest so I decided to kill two birds with one stone and take my girlfriend here for dinner. Right choice. The beer lover side of me indulged in unique, delicious house brews that I really felt couldn't be replicated elsewhere. Often times that equals mediocre beer, but in Brewery Bhavana's case, they knocked it out of the park. The food lover side of me indulged in unique, delicious cuisine rooted in Dim Sum, a cultural/food tradition I hadn't explored before, and once again, they knocked it out of the park. Whenever I manage to find my way to Raleigh, it'll be hard to keep away from Brewery Bhavana.

This place is one of a kind. Both beers I had were really good. The sow and till are both relatively light beers and easy to drink. The food looked and smelled amazing and I def want to come back and try it.

Beautiful place. We came for beer. They have 10 permanent taps and 10 rotating ones. Staff was pleasant and all wearing masks. Restrooms are multi-stall women, multi-stall men, and single-stall accessible gender neutral. Their library is so cute.

Can’t say enough nice things about this place! Great ambiance and beer (recommend bright and tangy farmhouse-core beer), fantastic service (Jamie is one the of these best servers on planet earth), food is great & gets to your table only shortly after ordering. There’s tons of variety as well, my husband and I are pescatarian and had no challenges finding multiple options on the menu. Will 100% be returning!

I stopped in for lunch shortly after they opened and was seated right away. My server was very friendly and knowledgeable, and helped me narrow down a few options that I had trouble deciding amongst. I ordered the Pork Ma-Po Tofu, as I was looking for something savory and spicy. It did not disappoint when it came out shortly after. Tons of flavor, just the right amount of heat, and a generous portion. Good food for a reasonable price in an nice setting (there’s also books and flowers for sale here). I’d come back again to try some more of their varied menu.

This location is my preferred of the two mostly because I can go shopping after :P. I went for an early dinner on a Friday and was seated immediately. I was greeted with a menu and a happy hour menu. I would definitely return again!

Had a great time here, the bar and middle book/flower area are great to explore while you wait for your table. All the food was great and the beer was mild but tasty. Server had good suggestions and the food was delicious.
