Dont forget to get sunglasses and a hat. Also bring somefresh water. Boat ride may take 2-3 hours. They will take you in specific route which covers almost all the highlights. Going through Kadolana tunnel is amazing. Sometime your boat might stuck in shallow water but boat rider knows to deal with it. Water is full of crocs and dangerous to get in to the water. Theres a small temple located at a mini island of the river. You can stay for a while at that place during the journey. Also you can go for the fish therapy during this boat ride but you will have to pay a small amount additionally for that.
