Sri Sathyagirinatha Perumal temple is in the base of the hillock of Thirumayam fort, about 20 kms from Pudukkottai. Sri Thirumeyyar, (Lord Vishnu) in sayanakolam with Brahma, Garuda and others, beautifully rock carved, large and devine in the sanctum. Sri Sathyamurthy Perumal in sitting posture is in another sannidhi. Sri Ujjivani Thaayaar and Sri Rama with Sri Sita and Sri Lakshmana in seperate sannidhi. Divine Sri Gajalakshmi in the inner pragaram. This 1300 years old temple is one of the 108 Divya Desams.

wow unexpected structure, only some of temples in tamilnadu. definitely mind-blowing.. people and devoties must visit. temple is amazing 100 times what i am expecting... temple in the center of puthukkottai to kaaraikkudi/thiruppathur, bus facilities good. walking distance from bus stop thirumayam fort.. unexpected structure and swami silaikal and octoganal kulam looks very beautiful under rock fort. sivan and perumal temple in one place of compound. its one of kudaivarai kovil in tamilnadu around few. but lack facilities and services due to unfamiliar among people. no crowd always.. need to famous among people/world such great temple.

A very beautiful rock cut 1000yr Vishnu temple with beautiful sculptures, a pond located near Pudukottai, Tamilnadu. The temple premises, including the pond needs good maintainence and upkeep.

This is the 43rd Divyadesam, not 106th. A Carved on the slopes of Thirumayam hill with many pillars etc intricately carved. A long history and the best is the bass relief of Ranganatha perumal with his consorts and all the rishis and devathas beautifully carved. Priest took pains to explain it fully. Lots of deities, Rama with consort, Hanuman, other deities are available. Beautiful temple tank with carved steps. One of the must visit Divya desams
