I choose this hotel to spend a vacation with my wife based on the high ratings it had. We were late to check in but they made it a smooth arrival with quick service and warm gestures. We got a ocean view room. It was not much spacious but was luxury, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Buffets had many varieties and food was delicious. Amenities were very good. We spent a good time in pool. Key highlight to mention is the friendliness and service of the staff. They are polite and always ready to help. Great value for the money you spend. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We went for day out, it was great day and great place. We had buffet there, it was good but spread was less than expected, maybe due to current situation they have reduced the spread. Also we were requesting tea after the tea time because we missed the tea time we were in the pool but they provided they tea for us after requesting from staff. Also evening scenery was beautiful at the hotel and they can improve the pool side area. Because lot of crows were by the pool side. Overall experience is good

Came with my family to this lovely hotel and had a great experience. The hotel is well designed and has an amazing beach front view. The ideal place to be on a relaxing vacation. We enjoyed the pool which was not very crowded. The pool attendant saved us a nice spot with sun beds by the pool and handed over pool towels. The staff overall was very friendly, from the beginning they were very welcoming and extremely friendly and helpful. We definitely made some great memories and I’ll definitely visit this hotel again.

Right from the outset the staff were exceptionally courteous, kind & helpful. The sprawling area and views of the lagoon and sea are so relaxing. I found the lawns and outer areas meticulously maintained and the room etc very clean and comfortable. There was a good variety in the choice of food and the restaurant staff always checking on us ensuring that we were OK. From the front office to the restaurant, the room service staff plus the friendly guys who carried our bags to and from our rooms we have found them to be excellent! Well spent weekend! I was here with my wife for one night last July 2019. The foods were delicious. The hotel staff was friendly and quickly arranged our room for check-in. The room was somewhat small compared to other hotels I visited. There are two swimming pools you can enjoy well. But you can go to the beach and enjoy yourself. It will be a pleasant time to be here as per my experience.

A wonderful place. We are a university family. We chose Avani for a day out and that was one of the best decisions we have made. The hotel staff gave us a very warm welcome and the location was superb. Buffet was delicious and we enjoyed a marvelous day with them. So thankful for the hospitality they gave us. We spent a day out at the Avani Kalutara resort. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and the staff were extremely polite and hospitable throughout our stay. We booked the ocean view room and whilst it was not as spacious as expected, it was comfortable and clean. In addition, the lawns and the pool were extremely well maintained. We were served the buffet for lunch and even though a greater variety of cuisine would have been preferred, the food available was still nice. Overall the resort was good! Thanks for the lovely stay guys!

All the staff were very friendly here. Food were also so delicious & there were number of meals specially for the breakfast. Calm & beautiful environment surrounded all around by the sea. Very good hospitality and best service. They have added bathroom needs like shaving kits,brush kits,even ear buds... our car was breakdown there and one of the staff member and a security guard came us to help with a very polite manner.. Actually very best place to go for a holiday to feel full of relaxation. white, purple, gray and ocean blue colours that they used for their furnitures and decorations were very pleasant to see.... I loved this place & wish to come again...

The hotel had a nice view from every side. We had a warm welcome. The staff was friendly and helpful. The service was great. The lunch buffet had many varieties and they were tasty. The dining area was little bit compact. Had little space to move. Near to beach and had a nice sea view. Overall it was a nice experience.

Visited the resort for lunch to spend the vacation. The staff were very kind and provided a great service, especially Miss Iresha who welcomed us. The food was amazing. We enjoyed the international buffet. Would definitely recommend this place. And a lovely peaceful surrounding. Will definitely visit this place. Had a delightful evening at the restaurant for dinner. The service was exceptionally friendly, and I enjoyed the pleasant view from the hotel. While the food was okay, it didn't quite reach the level of the best culinary experiences. And the dining area was a bit compact.

The location is pretty awesome,it's like it's own private island 😁 quick access to the beach filled with cool sea shells and clear sandy beach. Standard rooms are smaller than other hotels. But they are very clean and stocked with all the supplies which should be on a 5star hotel, they even have turn down service. Buffet is pretty great too, it doesn't have the biggest selection BUT the variety is very good, covers all food groups and all the food taste delicious, specially the pork!! Staff is very attentive and pleasant. There are a lot of stuff to do here specially since you can use the facilities of anantara hotel as well. It was a great experience and definitely hope to visit again

I love this place. I had a very peaceful and relaxing time off from work. The location was perfect! You can relax in the balcony itself overlooking the ocean. Management and Staff are very friendly and very accommodating. They have treated us very well. GM Mr. George made sure that even though we stayed in just a couple of days, it was worth it visiting this property. Food was very tasty and huge portion. I look forward to coming back to this property again. My only suggestion is to do a touch up of paintings on the wall outside the hotel as they are peeling off. But overall, excellent!

The hotel is surrounded on side by the lake and the sea on the other side. The staff are pleasant and willing to help which is a great plus. The food and beverage choice is decent. The food offering is tasty, and there's variety to cater to different palates.

Food was the amazing part. Lot of varieties and really tasty foods. There were some areas (space of buffett area, room air conditioning etc) which should be developed and I have informed it to the hotel management through their online survey. Location also really good. More plus points and definitely recommend to you guys.

This Beautiful Resort in Kaluthara is surrounded by Beach. Its being made as a quarantine centre by Durdans Hospital now. Staff is very good. Place is beautiful, serene, and quiet , you can hear waves . Room was very comfortable. Food was nutritious. I got recuperated in their care. Service from Doctors is excellent. Durdans Hospital is really doing a great service.

Excellent hotel to relax not far from Colombo. Service was excellent and the rooms and amenities were good. The beach was pretty lackluster as its not very clean. Food was served in buffet and was decent without much of a wide spread. Recommended.

Where the hotel is located is nice and the staff is friendly. However the food was not so good. All the leftover from lunch they have made it for dinner as well. Cleanliness of the glassware and cutlery is not so good.

Everything about the place and it’s people were amazing. The food was really great staff from the front office and banquet were really attentive. Especially thuan from banquets. Highly recommended

Nice place, quiet with a pleasant walk. Access to the lagoon and a sheltered beach via a short paddle across a shallow channel (but unfortunately the beach is not kept clear of rubbish, a wasted asset in my view).

We went there for a day out. Location is calm and well maintained. The room we got was spacious and equipped with modern amenities. Food was tasty and they prepared some additional items as per our request and quality of the food and service was excellent.

We went on a weekend with our kid. It was really good holiday destination with excellent guest service. Rooms are quiet compact, but good. Exterior and location is really beautiful with lagoon and beach. Nice pool, and restaurant. For kids, there is kids club with good facilities and play area. Foods are excellent with varieties. Recommend. Score 9/10

We have stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel staff were welcoming at all time. Hotel was clean and organized. Access to Anantara was a plus as facilities at their can be used easily. It was great vacation spent there.

Good place for a getaway, and laze around after the buffet.. There's the pool, so bring your swimwear.. Be mindful of the condition of the beach, it's deeper than it looks,

This was such an awesome place built right on the edge of the sea. The rooms were very beautifully designed and maintained. The breakfast was exquisite....you will be spoilt for choice daily. Each location from the river mouth to the beach side was wonderfully integrated into the resort and they had a beautiful walking path also with lot of photo spots and attractions for the tourists. Clearly a hidden gem in the sleepy town.

Went for a day out recently. The location is very nice and located in clam and quiet environment. At the time we visited it was not too crowded. The staff is friendly and provided a nice service. Apart from the lunch buffet all others were great. Lunch buffet menu was quite odd (Appetizers and desserts were okay)

We went to Avani for a family holiday. The staff was very polite and attentive. The reservation process was smooth and the promptly accommodated our request for an early check-in. The location was excellent. You can have both sea view and lagoon view and very good place to relax. Specially the walking path beside lagoon is beautiful. If you have kids do not forget to check the kids play area too.

Stayed for a few hours for a conference. I was allowed to use the library to finish my work peacefully. The staff were the most welcoming and always ready to help. The receptionist for the day Mr. Yohan was quite attentive and helpful. Food was delicious and the view of the sea and the lagoon takes the cake. Would recommend for anyone.

Avani is definitely a great place if you are searching for a hotel to relax with a beautiful atmosphere and many facilities. There was a great variety of super delicious food. Rooms and the pool were very clean even though we went there during a busy weekend. Last but not least, the staff were very friendly and supportive. They were genuine and super dedicated. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in having a great stay in a calming environment.

Amazing place with nice and friendly staff with great food...lagoon facing rooms are really calm & quit with full of romance and peace of mind... The property itself is mind bowing :D Immediate actions taken after they hear customers' inquiries or requests, completely different from other hotels in Sri Lanka. The staff was very accommodating and were very prompt in their service. Great staff who knew how to serve the customer. Outdoor activities crew is super friendly as well specially the guy who was overlooking kayaking. It was one of my best hotel stays!
