Lovely and one of most beautiful Waterfall i ever have seen in my life.💋 i went on rainy days, (actually though out the year rainy season for ratnapura ) so Waterfall is full of it's beauty You Can go easily to top of Waterfall infront of nearby tea factory pathway down to hill right side of road. Very clean environment because of less visitors . Keep it clean 👍💋 But go to bottom of is difficult As parth way not in good condition and damage on some places but you can go with little bit of adventure. 🤪

Nice waterfall but not rich in water. Hope in rainy days view will be much good. Bit hard to reach to waterfall. Hard means need to use stairs to reach to waterfall. Small entrance point to waterfall and it is free. Parking not available. Village people will help you to park the vehicles. 20-30 min will take to reach the waterfall from entrance..

A stairway is there to reach the waterfall, but seemed that it was not used regularly. A view point is there after climbing down few stairs. Slippery on rainy days. Better to ask the route from a villager since the google map doesn't show the correct spot.

A fall with a different outlook. There is a stairway (around 500 stairs) to reach the bottom of the fall. There is no so called hike, but just to use the stairs. There is no such good view to the view point of the fall and can barely see the whole of it. We couldn’t reach the bottom due to too much of water in the fall that day.

Starting off, the location in Google maps is wrong. Search 'Kirindi ella observation deck' for the correct location. The entrance ticket is Rs50. Although I had an amazing experience, giving 3 stars due to safety reasons. You have to climb down for about half an hour from the entrance gate to see the waterfall. The stairs are so small and steep, and there is no steel alongside to hang on to for the most part. There are high chances you might slip. Would strictly advice older adults and children against going there. I went there during rainy season and the steps were extremely slippery. Wouldn't advice anyone to do that either. Also remember to take a small water bottle while climbing.

This was a great experience. A must if you are into hikes and waterfalls. Getting there was a 20min walk down an aged stairway that sometimes gaped jungle foliage and rocks. ( Don't wear your high heels for this hike) I suggest travelling in groups of 3+ as a tourist as sometimes locals group to drink at said location and can be overly friendly, especially among ladies wanting selfies and in my case grabbing my friend by the waist and hands without her permission. Otherwise locals are nice and very welcoming - it's a must visit if you are in the area

Kirindi Ella is a butiful waterfall in Rathnapura District. This place is found after 6.5 km from Pelmadulla town. When you get to the waterfall, you will be surprised. Please, remember, this place is insecure. Do not bath people who can not swim. Do not come by drinking alcohol at this place. It is your duty to protect the environment.

Kirindi Ella is one of the most beautiful waterfall in Sri Lanka. Its take 7th tallest waterfall in the island with a height of 116 m. To reach this waterfall you have to travel in Colombo – Badulla Main Road. In begining of Pelmadulla town there is a road in the left side named Kuttapitiya. You have to travel about 7 km in that road and you can see a name board at the location of the foot path starts to the waterfall. Google map shows the right location. You have to purchase tickets for this waterfall and value is Rs. 50.00 for per person. You can go to the bottom of the fall or the top. There is about 15-20 minutes walk downside of the hill. Steps are available hence you don't get so hard to reach to this location

(Translated by Google) This is a major waterfall in Sri Lanka, 116 meters above sea level. The forest with this waterfall is called Kuttapitiya mountain. To reach this you should travel along Colombo-Badulla main road (C). Access to the Gankanda Madhya Maha Vidyalaya is on the left in approaching Pelmadulla town. There is a name board for the school so you can not find the way. To reach the waterfall, the road should be about 7 km. Even if you can use a car, you must be careful not to drive, because the road has narrow and sharp bends. After traveling for about 7 km, a waterfall can be seen with the name Waterfall. From there, there is a narrow trail to the waterfall. It's a very dismal way. (The road will have to endure the parking of the road). The waterfall should be about 50 meters downhill in order to reach the stage of the waterfall. The platform is very good on that platform. If you want to get in touch with the waterfall, you should take about 200 meters to the narrow road. The water that creates the waterfall is connected to the Kalu Ganga. A breathtaking waterfall situated in a secluded road. It will be a long ride but worth it. The waterfall tend to dry in rain less season, but it still holds its glory. Superb waterfall. Rhis is the 7th higest waterfall in srilanka... Height : 116 meters District : Ratnapura The source of this breath-taking, 116m-high fall is the Kirindi Ella (stream), which flows from its starting point 940m up the Kuttapitiya Mountain. The stream travels 13km before the cascading point in the Kaluwaramukalana Jungle. It then flows via the Denawaka River to the Kaluganga River, located in the Bambarakotuwa Jungle. Local villagers say that there is a picture of a tortoise etched into stone here. At the base of the fall, the water plunges into a deep pool called Diyagathwala. It is said that a flight of stone steps leads down to the bottom, where a treasure trove is hidden. It is worth noting however, that the water completely dries up during times of drought and there have been no reports of found treasure. In the wooded area surrounding the fall, a multitude of plant species can be found, together with wildlife including wild boar, cobra, monkeys and reptiles. This area was previously known as Kustapitiya, meaning itch, as folklore has it that a king suffering from an itch had lived here. Local villagers also believe that during Halloween, human voices can be heard near the fall. Furthermore, it is said that fireballs can be seen in the skies above the fall at night. The nearest town to Kirindi Falls is Pelmadulla, Ratnapura District (Pelmadulla Divisional Secretariat, Kuttapitiya GS area). Take the Ratnapura – Pelmadulla highway and 600m before the Kuttapitiya junction, turn left down the Kuttapitiya road. Continue for 5km to find the fall. Alternatively, if approaching from the city of Ratnapura, take the Balangoda road to Pelmadulla and join the Pelmadulla School road. Continue via Narangoda to Kiuriwandala and the fall can be seen from near the Kuttapitiya tea factory. A convenient place to stay is the Ratnapura rest-house 21km away. Be aware that the Pelmadulla PS charges a fee is to see this fall.
