It is a beautiful waterfall, but the way to the waterfall has to go up through the valley, so you have to be careful on rainy days.

This beautiful isolated waterfall is about 50m in height (may vary). It is said that there had been "බේරු ගස්" near this waterfall. That is how this waterfall has got its name. To visit here, you have to first come to Ratnapura town. Then take the Wewalwatta road and reach the Wewalwatta junction. The road up to this point is perfect. Passing Wewalwatta junction go along the main road towards Balangoda for about 2km. In Rawuladola small village you will encounter a small foot path on your right side. It goes between a tea patch & a house. It may be difficult to identify this path. So, get the help of a villager. Go along this foot path for about 200m parallel to the stream to reach the waterfall. One can go there via Balangoda too. But the road from Balangoda to Wewalwatta is not that much perfect. It will not be a good idea to bathe here because the base pool seems to be quite deep. You can also visit Alupola falls, Dehena falls, Hal ella, Katu kithul ella, Madanagiri falls, Pandi oya falls & many other beautiful places in this area. Wow, an amazing place created by nature. If you gonna visit there, you have to park your vehicle near the Wewalwatta-Balangoda road and start walking 150m-200m towards the waterfall on foot. People in the village are friendly. And if you need the location, they will guide you. This waterfall has a great swimming area. Depth is like 10ft-20ft so if you are not good at swimming, please, don't get into this pool. Because deaths have been reported in the past. The thing is if its rainy season there will be plenty of leaches are waiting to climb into you.

From Wewalwatta travel 2 km towards Balangoda . You have to park your vehicle and walk about 200 meters along the jungle path to reach the waterfall. You have to pass 60 meters of rocky terrain with few difficulties to reach this very rich and beautiful waterfall.

Hidden gem near Wewelwatta - Balangoda road. One of the most beautiful waterfall I have seen. Less crowded and the pond seems deep. There is no sign board and the waterfall is not visible to the road. Therefore you may want to get a help from villager to find the foot path to the waterfall. You have to walk around 100-200m from the road.

Truly a hidden gem! One of the most beautiful but less crowded waterfall in Sri Lanka. Situated off Ratnapura-Wewalwatta-Balangoda Road (Just few kilometers away from Wewalwatta Town and around few hundres meters away from Rawuladola Junction) which is famous for Waterfalls. Also need to walk 2-3 hundred meters from the main road to reach this place via a rough, narrow and slippery foot path. It would be better, if you can get the directions to this Waterfall from a villager of Rawuladola Area, since the water fall is not visible to the main road.

Beruwatta Falls | බේරුවත්ත ඇල්ල Height :50 meters District :Ratnapura The 50m high Beruwatte Ella Falls, set amongst tea plantations and a plethora of mountainous flora and fauna, is formed by the convergence of several brooks originating on the Rakshagala Mountain. The cascading waters of the fall have been poetically likened to pure white cotton and a length of loosened hair, flowing from a fairy in the heavens, free for anyone to comb. At the base of the fall is a rock that offers a perfect seat for quiet contemplation, and also a pool known as the Beruwatte Villa, from where two brooks converge to flow into the Wevel Dola stream. This stream is later joined by the Alupola Dola and the Ravula Dola, and finally flows into the Mahaweli River near Malwala. Both the Balakotunna mountain range and the Mahalassa estate are visible from the elevated ground close to the fall. The land around the fall has been degraded due to illicit gem pits. Around 130 families inhabit the nearby village whose principal means of subsistence are gem minin and the cultivation of crops such as pepper, chillies and goraka (Garcinia spp).
