Great place. $5 membership because NC alcohol rules. $5 day game pass to keep the game library updated. Dry erase grid game tables. Food and drinks!!

Fantastic! Owner seems great, drinks were delish. Looking forward to go again! Great variety of board games. Liked that there were no kids.

Really cool gaming, d&d, tabletop bar. Was a little surprised they had a fee for the use of their games and cards. But still definitely worth a visit

Fantastic place for board games, D&D, and anything in-between. I met a fantastic community of gamers of all ages and characters. The owners make sure that everybody feels comfortable - if there are any bad apples, they are tossed out. The food is passable, but the drinks are good (and creative/nerdy)! Pretty good selection of board games, from casual to intense.

Mini family reunion on a rainy Friday night. Our crowd of 7 played several different board games. Great variety of options to choose from. Drinks were great; again, a good range of options… something for everyone! We will really enjoy this membership in the days to come. Thanks to the crew for the friendly service and advice on game options for our crowd.

If you're a tabletop gamer of any kind, I highly recommend checking out Side Quest Game Lounge & Bar! The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff are friendly, and it's perfect for gaming. Huge selection of tabletop games to borrow and play with your group, grid-lined dry erase marker tables, and various patron run gaming sessions nightly (check-out the on-line schedule), make it a fun stop for any and all. Plus, the food is tasty, the service is great, and the drink selection is pretty wide and creative. Also, there is pay parking via app close by, if you cannot find street parking. Grab some friends or come join a nightly group... completely worth experiencing either way!

Great selection of games. Two copies of Wingspan! Pieces are in labeled bags, which makes set up and clean up very simple and fun. Thanks for everything

This place is a fun little nerd heaven downtown. $5 per person to use a table and you can play whatever you want from their great game selection for as long as you want (at least as long as we wanted). Great drink selection, great staff, great atmosphere. Their butterbeer was really good. It's not a large place so it's possible you go there and all the tables are taken, but they have a bar you can chill at and it also looked like you can reserve a table, but don't quote me on that. We went on a Saturday around 430pm and stayed for like 2 hours and there was always at least one big table free.

This is a really cool spot tucked away downtown. They have a massive Boardgame library to checkout and a good selection of drinks and snacks. If you're looking for a spot to hang with friends and try some games or get a D&D night in, Side Quest is an excellent place to do it!

We found this place near our hotel last night…our plans fell through last-minute, and we ended up here almost completely by accident. I’m 44 years old, and have never played Yahtzee. Not only did we get that fixed last night, but I found my new favorite place in Raleigh. The vibe is low-key, nobody is in your bubble, and the service is just perfect…I never felt like I was being pursued, but the minute we needed something, we were being taken care of. I didn’t review the food because I didn’t eat, but what I saw looked great. The boss Ciara (or Sierra) glanced at me approvingly from her comfortably curled-up position on her bed behind the bar. This is a very affordable, very welcoming place. Try to book a table ahead of time if you know you’re going, as this place doesn’t suffer from a lack of popularity. We’ll be back for sure ❤️

This is such a great addition to Raleigh! We reserved a table for our D&D session and can’t wait to come back. The owner and staff are so friendly. Awesome selection of games, fun atmosphere and really decently priced drinks.

Very cool spot for games, beer, and simple food options. First time I walked in, I spent the first 10 minutes just looking around at all the cool nerd and fandom collectibles. Very well setup, clean, and organized with a great selection of games on the shelves. Owner obviously runs the place well, and is extremely friendly and easy going. I highly recommend Side Quest even if you aren't a hardcore gamer - there's something for every type. I will definitely be coming back to Side Quest.

Great place! Nice welcoming vibes, cool games, good'n'fun food menu. Very nice place to relax with pals, learn how to play board games that don't suck, and get a little drunk at the same time. Could use some more high-proof whiskey's, but still, an A+ endeavor.

Been meaning to make it out here but I have two kids and it’s not the easiest feat. We got a day without the kiddos and managed to stumble in, and the atmosphere was perfection. Got to try the butter beer which was delicious and enjoyed a game. It was a great change from the normal bar scene, and didn’t have the club/nightlife vibes.

Staff was amazing and don't tell them but they do NOT charge enough for their food and drinks Standard bar food with a twist like Taco Pizza which was surprisingly good Pretty good beer wine and liquor selection for it's size GREAT adult gamer/tabletop place to meet and play with friends or just jump in a game with the friendly nerds already there

I've been here a few times but absolutely love it. I wish this place existed when I lived in downtown Raleigh, we would have been a regular for sure. The drinks are amazing and the owner is super friendly. Great selection of games--perfect for trying out a game before you buy it for your own collection.

My time at Side Quest was really quick, we had just stopped in to look at the place, but the owner came up to us and was chatting with us and answering every question we had! It's a really cool place, definitely a great location to do a D&D night at. It was clean, well kept, and the bar looked very stocked! Highly recommend!

This place has a great food and drink selection, everything I have had is fantastic. Staff is always amazing, super friendly and really cool! However, to me it is not a great place to play board games with friends. I have come twice, and each time it is incredibly loud. Maybe for some that is not a problem. I don't mind some noise--it makes things feel active and exciting. But I have to yell to explain rules/play the game with my friends because it's so loud. It's exhausting, distracting, and frustrating. I went on a night they had trivia as well, which made the noise experience even worse (I had checked to make sure no events were going on to avoid this, but guess I missed it somehow because I did not know it was happening). The trivia seemed to clash with the other tables playing games. I may come here to join exclusively in events like trivia, or just talk to people/eat drink. But not to meet friends/other people for board games.

We had a great time playing games here, they have a huge selection and I love that the tables are big enough to accommodate a game with a lot of pieces! The drinks were also great, my only complaint is that it smells like burnt oil from the fried food they serve. Overall, a really great spot to spend some time and play some games

Side Quest has good food and drinks, and a great setting for playing games and hanging out with my friends, but what really sets it apart is the staff. The friendly and accommodating team that run the place have a ton of community events and monthly activities, including free classes for those that want to learn, for example, how to be a better D&D DM. It's easy—and free!—to reserve a table if you're worried that it's going to be a busy night, and there's plenty of parking nearby, much of it free.

Came here for a party, had the place rented out. Service was awesome, the bartender was slinging cocktails just as fast as we could drink em. They made signature cocktails for the party, had personalized graphics on the tvs for the party and everyone mingled and played games and had cake. It was a blast. I'd come here even just to do a casual living room hangout with friends with the added bonus of a bartender. If you want to play a game you don't own and get some friends together, they own it. Get em together here and have some fun.

We spent a few hours here on a couple of days during GalaxyCon weekend as we waited for our kids! Excellent selection of games to play, for a very reasonable price, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back if we are in the area.

This place is great to meet up with friends in a judgement free area. Played my first game of Magic here with some other casual player and it was a blast. Employees are fun and helpful. I look forward to seeing them again
