The Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (IIM Ranchi) is a public business school located in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. IIM Ranchi was established at Ranchi on July 6, 2010, under the 11th Five Year Plan. The Institute has been set up to serve the increasing demand for quality managers in the corporate world, whilst striving for excellence and working towards its core value of inclusive growth for the greater good. Inaugurated on 6 July 2010, IIM Ranchi offers two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM), four-year Fellowship Programme and Executive Programmes The 11th Five-Year Plan, endorsed by the National Development Council in December 2007, envisaged the establishment of six new IIMs. IIM Ranchi, like all IIMs, is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Human Resources Development, government of India. The institute is free to design its own curriculum and recruit faculty members. In April 2011, Union Minister Kapil Sibal announced that the government is mulling enhancement of the autonomy of IIMs by allowing them to select the director and the chairman of Board of Directors. IIM Ranchi is amongst the six new IIMs that were approved by the Union Cabinet on 27 August 2009. M. J. Xavier was the founding director of the institute.

The location is pretty far from the main academic campus and the city. It is located within a gated community. The flats as well as the rooms are sparsely furnished. The food served is okayish, but can be improved.

Good place but mentainance not satisfying

Very good environment here...here all facilities are available like temple, playground, walking area, park This is Peaceful society .here almost rich person are living.

We have 2 blocks, Block A and Block D allocated for the boys (both juniors and seniors) and different blocks for girls but all within the same area. Additionally we use few other blocks for room allocation. It is one of the most beautiful, calm places to spend your 2 years of MBA. Not having a campus hostel has its own advantages! The hostel never sleeps, be it during exams or otherwise. It provides all facilities a student can need during his/her stay there.

A few kilometer away from booty more a very peaceful and happening society in khelgaown.

The place is really awesome. Just the quality of old flats aren't so gud but same cannot be said for the new one very gud ambience for morning and evening walks gates are open for every one which seems to be an issue becoz outsiders could also enter without any permission

Being an IIM Ranchi student, I can share my own experience of staying in this beautiful residence complex. Night walks and the serene calmness adds to the beautiful green campus beauty all around. :)

Nice green surroundings, Happening place for youngsters. Mix of residential society and hostel is blended well.

I have not seen the hostel of IIM. Housing colonies quarters interior was good but maintenance is very poor.
