Plunging 322 feet down the Subarnarekha River, Hundru Falls is a majestic gem in Jharkhand, India. Cascading amidst lush forests, it's the 34th highest waterfall in the country, transforming into a breathtaking sight during the monsoon

This is a well known and very famous tourist spot of Jharkhand State. Around 46 kilometers from Ranchi. It is the highest waterfalls of Jharkhand. The view is awesome. You have to go down 750 stairs from the gate to reach the view point. You can also bath in the flowing water of falls. Place surrounded by the beauty of nature. Must visit this place. Just keep sufficient time in hand to spend a quality moment.

Amazing view of the waterfall from the viewpoint. The waterfall is created on the course of the Subarnarekha River and known as one of the most popular tourist destinations of the city (Ranchi). The sound of the falling mountain water (320 feet) is just amazing. One has to go down many steps to enjoy its beauty. It is a great holiday destination.

Hundru Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. Located around 35 km from the city center, it is a popular spot for picnics, day trips, and weekend getaways. The waterfall is located on the Subarnarekha River and falls from a height of 98 meters. It is a majestic sight to behold, especially during the monsoon season when the water flow is at its peak. 1.The best time to visit Hundru Falls is during the monsoon season (July to September) when the water flow is at its peak. 2. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, as you will need to walk down and up a flight of 750 steps.

One of the best beautiful waterfalls of jharkhand tourism. You have to go through approx 750- 800 stairs to reach there. Food and water available there. There are many shops. There are also many picnic spots. A children's park. A jeep line is also available there for those who want more adventure. Love the place

Highest waterfall of Ranchi. The Falls are world famous and it is really an awesome sight to see the four streams plunging to the depth of the cliffs . The best time would be after monsoons when rivers are full . During pre monsoon months, though water flow is less, there is more chance for peaceful enjoyment of scenery , without crowds. Road to this place is beautiful during monsoon. There is ample space inside to sit and enjoy the view. One restaurant is also available for lunch. Ideal time to visit the waterfall would be from august to march

Good place to hangout. The journey to get to the waterfall is as interesting as the destination. There are ~750 semi-sloping steps to the waterfall which make it fun for folks to bond over. The waterfalls themselves are pretty impressive (350 ft high). Guess there'd be more volume in the rainy seasons as compared to when I went. Prudent to carry water bottles on the "climb" (there are small shacks on the way to purchase but you might choose not to based on your hygiene considerations).

Down..down ..down..1..2..3..534 stairs, down ..down..down... another 130 boulder stairs...30 minutes downward journey... everybody's restriction( as I have little ones with me)...And now You are just infront of me. Hundru, you are the 2nd highest waterfall in Jharkhand and 34th in India..Your mother Subarnarekha created you with great subtlety..But these are just facts. What is truly important is your Aristocracy...just watching you make me cry...You Are Sooo Beautiful. Yes, you are hard to find for the elders and children, yes a little distraction can cause accident, yes the upward journey is just unbearable.. BUT You Are the masterpiece of creation.

Very good water falls, It's slippery and danger selfie zones r there more. Too many people in winter come and visit. Less people follow the mask restrictions. Lots of shops are there nearby.all the food contains mustard oil. Most people do picnic here. The entree fee is Rs.60 per person. There is zip line trip above the falls too.

Waterfall is beautiful but no other amenities not even proper toilet. No eateries. There are 745 steps but a very easy climb even oldies can do it easily. It's advisable to take the staircase route only the view is best only in this route the locals will suggest you other routes don't take that. We did it in little rain but still it was fine.

This one is a famous fall near Ranchi, Jharkhand. The thing I should first mention that you have to to go down 750 steps to see the falls. I am a handicapped person with 83% disability but it could never hold me back. So I took this 750 steps down and everybody was telling me not to proceed further because on the way back I have to to climb 750 steps but I didn't pay heed to them. Then I realised that I have taken a really coma really good decision. It was wonderful. The water was not coming down with a Majestic look. It was really a marvelous scene. I took so many photographs. But one thing I must mention that authority has not taken any step to keep the place easily approachable by the Tourists. On the way back I climbed those 750 steps in a way I should tell everybody to follow I climbed 100 steps and rested for 5 to 10 minutes. Then again I started climbing. It took some time but very easily I could cover these steps.

Nature's lovely place 👌👌 most beautiful waterfall in ranchi according to me , There are 745 steps to go down and climb up,.Going down till the waterfall is not much problem but climbing back 745 stairs to go back is little difficult. Not recommended for very old people. But the waterfall view is worth it,very very beautiful. You should must try zip lining to see most terrific birds eye view of the fall .Very enjoyable day it would be if you come to visit.

Scenic waterfall with lot of water. There are 2 approaches to the waterfall. If you are coming from Sikidri side, the main road terminates at a round-about. There is a trail from this point to the top of the waterfall. Not much of a view from here. Just before the roundabout, the road turns to the right and there is a bridge. If you take this road, it will take you to the main entrance of the waterfall. Here you will get food stalls and public toilet. It gets crowded during holidays. 2-3km before the round-about, there is a turn-off on the left (when coming from Sikidri). It is an old and narrow road which winds down, and brings you to the access-point for the foot of the waterfall. Here you can see a small building. And there is proper car parking near it. From here you have to climb up(20-30steps), cross a wall and then climb down(about 100steps) to the area where the stream starts. There is a trail to walk right up to the foot of the waterfall, but it is amidst rocks and is uneven. You have to pack your food and carry. There are some small eating joints on the way (about 10km from the waterfall). There is a govt/electricity board guest house with bedroom and attached toilet.

People coming to the city make sure that they visit the fall located on the Ranchi-Purulia Road during their stay in the city. The Hundru Falls Ranchi is created on the course of the Subarnarekha River, where is falls from a height of 320 feet creating the highest water falls of the state.

Beautiful place . ❤️ It's one of the famous waterfalls of jharkhand. A common tourist place. The fall is so beautiful ,you can stay there for hours and even take a bath but be careful coz it's quite slippery especially during the rainy season. We went during the rainy season itself, have to say the view was so mesmerizing!! Have fun 😊

I recommend people to visit this place in the month of August when there is the maximum amount of water displacement. You can have a side view of the falls from the viewpoints which are a little distance from the ticket counter. To reach the foot of the waterfall you've to climb down approximately 736 stairs. You'll get small shops of snacks at the foot of the waterfalls.

Hundru waterfall offers a nice scenic view of natural mountains, the waterfall itself and the surrounding area. located approx 50km away from main ranchi , the fall attracts tourist from different parts of India. Though the fall didn't seem to have enough water coz we visited the place in winters. I would suggest you to go during rainy season. More you can see from the pictures uploaded.

U have to book auto or Ola etc to reach there...bike person's are also there so if u are alone or have one companion then u can book them( they are very cunning make everything clear means money they demand extra money when they drop you in return.I booked the bike for 500 but he took 550 after long conversation so be careful)....Other things are good , you will find some shops there for refreshment ...10 rupy entry fees and 15 for parking .

Hundru waterfalls is located about 25km away from the city of Ranchi. Tourists can easily reach here by road. The waterfalls is on the majestic river Swarnarekha, which falls at a height of about 250 feet, making a spectacular view. It is a major tourist destination in Ranchi, people love to visit this place round the year. The fall is surrounded by lush green environment which makes tourists love this place. Various types of local handicrafts are sold by people here. But there is a sad reality that tourists who came here to enjoy the beauty of nature makes the place dirty by throwing plastics plates, bottles and various other garbage all over the falls. Hope this can be changed some day.

One of the best waterfall came across, but this 1 star is for waste pollution all around. People cook food or bring cooked food and throw all their waste in and around fall. People spit here and there and make this beautiful place worst. I request govt. Of jharkhand to provide dustbin every 100 mtr and take strict action to keep such place clean. My first reaction after seeing waterfall was just wow but very next moment seeing waste every where turned that stunning place into poor condition.

The lush green scenic view and the pathway to fall will spell bound you for sure. Steps down to fall is a bit fatiguing but the view down there will take all your woes. There is a zipline you can enjoy, charges are 300 rs (September 2021) for up and down hill. Amazing wood carving and artifacts are made out of bamboo and a special type of mushroom are made and sold by locals. Please support them so that the unique art won't extinct.

This place is very beautiful. People often come here for doing picnic. Enough space for keeping cars and cooking . This waterfalls is superb. You can hear the sound of falling water at a long distance . But the most irritating of all these is there you can hardly find out bathroom for taking bath . Urinals are not so neat and clean . Otherwise , this tourist spot is beautiful to spend time with family and friends.

There is a place at the top of the falls which need an hour long hike to reach so they do not allow people to cross the checkpoint after 4pm. There is an alternative spot at the bottom of the falls which is accessible and worth it. We took a local guy looking to earn a few bucks as a guide.

Visited the place during the month of October..it was a sunny day..don't forget to take hat to protect from sunlight...the scenic beauty is one that attracts people..I liked the place ...went to the thermal power side...a local small dhaba is there where u can get food, but ensure to give them enough time to prepare ... as it is the lower side of the water fall u can enjoy bathing there being careful...if u are interested to do photography prefer early morning time...

Nice place to visit. You will have to go down around 400 steps to experience the falls. Have your family pic shot by professional over there. Beautifully worked crafted models by locals. Will get to buy a walking stick at 10/- only.

Highest waterfall in Jharkhand State. It is one of the most popular tourist destination of the Jharkhand state. It is the 34th highest waterfall in India. Hundru waterfall located in Ranchi District. This fall is 46 km away from Ranchi City. Trekking is little bit dangerous here. Must visit place..

  • 4/5 Kumar M. 2 years ago on Google
Good. Only approx 40km from main city of Ranchi. Untouched from commercialization. But not properly maintained. Water of fall nearby needs to be cleaned. You get hand made utensils and art made of wood. In returning you can have chicken, fish, mutton cooked with woods made in traditional style. That too in cheap prices. Really nice for a day out.

This place is beautiful but the entry/exit time sucks. We reached the place at 4:10pm and we're refused to enter but there are few other entry points that requires not so Authorization which I would suggest you can avoid as we have. Rest Place was wonderful, less crowded and picturesque atmosphere. There are pictures which were taken from that other gate which you have to avoid.

On the course of the Subarnarekha River where it falls from a height of 98 metres (322 ft) creating one of the highest water falls in the state. The spectacular scene of water fall it height has been described as a sight to behold. The different formations of rock due to the erosion by the constantly falling of water have added to the beauty of the place.

Hundru fall is good but have to board and deboard 750 steps. Moreover make sure to park outside as there is no fix parking after paying the four wheeler fee. Also don't miss the picnic spot at the entry of the fall.

If you love nature. You should visit. Once you reach to car parking at hundru waterfall, there are two places to reach waterfall. One with around 750 steps (thats the point where water falls. Other is like slop where anybody can go easily and have wonderful photos of nature. Loved it alot

Hundru Falls is formed by Subarnarekha River located in Ranchi district of Jharkhand, India. It’s height is 322 ft which just seems massive! Visited there at May’2022 and I was amazed watching the show. Among the waterfalls in India this is one of the best!

You have to walk a long way to reach the waterfalls. The road is Good though and stairs are also there. Water falls can only be seen during rainy seasons. Other time, there is not much water. Toilets are there and food stalls are also there. For lunch, you have to order 1hour early, and the hotels will cook your meal. Overall a good place to travel. Some adventure sports are also available.

Nice and beautiful waterfall but the hardest part is going down to the falls, and then climbing up the same 755+ stairs to reach from where you started. Otherwise the surrounding hills and rocks are wonderful.

Had a great experience with friends. Nice waterfall on the outskirts of Ranchi. You can go for a picnic as well and also need to go down around 600 steps

Hundru falls is one of the popular tourist places in Ranchi. Time to visit the falls 8am to 4 pm. Approximately 750 stairs are there to get the best view of the falls. But if anyone is unable to go down they can also see the falls from other parts of the mountain. Best time to visit in Rainy season. The parking fee is 30 and the entry fee is 10/person. Food stalls are present rice chicken or veg thali is available.

Nice and clean place... breathtaking view..Not safe to swim or play in the water...few places on the way which has refreshments like lemon water, soft drinks and sprouted chana..since it's a no plastic place, the usual snack packets are not available

We visited the place while travelling from netarhat to ranchi. It's near ranchi and the roads are great so do add it as a stop if you come to jharkhand. You've to go down 700steps to reach the base of the waterfall but you can visit the top of the falls by climbing a few steps.

  • 5/5 Vineet K. 6 months ago on Google
The waterfall itself is about 1000 steps down which can be tiring on the way back up. However you will find small stalls along the way where you can grab a sattu drink or a lemonade to re-energize

  • 5/5 ANURAG P. 6 months ago on Google
It's an amazing spot for a holiday or picnic. Water falling from the mountain, sounds great. You have to go down Approx 700+ steps for this amazing and mesmerizing experience... Local vendors are available there for snacks and cool-drinks or meals too. but prefer pre-purchased snacks because of the excess price. You can enjoy Rope-Way here and a children's park is also there. And almost forgot to say, a small but beautiful temple is there too. So don't read the reviews just visit and enjoy the peaceful environment...

Hundru waterfalls is an extremely beautiful place with such a lovely and picturesque scenery. The area which provides a direct view of the waterfalls is set on an altitude. Beware of venturing out towards the very end of rocks as one might trip off the edges. Safety limits are written everywhere. A trip to this place provides such a break from the pollution of the city. The air is so clean and the water so clear and cool! This waterfalls is just one of a kind! There is another way which takes you almost 700 steps down, to experience the waterfalls from below. Choose the path which suits you best, or, better, experience the waterfalls both the ways!

Easily reachable as roads leading here are in best condition. Need to buy parking ticket and individual per person ticket. The stairs are major pain in the as* , i stopped counting after 400. Small eateries are available on stairs for refreshment.
