1st time, great vibe, all areas clean and every thing was super easy and quick to move around the hotel. Room beds and pillows are good with new fixtures in the bathroom. Everything remolded newly and well. It's really small but feels secluded and quiet. The bar tender knows the area really well and makes one of the best espresso martini in the whole area. It's a most go to just for the drinks and patios area but would easily stay in the rooms again.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. The lounge/bar area is fantastic! Aesthetically pleasing with very comfortable seats and setup. Great drinks and snacks! But most importantly the service is superb! Because it’s a smaller venue you get really personalized service and interactions. They were so accommodating when my boyfriend contracted a GI bug, offering us a later checkout and supplies to make him feel better. The bed was very comfortable too. I will always stay here whenever I come back to Raleigh!

Had a mini staycaction and chose The Longleaf for it's vintage vibe and convenient walking times to Glenwood South AND downtown proper. Rooms are well appointed, clean and spacious. Beds were super comfortable and the staff was warm and welcoming.

I can’t say enough great things about amazing hotel. Everything was just right, the staff, the cleanliness, the ambience and the location! I had a request to get rose petals in our room and Tim, who I assume is the owner, took great care of us! He went out of his way to pick up the petals for us and was very responsive, via email. We loved this hotel. We will definitely be back and spread the word on how great this place was!

Loved this cute boutique hotel and the excellent customer service. Hotel is spotless and welcoming. Loved the lobby and cute little cocktail bar. Fun history and good renovation of a old school style motel, hate when place’s renovate and lose all sense of the original vibe. No basic grey paint here, place has some life.

Very clean, lovely rooms, with comfortable beds. I enjoyed the vibe here, a modern take of the original travelodge from the 1960's. The staff was great, and I enjoyed the outdoor sitting area and music being played. The cocktails we had were delicious. A convenient 10-20 minute walk to the downtown areas and many fabulous eateries. I would give the property 5 stars except for the very loud people that woke us up in the middle of the night on both nights. The walls are very thin, and as our room was on the end where the lounge is you could here the music and people talking. So unless you are a heavy sleeper, I would suggest being at the other end of the property to avoid the noise. In hindsight I should have borrowed one of the white noise machines that they offer to use. Other than this I would highly recommend this hotel.

We love, love, love this hotel. If you are going to Raleigh and want to stay at a cool place in the midst of the action and don't want to spend a fortune, The Longleaf Hotel is the place to be. First of all it has a cool midcentury vibe. Secondly it is clean and well maintained. And most importantly, everyone we have dealt with has been warm and welcoming. There is a cool retro lounge and great outdoor space to hang. You are within easy walking distance of dowtown museums, restaurants, and the capitol. Word of caution if you have difficulty with stairs there is no elevator so ask for a ground room, you won't be disappointed.

One of my favorite neighborhood spots to stop by. The lounge is a great place to grab a cocktail and their snack menu is genius. Who else serves ruffles with French onion dip? Def get the deviled eggs when you go.

This hotel deserves to be way more than a “2 Star” hotel. This is one of the cleanest properties I’ve ever been to, and this is coming from a clean freak! The staff was super nice and welcoming. Free parking in the middle of downtown is a huge plus! The hotel bar is also super cool and I had one of the best espresso martinis ever. My only minor annoyance is you can hear loud cars and people talking in the hallways, but it wasn’t enough to turn me off from the hotel. Honestly, we’ll come back here for any future trips to Raleigh because our stay was just that good!

Very neat and clean place. The check in staff was really helpful. The rooms are nicely designed, new, and have cool shower gels. The bed is huge and very comfortable. Very close to downtown. Walkable. To note: if you’re bringing a dog there is a $50 fee per stay.

It is a old motel renovated into a boutique hotel with updated amenities but with glimpse of the past maintained. With a bar area in the lobby, which is not much of a lobby since there is barely a front desk, it is charming and cozy. Front desk staff is sort of available around the clock (a person sitting there behind the locked door) but otherwise the facility is very quiet. The room is quite small (as probably was the case as an old motel) and the bed wasn’t entirely comfortable. The bathroom is very small compared to some of the new hotels. It is somewhat convenient located although walking around at night is a bit strange since very few people are out and about in the area given that it is dense area with many high rise residential buildings. It is a novelty hotel so one is likely to overpay a little. I’m glad I experienced its charm but I’m not sure it is a place I’d choose to stay again next time I’m in Raleigh.

This was such a unique property and experience. Everything was lovely. I greatly enjoy the efforts that were put into converting an old motel into a hotel instead of destroying it. The staff was great, the room accommodations were perfect and intentional. The location was ideal and walkable to local downtown sites. It is near a train track and the road traffic might be considered loud to sensitive sleepers but my family and I were unbothered. They do provide complimentary sound machines at the front desk if you would like one. Also A+ to the double black out shades that didn’t ruin my room with morning light when I didn’t want it to. Not to mention the lounge is such a nice quaint addition that I feel like most hotels are really missing out on. Had a lovely drink I was able to bring back to my room and the bartender even made lemonades for my kids. We’ll be back Longleaf, until next time!

My fiancé and stayed here back in November for our anniversary, we loved it! We took the chance staying somewhere small and never been to before, and I'm so happy we did. The staff was amazing, we were able check in early which was lovely. Our room was easy to find and conveniently it was also close to where we parked. Room was clean and I loved the vintage with modern twist in the decor. The robes fit us both which was surprising because robes dont usually fit us, we are plus size individuals. Also enjoyed being in walking distance to many restaurants and other attractions. It was a little noisy outside our window with being on the groundfloor but it wasn't too bad. We didn't get to visit the lounge but for sure will on our next visit!

Loved this hotel. The lounge was great with a nice bourbon selection. I wish I had more time to enjoy the property but it was a short visit. Room was very comfortable. The USB speaker in the room was well used as I was getting ready to go to a concert during my stay. Easy to get in and out. Easy parking.

The Longleaf is great! I stayed there for my best friend's wedding weekend and it was so delightful! Savannah was working most mornings and she was so helpful and accommodating. She also remembered not only the bridal party's names, but our coffee orders. She'd hand us our delicious oat milk vanilla lattes with our initials without even having to ask :)

The staff was excellent. You can tell a lot about a hotel when the front desk, bartenders, and cleaning staff are all fun, engaging, helpful and looking out for you. Everyone was great. Although on the edge of downtown, we experienced ease of access, quiet, and great service. The bar/coffee area is fun, well done, and an atmosphere where you are likely to reach out and talk to others. Most engaging. And c’mon, when is the last time you had a room #6? What coolness. We enjoyed our stay and will return here in the future. Well done.

Absolutely gorgeous & absolutely amazing staff!! Extremely thankful that they helped us with an early check-in after a vrbo scam left us stranded! We felt very safe walking around the area which is pretty close to a lot of wonderful places. It's quiet at night AND the beds are super comfy. I never sleep well away from home but consistently slept extremely well. Absolutely love all of the branding and carefully curated visuals. Looking forward to making this our regular spot for our Raleigh visits!! ♡

I wish I stayed longer than one night! The hotel is well situated in downtown which allows you to walk to many places. The room was very well cleaned and stocked with a bunch of amenities, including a bathrobe. Even the Bluetooth speaker in the room was a pleasant surprise. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was quite. The lounge in the lobby was really nice with many different drink and snack options. I hate it was raining as the outdoor patio was something I heard a lot about.

Courtney and jane have been fantastic hosts during our stay and not bad on the eyes ❤️ I would 10/10 recommend this hotel and having a nightcap to end your night with the fun staff/atmosphere. From the affordable drinks to the great taste in music it's been a one of a kind experience, come join the fun! (Savanah on the other hand...)

Beautiful hotel, very nice, the beds were very clean & SUPER comfy! Even the shades/curtains give you options to how much light you want in your room, while maintaining privacy. Everything smells nice & fresh without being overwhelming. The outlets are accessible for ease of charging your phone/laptop/etc, the TV is easy to use. The wine bar has the cutest patio! Very easy walk to the amphitheatre, bars, restaurants & more. Staff was really friendly. Would absolutely seek out this hotel if I visit Raleigh again.

Former Motel that recent got a Retro chic makeover. Professional and well-trained staff that were helpful. Lovely lounge and Patio wonderfully decorated for the season. Music was hip. Quality trimmings and extras make this feel more like a hotel. Bed was comfortable and quiet. Black out curtain was great. Toilet seat needed to be repaired. Housekeeping staff were unusually persistent - knocking at the door. Overall good experience!

Truly exceptional experience here at The Longleaf Hotel! Beginning with Anna, a charming, knowledgeable asset, who was helpful and delightful during our entire visit, our room was immaculately clean (I own a vacation rental cleaning business, btw). Sheets, pillows, comforter were pristine, so fresh and very new. The bathroom could not have been cleaner as well. What a great retro decor as well... comfort meets vintage here in an ideal melange. Lobby and bar had cherry woodworking my husband adored, the full length scalloped couch in bar was so impressive. So much to applaud. Especially Anna. What a rare gem she is... Many thanks for a special stay! Angela Frazier Tim Doyen P.S. Courtney was fantastic - wish she had been working the previous evening at bar.

The staff was very accommodating and the location was walking distance to hot spots, upscale eateries, and a fantastic nightlife. Not to mention, the in-hotel bar was always full of thirsty trendsetters. The bar is a great way to start the evening or wrap it up!

I'm local and stopped in for a drink. The delightfully retro atmosphere is comfy and niche. Details like the 1950's deviled egg platters (to serve the bar snack of deviled eggs!) adds to the ambience and fun. Highly recommend for an intimate drink. Lots of great outdoor seating. Also a bike share spot right out front.

I have been stalking this hotel since its renovation, I guess you could call it a green renovation, boy is it impressive! I am a fan of vintage, especially vintage brought back to life in a tasteful manner with somewhat of a modern twist, this is exactly how I would describe the vibe here. They have a lovely bar area off of the lobby, it feels alive and quaint all at the same time. The bartender are a class act and one in particular even dressed the part, I was impressed. They also have a wonderful outdoor patio, where the old pool was, its a very comfortable place to sit and relax. They make an excellent "old fashioned", they also have a good selection of wine. I plan on returning for a stay cation sometime in the future, I only wish they would have considered keeping the pool. Cheers!

Such a great place to stay! Location is perfect, great staff working to help you at any given moment! What i liked the most is the hole concept of the hotel, also the best price you will find in downtown Raleigh, the bar it’s an excellent option or hang or grab a beer or wine just a few steps out of your room! Thank you so much for creating such an unique experience for us.

Great location, nice bar with outdoor seating but the rooms are very small. Enjoyed the body wash and the snacks in the rooms.

This was a nice surprise. We had no idea what to expect. The lounge offered a nice bar with indoor seating. What was most surprising was the amount of outdoor patio seating which was also partially covered. The drinks were well made and the service was excellent. We will definitely be returning for more libations.

I was recently in Raleigh to see Lord Huron at Red Hat and needed a dog friendly hotel. Wow, this place was almost as good as the concert! Reminds me of the Thunderbird Motel in Savannah, where my husband and I stayed on our wedding trip last year. Beautiful rooms, beautiful lobby and bar/patio, beautiful everything! And we could walk to anyplace downtown. Not to mention the reasonable room rates. I highly recommend. Exceptionally clean, too. My only recommendation would be more green space for the pupsters. Long Leaf will definitely be my go-to when visiting Raleigh.

This hotel was amazing! The staff was very polite and helpful, the location is perfect, the rooms are spotless and have everything you might need. I’ve stayed in lots of different hotels throughout the country and Longleaf is in my top 5!

A chic little treasure! The Longleaf Hotel was an amazing, intimate hotel for the weekend of our son's wedding. The rooms are spacious - we got a suite (has 2 bathrooms and a large living room) so we could socialize and have cocktails with out of town guests at our leisure. The staff was so accommodating and attentive. I highly recommend checking this place out. AND the patio outside - definitely a "place to be" in Raleigh!

Stayed one night for a concert. Cool place. I like the theme, it's kinda 50's/60's retro. The room was nice, bathroom/shower was up to date, clean. Beds comfy. Staff super friendly and helpful. I asked if there was somewhere close enough to walk to for lunch and they gave me a 3 page booklet they had typed up with all the nearby restaurants, with the description of each one and the distance! Very well thought out and a nice touch when you've travelled all day and are tired. They do have a bar/lounge area as well but I got back too late to try it.

What a hidden gem! This hotel is so chic and understated. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, they even allowed us to store our bags with them after check out so we could go explore the Museum of Natural Science before our flight. The bar makes great cocktails, the outdoor patio area is just lovely, and downtown Raleigh was just a short walk away. We loved it!!

Adorable and extremely clean rooms!! I loved the aesthetic here so much. The lounge and bar area is lovely as well and the complimentary coffee is excellent. Location is ideal. We had a very pleasant stay and cannot recommend enough!

I just got off the phone with one of the managers, Jamie, who was amazing to work with. Unfortunately I have not been able to stay there due to my schedule and had to cancel Valentine's arrangements. I will say that Jamie was amazing to work with and allowing me to be flexible on my stay without penalizing me like many other big chain hotels would do. I truly look forward to staying at this hip place sooner than later when my schedule isn't so crummy.

As a female solo traveler passing through Raleigh, I was highly cautious of where I wanted to book a night to stay in the city and read so many great reviews about Longleaf that I had a good feeling about the place. Before I even left for Raleigh, I got a text asking for any accommodation requests and they fulfilled my request right then and there! Jamie greeted me during check in and if sunshine and happiness was in the form of a person, I would see that as Jamie; she was truly the nicest and comfortable person I could’ve met on my first night in a new city and made me feel comfortable to come down to the lounge later on to grab a quick bite (which is not really in my comfort zone when I’m alone). Also the bathroom is to die for and highly recommend purchasing the body wash, you won’t regret it. 100/10 experience, would definitely stay again if I’m back in Raleigh!

Longleaf hotel was fantastic. Super clean, comfy beds, and extremely friendly staff - the manager is our new bff although she doesn't know it! Longleaf is also the perfect location to walk to great restaurants (they will give you a long list of recommendations) and it has free parking. When we arrived the lobby bar was hopping . It has a great vibe for drinks in the evening or free coffee in the morning with a nice patio too. They do have a few small nibbles for purchase. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back if we return to Raleigh!

  • 5/5 Kristina S. 1 year ago on Google
Our stay at the Longleaf was great! The parking was easily accessible and the hotel is located in the heart of downtown. It was very reasonably priced, especially compared to neighboring hotels! The bed was very cozy, the bathroom was SUPER clean, the shower had a decent water pressure, and the toiletries were very high quality for hotel toiletries. We would definitely stay here again next time we're back in Raleigh!

My first visit to the Long Leaf was awesome! The place itself is small and has the feel of a roadside motel, but located in the middle of downtown Raleigh. The lady at the front desk was warm, inviting and helpful. Our double room was small, but I prefer to describe it as cozy and extremely clean. The mini fridge is filled with drinks and snack at an extra charge, but they are very moderately priced for convenience. Attached to the hotel is a lounge with a full bar and an outdoor patio. The bartender played excellent music and the drink selection was very cool. The beds and pillows were soft and inviting after a late night show. If I ever need to spend the night in downtown Raleigh, The Long Leaf will be my first choice for lodging due to the friendliness of staff, location, price and overall cozy feel.

My husband and I had a block of rooms at the Longleaf for our wedding. My husband and I stayed here along with many of our family members and friends. We all had a wonderful time! I cannot say enough positive things about our stay. The staff was so kind and helpful prior to our wedding, and we greatly appreciated their help. Additionally, the style and design of the hotel was fascinating! The soap/shampoo/conditioner/lotion in the bathroom was lovely. I actually miss washing my hair with their shampoo. Following our afternoon wedding, we spent the evening with our friends outside on the Longleaf's patio. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating. We had such a special night. In the morning, the Longleaf provides DELICIOUS complimentary coffee. Although I have family in the area to stay with, I am waiting for an excuse to stay at the Longleaf again! It comes with my highest recommendation!

I didn’t know what to expect because it was only $130 a night but honestly, I’m amazed. The outside is beautiful, and the inside is so nice. They have everything in the room you could ask for including Advil, snacks, etc. It is up to date and trendy! The people at the front desk and restaurant are so people friendly - amazing customer service. They have complimentary coffee from 6-noon, and a patio/food from 2-10! Can’t say enough good things about this place.

My son and daughter-in-law stayed here for a weekend couple months ago and fell in love with the place. So we met them here for this weekend and we too fell in love with the place. It's a old style motel converted with modern conveniences but still the old style look. Very clean need and just absolutely fantastic. You're in walking distance of the North Carolina science museum, North Carolina art museum, and the Capitol building for Raleigh. Lot of shopping and everything very close by. Great place to spend a 3-day weekend just to relax, socialize, and shop. We will definitely be back again.

This seems like an ideal location to have a great relaxed time in the vicinity of downtown. The outside space is inviting and open to the public even if you aren't staying. I didn't stay in any rooms and only visited their bar. You walk in to the beautiful aroma of coffee. However, like many, the services were lacking and the manager was far from inviting or accommodating. Sorry we caught you at a horrible time that you had to serve brown girls.

The hotel is very cool. Love the retro architecture. The staff are very friendly. We had an issue with the cleaning staff coming into the room despite our having the do not disturb sign on the door. The manager handled it perfectly. We would def go back. Oh, and the restaurant across the street is fabulous.
