The
Marriott
Hotel
chain
has
an
excellent
reputation
that
was
certainly
not
met
here.
The
staff
need
to
understand
that
a
majority
of
their
guests
have
travelled
far
to
arrive
at
this
destination
and
really
should
be
prepared
to
do
their
best
to
make
the
check
in
experience
as
painless
as
possible.
I
arrived
at
10:30
pm
after
travelling
since
5am
that
morning.
My
reservation
was
part
of
a
block
of
rooms
held
for
our
group.
I
gave
my
name
to
the
hotel
clerk
only
to
have
him
reply
there
was
no
reservation
under
my
name.
I
went
on
to
give
him
the
company
name
the
group
was
reserved
under.
Still
couldn't
find
it.
I
gave
him
the
name
of
another
colleague
that
had
checked
in
the
night
before
and
he
refused
to
contact
his
room
for
me.
Telling
me
that
I
had
to
call
him
from
my
own
phone.
After
I
told
him
that
my
phone
was
not
set
for
US
calling
yet,
he
finally
relented
and
grudgingly
called
his
room.
After
not
getting
an
answer,
I
had
to
text
my
colleague
and
he
responded
right
away
from
his
room.
He
came
down
from
his
room
to
the
front
counter
and
attempted
to
help
me,
we
still
had
no
luck.
Finally
the
person
that
booked
the
reservation
had
to
intervene
and
showed
the
clerk
the
block
reservation
number.
As
it
turns
out,
the
cause
of
the
confusion
was
my
last
name
was
first
and
my
first
name
last,
which
was
a
Marriott
error
because
the
name
on
the
reservation
was
correct.
Needless
to
say,
this
was
another
45
minutes
that
I
did
not
need
to
get
wasted
like
this
as
I
had
work
to
finish
before
I
could
go
to
bed.
Should
I
be
impressed?
All
the
staff
member
had
to
do
was
go
the
extra
mile
and
just
do
a
quick
search
with
my
name
order
reversed.
This
would
have
saved
the
3
of
us
the
wasted
time.
