The view from the rooftop is amazing!! Our waiter Alex gave us excellent service ! My wife and I both had the 8 oz steak! The steak was a perfect medium rare. My wife commented that this is the best steak she has ever had!! I had to agree! The specialty drinks are a great change of pace! This place is a must stop and see venue when you come to Rapid City!!

This is a must see while in town! The panoramic view from the top is quite lovely, as you can see the entirety of Rapid City while enjoying a drink or two outdoors. The drinks are a little steeper on the price but that makes sense as it is quite fancier than its sister bar on the ground floor.

We specifically went during happy hour, confirmed that happy hour included specialty cocktails. Our server assured us the cocktails were a happy hour feature. We ordered cocktails. Then, we were charged full price for them. We asked why they were not half-price (as had been confirmed before we ordered) and the server said the happy hour prices are only for “members.” Why wouldn’t she tell us this when we asked specifically about happy hour features before ordering? We ordered a charcuterie board of cold uncooked food. It took 45 minutes to arrive.

Cute restaurant with good food. We went for the view and experience. The elk ravioli and elk and Buffalo burger were the best. Normally we love seared duck breast but it wasn't the best -- they didn’t crisp the skin up the way some places do, and it was a bit soggy. The $20 "club fee" to book was a little steep as well. Dessert was good, though!

Awesome restaurant/bar! Need a hotel key or membership to access. Great views and awesome selection of bourbon, whiskey, etc. Great food also! If you get the chance to get up here, do it!

The food and drink menu is outstanding!!!! The rooftop seating offers breathtaking views. We will go back for the sausage app! It’s the perfect place for a date or special occasion. Very romantic, intimate and historic. It’s a once in a lifetime experience I highly recommend for adults and older kids.

The restaurant felt as if it was understaffed. For a party of 6 people, it was almost 3 1/2 hours to get our ours. Water took about 35 minutes to get. Drinks another 20 minutes. The majority of the dishes were good, some where not so good or very small portioned. This place was recommended by many people but it did not live up the hype. The atmosphere and view from the rooftop is worth the visit. Next time I visit, would only go for drinks and atmosphere

We had the chicken pasta dish and Buffalo ravioli. Both great. My old fashion was on point as well! View from roof top seat was great as well.

Met a local at a nearby restaurant and he recommended this roof top bar as a must see. I’m so glad we went because the service, view, drinks and history were phenomenal. View would be better at night. It’s on the 10th floor and you need a keycard to get to that level. In front of the elevator is a collage of all the past famous guests. We got an old fashion, Heather Hendrick’s and a mocktail for my mom. The mocktail was made with raspberry. Heather Hendrick’s had gin, elderflower and Prosecco. Shout out to Brandon, the manager who made our entire time unforgettable.

It was our first time here, and our son and daughter in laws 2nd time. The onion soup was a little sweet but otherwise flavorful, the ratatouille soup had a good flavor but the portion was small in comparison to the onion soup. I had the filet and it seemed to have a better flavor than the ribeye that everyone else ordered. The creme brulee was fabulous, they liked the try me dessert (good variety) I didn't care for the berry chocolate compote dessert. The BlackBerry hills smash drink, and the old fashioned #89 were on point!

If you visit Rapid City, SD, and have the time, this is a pretty cool place to check out. Rooftop bar and restaurant located in an upscale downtown hotel. Food is expensive and good, but not all that. The service and atmosphere are what you come for and the mixed drinks are pretty tasty also.

Ladies night out ended at The Vertex Sky Bar. Our bartenders, Brandon and Wyatt, were friendly and helpful. This is the perfect spot for a ladies night out or a romantic night out with your partner. This is definitely on the list for the next trip!

If you want basic American food for higher price this is the place. I would not recommend celebrating any special day Like birthday or anniversary there. We called made special request for our anniversary. The staff did not make any special gestures for celebrating our anniversary there. Food was VERY basic.

Bases on an overwhelming MUST TASTE recommendation, I made a quick stop to try the special desert of the day. It was spectacular and if I visit here again, it will be a must to try more. The chef personally described the desert to me before he prepared it and had it sent to me special delivery. If you are in Rapid City, stop to see the views from the rooftop and try the desert. Next time, I will be stopping in for the full meal.

The only redeeming qualities about this place is nice wait staff and nice sunset pics. This place either needs an additional kitchen or more staff. We waited for our food for over an hour. One of the dishes came out cold which they offered to re-make. After 45 more minutes of waiting, we inquired about the dish. The waiter checked on the food and chef could not give us an indication when it was going to be re-made. If you want a quick drink for sunset, go there. If you want to have a nice meal with drinks/wine, go somewhere else!

Really nice place to relax and have a drink. Rooftop bar with fireplaces. We didn't eat there. Wait staff was attentive. 10th floor with a great view!

I had the best evening! Brandon was a lovely server. He was personable, friendly, and very attentive. He paced my meal really well, as I was not in a rush and enjoying the evening. I started with the Smoked Salmon Crostini, then had the Buffalo Tenderloin. Both were amazing! I was saddened by there not being any Cremé Brulé, but I did enjoy some Justin Cabernet. I had a lovely time on the patio, and even met some others to talk with by the firepit! Such a lovely environment.

As the tallest place in town and being this a rooftop restaurant, you just can't beat the view: great sights from all over the area. Nice food and wine selection, and it just so happens I was there on Music Monday with live music. Very great option if you are in town. It was also nice to try buffalo steak here.

Great location. View is panoramic but mostly rooftops so look out to the edges of town! Our drinks were well made and the small plates(appitizers) were quite filling and tasty. Our creme brulee was excellent. All of the servers were knowledgable about the dishes, friendly and very helpful. We sat and talked and ate for 3 hours in a great atmosphere. Good evening!

Went for dinner and drinks, sat on the lower rooftop. Great atmosphere. I had the open faced steak sandwich, very good. SO had the chicken pasta and said it was just ok. Drinks were good, little pricey but expected for where we were. We had a great time.

Some of the best cocktails in the city, and definitely the best staff! The food has also been exquisite so far! Everything I've had has been superb, I highly recommend the steak sandwich. Finally, the view! Rapid City is very pretty to overlook at night.

Wonderful food, staff, drinks and views! They were very accommodating to my dietary needs and didn't upcharge me for anything. If you're not staying at the hotel, you'll need to get a day pass from the front desk in order to work the elevator to go up. Don't worry, it's free!

Ordered drinks and food. Drinks were great, but the food never came. Waited, waited, waited, finished our drinks and left. Great views. Look for the dinosaur on the hilltop. UPDATE: After tipping the Bartender $20 cash tip after serving us, I paid with a credit card with a 0 tip on the slip. The 0 had a horizontal line through it. Now going through my purchases online, someone wrote a 1 in front of the 0. I was charged an additional $10 after tipping $20 cash. In my opinion this is stealing. Someone needs to be fired in my opinion. The hotel is awesome but this bar is crooked. I will never return and I will not recommend this bar.
