Our
checkin
was
on
the
same
day
as
Amavasya,
and
unfortunately,
when
we
arrived
around
11
am,
the
entire
inner
part
of
Rameswaram
close
to
the
temple
was
barricaded.
We
had
to
wait
outside
the
barricade
till
4
pm
to
enter
since
the
hotel
is
close
to
the
temple
and
was
inside
the
barricaded
area.
Some
people
were
leaving
their
vehicles
and
walking
on
foot
with
luggage
to
cross
the
barricade.
Plus
points:
-
Close
to
the
temple
and
beach
(walking
distance).
It
is
walking
distance
even
from
APJ
Abdul
Kalam's
house
and
market
area.
-
Clean
rooms
with
sea
and
temple
view
-
Courteous
staff
-
Solar
geysers
-
Good
North
Indian
food
Cons:
-
No
complementary
breakfast.
A
buffet
breakfast
option
is
available,
but
it's
paid
(140
Rs
per
person).
-
Hot
milk
is
not
available
in
room
service,
so
parents
with
babies/
children
should
carry
a
flask
to
get
it
filled
outside
-
High
rates
of
inhouse
restaurant
(Vitamin
R).
I
guess
it's
because
of
the
cost
of
procuring
and
transporting
ingredients
to
the
island
but
still
quite
high.
A
normal
tiffin
meal
outside
would
cost
you
less
than
200
Rs
but
in
the
in-house
restaurant,
normal
rice,
dal,
vegetable
will
drive
up
the
food
bill
beyond
300
Rs.
