👍 Delicious thick cut brisket! The fattier pieces of brisket were way juicer than the leaner pieces. I really liked their curry sausage. The pork ribs are peppery. Their cheesy corn wasn’t cheesy enough for me. The pickles and onions were crunchy and not salty. Def worth the wait time (~40 mins), but... I did enjoy the ambiance and the other businesses included in the same building.

To say my husband loved this place is an understatement. Places like this is exactly why we drive from MN to KC. Menu is straightforward and easy to navigate. We had burnt ends and a half slab of ribs. Both were delicious and didn't require sauce for flavor, but we like sauce so we added it anyway. The owner is a super nice guy who humored my husband's request to see his smoker. Great place with great food. A must try!

Well worth the wait in line! Waited about 45 mins and was lucky to get any brisket, so come early. Possibly the best brisket I have ever had. Perfect crust on the outside, smoke ring, and just falls apart.

BEST BBQ in KC hands down. Everything is homemade & it is wonderful. From the pickles to pickled onions and all the meat. Perfection. All the sides give you a good amount of food. There is NOTHING on the menu that is bad.

JUST NO. TOUGHEST Brisket/Burnt ends in town! Come waste your money. Not actually sure how they stay open? Better off getting some dog food from the store? Of the 20 places I've eaten in KC this was number 21. 1000% will not return and very disappointed. I had looked forward to this for a while too. Brisket ($16) - Specifically aaked for moist, unreal how tough it was and how hard to saw through. Forgot my Sawzall. So so so unfortunate. Dry and awful. Burnt Ends ($17) - Saving grace! JUST KIDDING also soo tough. Cheesy Corn ($4) - Ok but surprisingly corn was even somehow undercooked? Cilantro on top. Twice Baked Potato Salad ($4) - Decent but after the rest it was the only thing I could truly eat. 5PM on a Saturday too, there were 4 other people and I watched then try to tear through the hide as well. Service: He asked if it was good for which I lied and nodded, but he also forgot my to go box and that I asked for moist brisket. Wouldn't return even if it was the last place on earth. Jeez so sad about this. A HARP is being playing by the angels because they know this place is gonna go extinct. After eating here I'm strongly considering becoming a vegetarian.

I was feeling adventurous the other day and decided to try a new to me barbecue joint that's not your typical Kansas City fare. It's called Harp Barbecue, and it's all about the different style of smoking meat. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The portions were huge, and the meat was tender and flavorful. I especially liked the sausage, which had a nice snap and spice to it. But the real stars of the show were the sides. The potato salad was creamy and delicious, and the mashed sweet potatoes were heavenly. They even gave me a cookie for dessert, which was a sweet gesture. I felt like I had traveled to Texas and back in one meal. I will definitely visit again and try some more of their delicious dishes.

Amazing offerings. KC meets Texas craft barbecue. Cooked in offset smokers with real wood. Specializing in brisket, ribs, burnt ends, mind blowing sausage, pulled pork and poultry. Great sides and banana pudding. Place is a must.

We got 3 lbs meat, 3 sides for $109, after a 1.5hr wait in line. The meat was 12 out of 10.... Amazing. The public picnic feel of trying to eat there was kind of a no go for me: paper plates, not enough tables, drinks are not served where the food is, overflowing trash cans. (A guy squatting in the corner to eat.) And the sides were all no good. Knowing what I know now: I would probably get there earlier (like be waiting at 10:45am, we got there at 11 and waited 1.5 hrs) and take bulk meat to-go for a party at home or something. I don't see us going back for a family lunch.

I ordered a party tray and avoided the line. Absolutely the best in KC. The brisket was sliced thick with a nice bark and was tender and juicy. Loved the sausage. I’ve not had anything close to the flavor and texture that it brought. A fantastic experience!

I've never had such excellent brisket in my life. It was juicy, tender, and hand cut very thick. I also found the sausage to be exceptional. I ate a burnt end off of a friend's plate that was also among the best I've had. The sides were also tasty - excellent baked beans and cheesy corn. They have very limited hours so get here early as when something sells out it's gone for the day.

Hidden gem of a place for sure. Everything we got was amazing. Brisket and burnt ends were both melt in your mouth tender. The sausage is also underrated as well. Ribs were good too but we’re slightly chewy when I had them. A little expensive but still worth it for the quality of the food. Would recommend if you’re craving dry rub Texas style BBQ.

Great experience! Fatty brisket was outstanding! We made quite the trip out of our way to go here and it was well worth it! It wasn't a busy lunch hour and we got to have a great conversation with the owner! Great guy and great food! 5 STARS!

We went for their grand opening at the new brick and mortar location yesterday. We waited about an hour which wasn't a surprise. My personal faves were the burnt ends, ribs, and pastrami. The baked potato casserole was also really good.

The atmosphere was solid with a little back room that expands the restaurant more so than what it appears. Most things were a la carte, so I got 1/4 Lb of the burnt ends and 1/4 Lb of briskets. The seasoning on the fat portions of the burnt ends and brisket were exceptionally executed. The meats was good, but it seem to not carry as much flavor as the seasoning on the fats. Overall solid. (I may be a divergent opinion as it routinely sells out early.)

I'm in no way qualified to judge BBQ. But for the past 2 years I have been trying various BBQ joints in KC and the Metro. I think Harp Barbecue may be the best I have ever had. Just do yourself and your taste buds a favor, get in line early and experience Harp. You won't regret it.

Added this to our cross-country road-trip after reading about it on various blogs & news outlets. Glad we stopped in and enjoyed some really delicious barbecue with amazing burnt ends and sweet potatoes. Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming and the owner was right there helping run the show! Definitely a great spot to stop if you’re lookin for good KC barbecue!

I'm not sure how this little gem has escaped my notice until today, but I will certainly return soon. It's an unassuming little place (like most good BBQ places are) with a friendly staff and great food. The menu is written on a chalkboard which is kinda fun. A little weird that the chalk board is by the pick-up spot and not where you order. The lack of signage was a little confusing, but I used my best reasoning skills and figured out where to place my order. I ordered a short end of ribs, burnt ends, and sausage. It was packaged up nicely to go and included sauce as well as pickles (which tasted housemade...yum!), and pickled onions. The food is incredible. The ribs are peppery and tender. The burnt ends are juicy and flavorful, and the sausage was delicious. I thought the sauce was pretty good, but not everyone in my household loved it. Don't sleep on Harp...it's as good as any of the other KC greats!

My GF and I drove the 3-ish hours from Omaha for this place as I wanted to try different BBQ styles while I was in-country and let me tell you, I would go back just for the food. Delicious, simple (deceptively so, I suspect), and well priced this BBQ store is - or was when I was there - in the back of a brewery so you know there's a good drop to drink as well.

Cash register lady was ok. Tables looked like pizza hut tables from the 80s. They also had patio tables as well in side. The food: Cold. Dry. No flavor. I asked for extra pickles. They was pickled cucumbers 🤮 The cheesey corn was uncooked can corn with cheese soup poured over it. 🤮 Only had ONE BBQ sauce. Tasted like vinegar-watered down BBQ sauce. As for prices . The $2 a can of Pepsi and $2 bottled water was amazing! The food was roughly $13 for a sandwich. The sides was $4. I'll attach the receipt to show how unworthy the prices, food overall. I probably will never go back. They don't even have Mac and cheese.. or real basic thick sliced pickles. At a BBQ restaurant!!🤦 It's reminds me of a food truck that bought a spot and tried to make something bigger out of it. I'm not sure who these other people hyping this place up.. must of been friends of the owners getting free cold and unseasoned food. 🤷 But if you hate seasoning and sauces or cheap places to eat. This is for you. 🤢

This place is by far the BEST BBQ I've ever come across in KC! Every piece of meat was on point, super cool staff. If I was the owner I would definitely open a spot in Johnson County. If you come for the first time, I would recommend you get the brisket.

Tried this place for lunch. It was my first time trying Harp BBQ and it lived up to the hype. Very good BBQ. I had the Truth Bomb sandwich (chopped beef and sausage). It was phenomenal. Will definitely get it again. I had cheesy corn for the side and it was good but when I added some beef pieces left from my sandwich, some red onion that came with my sandwich, and a little BBQ sauce it became exceptionally good. The only negatives are it is a little pricey and they ask for a tip when you order at the counter. A sandwich, side, and soda set me back $23 after tax and before the tip. They unfortunately ask for a tip when checking out and before you get your food. That always feels like extortion not gratuity but a lot of places do this now. Still it the food was filling and delicious so I’ll be back to try some other things and to get that sandwich again.

Best BBQ in KC! Brisket/Burnt Ends: Great flavor, well developed bark, good smoke ring, beautifully rendered fat. Pulled pork: incredibly moist, potentially the best I've ever had. Sausage is good. Potato salad is ok. Beans & sauce are lackluster. Line started forming ~15 minutes before open.

On our continued quest for the best barbecue in the Kansas/Missouri area, my husband and I drove 75 miles to try Harp. We ordered the Tailgate Pack and a slab of ribs. First impression, it is a LOT of meat for the money. Second, this is true Texas style ‘cue. The brisket is thick cut with a simple rub and is not sauced. It is juicy with a nice flavor and chew. The burnt ends are so tender, they literally melt in your mouth. The jalapeño cheddar sausage has a nice smoke flavor with big chunks of cheese and just the right amount of jalapeños. The ribs are terrific. The simple rub and the smoke make the meat the star of the show. We didn’t even try the sauce with the meat, it’s not needed. We will be back!

Food was amazing! I recommend the brisket! We tried a handful! Brisket and Mac and cheese were the fan favorite! Only thing I would recommend is 1 or 2 high chairs or seats for some kiddos. Went with the family and we got sandwiches, chili, burnt ends, sausage! Everything was glorious !

Some of the best bbq I’ve ever had and topped off with immaculate hospitality and customer service. The brisket chili was LIFE CHANGING and needs to be broadcasted on all platforms for the world to try. Their house made sauce was layered in flavor and I just couldn’t get enough. Burnt ends, pulled pork, sausage, all of them are 11/10 recommended. The Mac & cheese & potato salad?!?!? You just need to try for yourself. Can’t wait to be back in KC to come back to Harp’s. Really hoping to see y’all out here for the Thanksgiving game in Sin City!! Go Chiefs!!
