fun time! beautiful hotel in a convenient location. a bit much on the homeless side, but that's expected in a downtown environment. didn't really interact with the staff much as you can do digital keys and self check ins. elevator scared me when my wife and I first got in because it stopped at level 5 before we had to swipe our key to continue up.

This is a very nice, comfortable hotel with all the up-to-date unique amenities! As you walk into the large beautiful hotel lobby you are greeted by staff there to assist with your luggage or whatever you need. The front desk staff were very nice and pleasant and once you are checked in, they provide you with an brief overview of the hotel and the location of things. I stayed on the 12th floor and my room was very uniquely modern with a comfy king sized bed, a large glassed walk-in shower, a huge television and a nice chase lounge in front of the floor to ceiling windows providing a beautiful view of the city. A very well equipped fitness center and large indoor pool on the 4th floor also with floor to ceiling windows providing a great view as you are working out. Hotel rates are very good to be in the center city and adjoining the convention center however be aware that you must pay for parking at the rate of $12.00 a day.

Great location if you're going to a convention. Definitely recommended using the tunnel between the hotel and convention center as the area has a pan handler problem. They do their best to keep pan handlers out of the lobby. The service was good. The rooms were clean. The valet service was excellent. House keeping came daily. Only knock on the place was our room didn't have a do not disturb sign. 🤷‍♂️

I enjoyed my stay here for the IBMA World of Bluegrass. The rooms were clean and they provided clean towels daily, and allowed jamming to go all night on the jamming floors. It’s so convenient how the hotel is connected by an underground escalator to the convention center. So much fun! Can’t wait to come back next year!

The lobby makes the hotel look like it will be outstanding. The rooms are small and don’t have a microwave or a mini fridge. Other than that it’s amazing. The gym is excellent and so is the bar downstairs the bartenders are really nice and sociable.

We stayed at this very nice hotel but after 10pm everything shutdown including Any kind of hotel store that sold snack. I am diabetic and they told me the closest place to get food was walking distance about a half mile away and hung up. There should be some kind of food available for people in need. They don’t have any working vending machines. It’s weird

A newer or newly renovated property. Up to date rooms with spacious showers. All amenities including on premise Starbucks are open! The concierge lounge is open for breakfast and dinner appetizers with a decent selection of alcohol with friendly staff. The bar and restaurant are well stocked and food and service are on par. Overall a great experience.

A little difficult to get into the place and getting parked was a challenge. But after that everything was wonderful. Staff was excellent, friendly and very competent. Rooms very nice. Location, once there, was great as you can walk safely to a lot of interesting sites, especially the state Capitol building. Overall 4 star all the way.

Spacious hotel with very nice, clean rooms. The Starbucks on site is very convenient for us business travelers. Valet parking was quick and efficient. Very walkable area with tons of great restaurants nearby.

One of the places to stay in Raleigh North Carolina. Room was spacious and good amenities. The hotel is also has a nice and clean feeling. If you are staying over the weekend then you shouldn’t have to use paid parking because there are ample parking spaces on the street. The hotel is also close to restaurants and the state capital. I didn’t go for the buffet breakfast option because it seems a bit expensive and not having much choice.

The Marriott Hotel chain has an excellent reputation that was certainly not met here. The staff need to understand that a majority of their guests have travelled far to arrive at this destination and really should be prepared to do their best to make the check in experience as painless as possible. I arrived at 10:30 pm after travelling since 5am that morning. My reservation was part of a block of rooms held for our group. I gave my name to the hotel clerk only to have him reply there was no reservation under my name. I went on to give him the company name the group was reserved under. Still couldn't find it. I gave him the name of another colleague that had checked in the night before and he refused to contact his room for me. Telling me that I had to call him from my own phone. After I told him that my phone was not set for US calling yet, he finally relented and grudgingly called his room. After not getting an answer, I had to text my colleague and he responded right away from his room. He came down from his room to the front counter and attempted to help me, we still had no luck. Finally the person that booked the reservation had to intervene and showed the clerk the block reservation number. As it turns out, the cause of the confusion was my last name was first and my first name last, which was a Marriott error because the name on the reservation was correct. Needless to say, this was another 45 minutes that I did not need to get wasted like this as I had work to finish before I could go to bed. Should I be impressed? All the staff member had to do was go the extra mile and just do a quick search with my name order reversed. This would have saved the 3 of us the wasted time.

What do you get for $325 per night? You get a room that echos. You get put on a floor with screaming teenagers. You get all of 2 hours of sleep. Call ahead and make sure the indoor pool is actually operational, because we brought out suits only to find out we wouldn't be able to use the amenity listed on the website. Not to mention the $30 to park your car at the hotel you paid $325 for. Checked out before 8 to go home and get some sleep. Don't waste your money.

I am extremely unsatisfied with my stay for a number of reasons. I am not blaming the staff who are left with the bare bones to cover what is needed. -The hotel was booked to capacity but lacks the staff to take proper care of the guests. -I requested my room to be cleaned. First request was made around 1 PM as I saw nobody cleaning my room. Also requested the cleaning staff directly. Kept calling to remind them to please clean. After 4 PM the cleaning staff left. They were still promising me that my room will be cleaned and offered points as compensation. I have points but no time to use my points! I just needed my room cleaned! By 8 PM my room was still not cleaned. Upon request they moved me to a clean room but I had wasted my entire day in a dirty room. -The website advertises Peloton Bikes but fails to say the Peloton Bikes are in a sad state of repair!! No repair was done even though I informed them of the state of the bikes. -Swimming pool and hot tub are not in a working state. This Marriott need to be taken off the Marriott family of Hotels. It gives a bad name to the Marriott Brand.

I was going to give the service less stars, but then thought about it. I shouldn't rate a place based in one experience and one managers inability to plan properly for high volume of guests needing breakfast before attending convention in convention center across street. But that's exactly what happened. My eggs benedicts took 40 minutes and got to me raw inside at their lobby restaurant "Rye" which is super overpriced. Walk Down the street to other good eateries. Other than that, superb property, great bar and bartenders. Great tap beer selection and as the name refers to it, great selection of rye whiskey. Awesome spacious rooms. Clean, newer property with underground tunnel to convention center.

Very nice hotel, classy rooms, wonderful hotel. The valet was extremely polite and efficient. Starbucks and a good sized restaurant with amazing salmon lunch meal. Good size and quantity for conference rooms.

The room is great but is noise outside is like sleeping inside an turbine. Beds are amazing and they have a good location in Raleigh. But you can enjoy the jacuzzi and indoor pool.

I didn't even stay here and I'm writing to say thank you! Thank you to the man at the front desk, TIM!!!!! Tim was so helpful in getting the information I needed to surprise my wife with a gift. I ordered some wine and chocolate and had it sent to her room. Tim made sure to hand-deliver it HIMSELF! Thank you, Tim, for helping this guy all the way over in Seattle. Your willingness to go above and beyond was greatly appreciated.

I stayed only for the day, but it was enough to know that I like this property and will be back!

Marriott City Center has been my Raleigh "go to" for both personnel and professional travel for many years. The location is perfect, the bar is great, and the rooms are nice size and always clean and well appointed - HOWEVER, BE WARNED - you need to bring your own toiletries (even for overnight stays) because the products (shampoo, soap, lotion, etc.) they have changed to are awful!! The smell is extremely off-putting and lingers, causing the room, your clothes, the linens all to smell very, very bad. This will not keep me from returning, but the toiletries provided will not be opened until they make a change. Marriott - please switch back!!

Loved my stay! Staff was AMAZING! My reservation was incorrect (wrong date) and despite having a full house, they found the last room for me! Housekeeping went above and beyond as well! Hotel is incredibly clean and everyone was super friendly! Will definitely go back!

My family and I had a wonderful experience. The stellar customer service that we received by Travis (I believe that was his name)at the front desk was amazing! Because if his excellent service my family and I will stay at the Raleigh Marriott City Center every time we visit . The room was spacious and super clean. The location was also close and walkable to downtown area attractions.

Extremely happy with our stay here! They have on-site laundry(coin operated), an excellent fitness center, a gorgeous pool, and the staff was nice as could be! The restaurant inside serves amazing food, but that's a different review. The Starbucks being inside is also a huge bonus, and the very short walking distance to the convention center was very convenient! Very clean and modern hotel, a good number of doordash choices nearby, and super reasonably priced. I would say the only things that could make this hotel better is microwaves in the rooms, and maybe a 24 hour mini convenience store on site (with just small things like entry drinks, snacks, laundry detergent etc) but them not having those is not enough of a downside for me to take any points off. Great hotel, will definitely return!

The Marriott Hotel, as it stands, is overpriced for what it offers. The only benefit to staying here was the location and proximity to the Convention Center. The room my friends requested was specifically supposed to have two beds in it but what we got only had one. They were going to leave us with only one until we pressed the issue and made it clear we were not paying to sleep on the floor, at which point we got another bed. In terms of the room set up, there's really not much to say. The beds were clean, the AC worked, and the unit was fine. What I will say is that I wish it would have had a refrigerator of some sort. It's a minor gripe that did not affect me personally but I honestly wish it could have been there. That's essentially all I have to say. If you're planning on going to any sort of convention or event here, I would recommend coming here if you don't have any cheaper alternatives. If it's between staying with a buddy or paying out of pocket here, I'm staying with the friend.

It's nice to stay in a full service hotel again! I love getting my room a serviced and taking advantage of the concierge lounge. The lady in the concierge lounge in the morning for breakfast is the friendliest person in the world. She remembers you and sincerely cares.

Came on a Saturday for a one night kid away. Room was nice, modern and clean. Hotel staff was nice and very prompt in checking us in. Hotel lobby seemed quiet at check in, however got quite busy and loud as the night went on. Shower was oversized which was awesome and bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

We used this hotel for one of our room block during our wedding. They were amazing from the point of contact (Anna) to the front desk, everyone was fantastic. Our guests said staff was professional and helpful on directions for out of towners. We were pleased they were able to accommodate our welcome packages for our guests. We would highly recommend this hotel if you're coming to Raleigh.

Rooms are very nice and modern, pillows a little soft for my taste, but just preference. Staff was very helpful and when my light burnt out they fixed it within minutes. Great location as well.

Beautiful lobby and restaurant and good rooms

Not worth the rate. The rooms are renovated which are nicer, but the bed looks like a fold out, the pillows are soft, so there’s no support whatsoever, and there were problems with the tv. Stay at the residence inn next door if you insist on staying at a Marriott.

Local great. Stopped up sink in bath not good and the valet can take 40 mins to retrieve your car.

  • 4/5 Jeff N. 1 year ago on Google
Wish they had continental breakfast. Also, while I was here they were replacing the carpet in the tunnel so they shut down access to the convention center requiring everyone to walk outside when they could have replaced the carpet in a better managed form that would have prevented shutting down the tunnel. Was not impressed with this.

Great hotel in Raleigh's downtown. Excellent location and ez in-out to all the beltway highways and interstate. Comtemporary hotel and comfortable rooms. Walls are thin as Angel Hair Pasta, but the other accompaniments make up for it. Huge Shout-Out to the Valet Manager on 3/11 and 3/12. This guy is a customer service maestro and his crew to boot. Awesome job, guys! Thank you and we will be back.

We stay here annually for a trade show and the rooms are decorated nicely, the staff is friendly and courteous, and the location is prime for the convention center! Great walking distance to several local eateries and a comedy club also.

Fantastic location if you're staying in Raleigh. I like the personal touch when you go into the rooms and the TV has your name on it and you can set your preferences. The staff is friendly and the conference rooms are wonderful for business meetings

Visited a friend who came to town. Great central location, with secure adjacent indoor parking. Enjoyed the restuarant for breakfast. Excellent menu choices and an attentive staff. At reasonable pricing. They excel at hosting conferences. The conference rooms are large, quiet and elegant.

  • 4/5 Casey D. 2 years ago on Google
Pretty standard downtown Marriott hotel. Rooms were clean and of average size, though the bathrooms seemed a little dated. As a Titanium there wasn't a lot of recognition and no noteworthy room upgrade, though I believe there was an event at the time so this may have been a factor. Valet and self park options are available, though self park payment is done though a third-party garage attached to the same garage used for valet.
