Detailed Description: Ambience: 4⭐ Value of money: 4⭐ Choices: 4 ⭐ Taste: 3 ⭐ I would say Millstone Family Restaurant is a typical American family restaurant that provides burgers 🍔, pancake 🥞, sandwich 🥪, waffle 🧇, steak 🥩, and some other dishes. Talking about the ambience of it, I find the restaurant is cozy and warm. The server is friendly and respectful. In terms of value of money, I ordered the buffalo 🦬 burger with fries and it costs around $13. Generally, it is not expensive at all. In regards to choices, since Millstone is providing a variety of dishes, from burgers all the way to waffles. Inevitably, the choices is definitely worth 4⭐. You can have waffle or pancake anytime, which provides a lot of convenience. Talking about the tastes, I personally find that the tastes of the burgers I have is fulfilling my expectations for a dish. Given it is a family restaurant, the quality of dishes are slightly more than adequate. All in all, great service, good food, nice vibe!

Bad takeout experience. Nothing great about the dishes except the free salad. The onion rings were not crispy at all and very dry. The walleye was overcooked and no seasoning. The beef liver and onion was just ok. So disappointed.

It's just okay. The staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean. Clean bathrooms. Buffet = salad bar. They don't do buffets. Salad bar was clean and good selections. Loved that they had true brewed iced tea inst ad of fountain or bottle.

Absolutely delicious food! Home cooked food at a very reasonable price. Breakfast was amazing! Waffles that took up the whole plate! Our waitress was amazing. She went above and beyond, getting us everything we needed. Even a crayon to rub over bricks at Storybook Island! I would tell anyone to go there. Next time I'm in town, this will be #1 on my list!

It's a home-cooking type of restaurant. Not fancy. Clean. Comfortable. The food is delicious. I liked the salad bar and will get it again. The staff is great, attentive, but not intrusive, friendly and nice. Reasonable prices, too. It's my favorite restaurant now.

We're passing through Rapid City and stopped in to have breakfast this morning. There was no wait time to get a table. I ordered the Ham & Cheese Skillet with scrambled eggs and white toast. The food was served quickly and was hot and fresh. The only thing not completely right was that I got eggs over easy instead of scrambled. I also found a crunchy eggshell halfway through my meal, which didn't taste very good. Everything else was perfect though.

This was a great find on Google Maps. A great little restaurant and a favorite of the locals and understandably so. The staff here were all great and professional and the restaurant opens very early and is clean. The food was excellent. You must try the pancakes even just as a side they are great. This place is easy to get in and out of and close to the interstate.

My family and I almost didn't go to this establishment because there was construction BUT we are so glad we did. We went around 7 on a Tuesday night and got seated quickly even though there were several large parties. Drinks and food come out quickly. The staff was attentive. Finding location was easy to find even with the detour. Parking lot is easy to navigate even though it is located next to a mini golf course.

Great family spot with a very good soup and salad bar that comes with main meals or is $14 on its own. There is lots to choose from in the salad bar and two types of soup. I ordered the ribs and salad bar for $16 and my hubby had steak and shrimp for $19. We both enjoyed our meals and it was reasonably priced. It was really handy to our hotel the Foothills Inn too!

If you like traditional diner food. Go! Steaks are tender and tasty. Open beef sandwich is to die for. Spanish omelette was fantastic. Biscuits and gravy are heaven on a plate. I wish we had one in WA state. Staff are friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is old town America at its best. Always check the white board to see what is the special and what pies are being served. Longest wait for seating we had was less than five minutes and the place was very busy at that time. From the time to order to food served was not greater than 10 min. Frankly once we had our first meal there we did not eat Breakfast or dinner anywhere else. Please tip generous these people bust their collective butts.

This is one of those now hard to find Family Restaurants that live up to the name. Great menu selection, tasty food, friendly service and there are obviously regulars who come back frequently. They have a decent soup and salad bar. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus to choose from. There are also desserts but my wife and I don't usually order desserts.

Nice atmosphere. A little more expensive than IHOP, Denny's or similar establishment however the food was great. I had the smoked sausage Skillet which was loaded with sausage, eggs, Hashbrowns and diced peppers and onion. Served with your choice of breads or pancakes. I had chosen the Rye, which were thick slices. Unlike other establishments that say you get "two slices of bread" which is one sliced cut in two you actually get two slices of bread that are cut in two. There was no shortage of sausage!!!

This looks like a locals favorite. The unlimited salad bar and soups is nice, but the soup was pretty dull and lacked flavor. I enjoyed the meal that was given and the prices are fair for what you get. The staff seemed happy to be there and nice! I enjoyed the steak and the buffalo steak. It seems like a must to go if you are travelling in SD to get the Northwest diner feel.

Very very busy on Sunday, basic home-cooked food. Could be more spice for me, but the chicken fried chicken was perfect!

Best waitress I have come across in years! Vanessa was super attentive and personal and made sure the food was served to our liking before walking away. The food itself was good as well, excellent salad bar and soup too!

We stopped here for breakfast on way to black hills. Whole atmosphere is up beat and waitresses are super nice. There is rush but yet service was prompt. Pancakes were soft and delicious. Did not know what skillate is but yet ordered it and loved it.

Here on vacation from Missouri, Tonya was our waitress, best service we have had ever! Food was amazing, cooked perfect, hot, fresh and fast. Priced reasonable too. Thank you for the best meal we have had in quite sometime.

I had to find a family restaurant when I flew in from Wisconsin, ended up here & I was not disappointed! The waitress was so very sweet. I chatted with some of the customers who made me feel at home. My dish hit the spot.

I was in town on vacation, and this place was a very pleasant surprise. The staff was friendly and actually seemed to care about their jobs. The food was delicious, well-portioned, and reasonably priced. Actually, very well priced. Family of four ate delicious meals here for a smaller bill than we usual rack up at a certain overpriced sub sandwich chain. That is going to depend on exactly what you buy, of course. The point is that I was very impressed. Ate here twice. The second time was a Friday night and the waiting line was out the door. Even so, it only took about 15 minutes to get a table.

I loved it here! The atmosphere was fun, the waitress was funny and gave everyone a hard time, the food was FANTASTIC and I loved every minute of it being here. It’s nice going somewhere where the people enjoy their jobs and like to enter act with their customers.

We followed the online suggestion to try this place. Maybe we didn't come to the right time, it was crowded. We were on the waiting list, but we didn't wait long to be seated. The server is great. Salad bar has good selections, and it comes with the dinner entree, but that place was so busy that no one cleansed the spilled on the bar. The soup is cold/ warm. We told the server, but the kitchen is too busy to heat it up. We ordered an entree with meshed potatoes. Meshed potatoes were cold/ warm. Menu served chopped beef, which has a good portion for senior citizens, and the price is right. Maybe it's better to avoid meal time.

We love the Millstone both locations are excellent. We usually get breakfast when we go here but they do have really good dinners and lunches as well. They have a really good salad bar that has plenty of options for everyone. For breakfast we usually get the Black Hills skillet and we substitute the toast for a side of pancakes which is awesome. They have really good Belgian waffles and they also have really good biscuits and gravy. My dad used to love going here he would always get the hot hamburger meal with mashed potatoes. They also have a location in Spearfish South Dakota and possibly some others I'm not quite sure.

Great place for breakfast - diner vibe capable of handling large crowds. I had an egg beater cheese and mushroom omelet. The portion was perfect and the mushrooms were cooked to perfection. Our party of three all loved their meals. The service was timely and our meal came out quickly. If ever in South Dakota you have to give them a try. Their menu has something for everyone. It looks like they are improving the facility with construction at the front door but don't let that detour you. You will be glad you tried it.

7:30 on and the salad bar is decimated... Had to ask a waitress if it was going to be filled... She went to the cook window and he said she was to fill.... Not the first time we experienced such conditions at night. Breakfast is the best here but with this supervision I wouldn't recommend coming at night.

Best breakfast choice if you’re in Rapid city. Opens at 6 AM and has variety of choices for breakfast.

This was a good place to eat. Clean, friendly helpful staff and family atmosphere. The food was good but not exceptional. The drink selection was limited compared to places like Perkins. If I could just take a half star I would but it isn't a 5.

We ate there for dinner it was good food and the waitress was nice. The salad bar had fresh lettuce and the soup was good. My kids loved the food. Clean bathrooms. Plenty of seating area and big parking lot. My kids loved the quarter machine at the front that laid a plastic egg.

Great lunch experience. I had the chef salad, husband had senior chopped steak. They were very busy so there was a short wait for food. Most times I order meal salad the vessel it is served in is too small and contains too much. Most of my lunch ends up on the table. I was very happy the salad came in a shallow bowl where I could add my dressing and mix it up. We will definitely be back.
