Utterly magical and enchanting oak savanna grasslands and rolling hills. Awesome sunsets, lots of great trails that wild through gently undulating hills. This land is also very historic and was occupied by the Niesenan tribe and other tribes. Bordered on the north by Deer Creek, there are several other creeks that flow through the area. Gold miners, early pioneer settlers, the Donners, Sutter, cattle ranchers and cowboys all have left their mark and you can feel them today. Check it out!

Me and my family had the best time of are lives. Sadly we never made it to are destination, but the way there was an adventure 😂 when we first hit the bridge, that looks like a walkway, there was a random dog that was guarding the house next to it. The dog was well trained in guarding the house but was stupid, the dog would not let us get across the bridge it was keep getting right in front of the car, we almost hit the dog like 10 times before getting across the bridge. When we got across the bridge there was a cow breastfeeding her little ones. I brought my dogs with me, and there was no problems. If you come in the winter it will be really muddy. It was muddy for us. We had to go up a big hill which was super fun.

Great local nature reserve. The hike times are very limited to special times so check the website before making a trip.

Great experience, will definitely be going back. The walk was long, the scenery was amazing, the path was clear, and best of all it is absolutely clean beautiful nature. They do an amazing job keeping the place nice and clean, they offer cute little ispy games for the kids to enjoy as they go on their little hike🥰 first time hiking and I absolutely loved it

This park is a great example of what can happen when people truly care about nature. You have to sign up on their website in advance to hike. The preserve is only open on Saturdays by their appointments. It is well worth planning for. So peaceful and lovely.

Beautiful Relaxing Hike through a nature preserve. Our 3 year old was able to handle the 4.5 loop. Rolling hills, green meadows, 2 ponds and shady oaks make for a nice family hiking day.

The self guided hike is a pleasant and easy 3.5 mile loop surrounded by rolling hills, beautiful wildflowers, and native blue oaks. It is open to the public on Saturdays February-May and October-November for limited hours. A good idea to check their website for specifics before heading over. Definitely worth the short drive from Sacramento if you're looking for a beautiful, local morning hike.
