We really enjoyed strolling through Kakiat Park. The grounds are really well maintained, there is lots of parking, parking is completely free, additionally there are park benches, tables, and grills. I would highly recommend this park for hiking and or walking.

Lots of wildlife and a much larger river than expected. Great hike to the top with many vistas along the route. The Mahwah river is impressive and feels like you must be in the Wild West rather than a few minutes from NYC.

Good amount of parking. There is a nice picnic area on the way to that trails. There is also a dog park. I started on the mountain trail, but stopped halfway through because it was slippery and covered with leaves. I then took the Old Mill trail. It was a flat, clear trail that runs next to the Mahwah River. Very nice walk with a pretty view. At the end of the trail was an dilapidated old mill. Then, the trail loops around and meets up with the Kakiat trail. I was at the park for about an hour and fifteen minutes. I highly recommend.

Really beautiful, clean park! Ample parking, lots of shade to sit & hang out, cute little stream to check out. We did the orange trail, be prepared as this is not a "hike" as much as actual rock climbing. We are not experienced climbers nor hikers but it is was manageable for us. It is very steep, lots of loose rock, but the views are worth it if you climb some boulders. Really beautiful view from a few different areas and the trails were marked well. We did about 5 miles round-trip & it was a wonderful day. We'd rate the climb as difficult but the experience was worth it.

Great beautiful park. Free parking . Dog park . Bathrooms . Picnic tables. 3 hiking trails . I did the Orange mountain trail. It goes up a Rocky trail to a beautiful Vista outlook atop a rock. Bring good shoes . It's quite and peaceful.

Great park. There are several path options. None are too difficult. Great for any activity, a date, some fun with kids, or even a photo shoot. Go all the way up for the most amazing view. Also bring bathing suits for the beautiful lakes and streams. Enjoy the trip!

This park is an excellent destination for Suffern residents looking to, literally, “take a hike”, yet stay local. The trails are relatively clear and easy to follow (for better or for worse), the incline isn't too intense, if taken at a healthy pace, and the view from the top is rather magnificent.

Very pleasant for a quick walk / hike to reconnect with nature. There's family friendly flat trails along a river as well as various levels of incline if you want some exercise, including a short trail to a lookout point revealing the NYC skyline. Very very cool.

Beautiful place to hike with the family. Multiple paths to choose from. Be careful that you dont follow the white triail to Harriman Park

Easy access, beautiful hiking by the stream or up the mountain (439 feet up from the parking lot, you can see Manhattan 27 miles away). Can be very busy afternoons and weekends.
