This restaurant was on my list of places to visit for a long time now, it's still top rated ( avg. of 4.8 with 600+ reviews ) and today I gave it a try during lunch time. Food was very delicious and as spicy as requested, portion size big and staff was very friendly. As the portion size is quite big you should think twice before ordering additional side dishes ( couscous in my case ).

This place with a unique atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food has become one of my favourites in Karlsruhe. You can order sets from two to 8 people. They also have African beer and other drinks. The place is very popular, so I'd recommend booking the table beforehand. And yes, they accept cards. I highly recommend it.

Food was amazing. Staff super friendly and want to help you . They speak English for no locals. You MUST try their kantaifi desert with ice cream Just amazing.

I did not know what to expect, but the moment you step in you realise there isn’t anything similar in the city. It is a family restaurant, the vibe is super friendly, the father is the cook and the son served us with recommendations, a big smile and super grateful and friendly words. They have mango, banana or coconut beer in the drinks menu which makes it already different. Beer is served in a coconut shell, I found it quite original. The food flavour is super different, special and the bread, which feels sort of like a French crepe makes it easy to eat with your hands to have the full experience. I do recommend stopping by.

My expectations for this restaurant was high with the reviews. After being there and meeting the staff and having the food, I should say it was not even being valued enough in the comments. Super friendly staff, delicious food with a good quantity, tasty beers and a beautiful chill place to spend a Friday night with friends. Only if they bring a lot of bread at the beginning it would be awesome. Because the food was amazing and we kept asking them for more bread to eat it with! 😁 It became one of my favourite places in Karlsruhe for sure!

Great food and friendly staff. Exotic beer. The ambiance is great. You wouldn't get a table without prior reservation, quite popular and busy. Definitely recommended.

I loved it here. The Family who owns the restaurant is very nice, especially the son Maël who served us and told us about his life/the restaurant and gave us tips on what to order!💓 Everything super delicious and would highly recommend.

This is one of the best if not the best Eritrean restaurant in Karlsruhe, maybe even Germany. It is a family run establishment. You instantly feel at home, enjoying mouth watering deliciousness that is served by super friendly service which most of the time is the father or the son of the family. Vegan, food allergies or meat lover. Everyone will have a pleasant experience here. Since the quality is widely known, you definitely need a reservation. The ambience is very tasteful, maybe a bit too dark for some people.

Best dining experience I’ve had in the whole of Karlsruhe. The ambience is cozy and homely. The staff are warm and welcoming, a kind of service I’ve not seen so far in restaurants here. The food is absolutely delicious. Also liked the African flavoured beers and their style of serving it. Highly recommended

Very kind and friendly service and they really tried to make sure for us to have good time there. It was my first time to try Eritrean Cusine, and it was impressive. Highly recommend even for first time People! The mood in Restaurant is very exotic and clean! Highly recommend to visit there.

Totally worth it. The familiar atmosphere, the original food, the authentic experience, the service, the friendly staff. Everything of it was worth it. We ordered the african plate for 2, quite tasty, the banana beer i would order again, light in taste with a banana taste in the end. The hot kadaif with vanilla ice cream was the top. I would come again. Would totally recommend. Ps: at the end of the evening we got 2 free coctails, "trommel", next time i know what i would order as a drink

This restaurant has delicious Eritrean / Ethiopian food with nice waiters. You need to book for chair in advance before arriving at the restaurant though. Once served with the dish the waiter may not be available at a time you need them. Over all I had an excellent experience, give it a try.

Extremely friendly staff, nice decoration, it's like entering a whole new country. The waiter even spoke spanish. Maybe the preparation takes too long, but the wait is really worth it, absolutely delicious food.

I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The small talk with the family 🤗 was very nice. If you go to Karlsruhe and you want to eat some exquisit cuisine, go to Mogogo. Period ☝️ ?!
