It stands true to its name! Food is distinctly flavourful and the place offers a good range of authentic Indian dishes (North Indian cuisine mostly). But a strong caveat here❗All three ⭐s are for the chef and the kitchen staff ONLY👍 Trust the manager, serving and reception staff to ruin your experience each time 😡 This angst is not borne out of a single visit, but a culmination of several. I have visited the restaurant in groups at least 5-6 times during the past year. Only to be dismayed repeatedly to find: 1. The serving staff mocking the customers! 2. Most of them are completely disinterested and lack etiquette. 3. They make you feel as if they are doing a favour. 4. Request for water or cutlery takes ages. 5. And the worst, giving extra special attention to the white skin while ignoring other customers. So, the buffet and takeaways seem to be the right way to enjoy the good food while ensuring minimal interaction with the front-end staff 😶

Come hungry here! Great choices of Indian dishes that accommodate any dietary choices! I enjoyed the chicken as it comes in many flavors. But this is a buffet that serves food from across the continent, so there will not be a short of any particular option. The appetizers are many, including vegetarian. Main courses include chicken & vegetable biriyani amongst others. Dessert includes pudding & ice cream. Overall a great dining experience at a reasonable price (£18 adults, £9 kids). The service is a bit slow during peak times. 🥗Better make a booking if you know you want to come in a large group on weekends. And yes, the food is Halal. So come hungry & enjoy the buffet 🍜

The Gourmet Starter platter is absolutely amazing. Filled with so much flavour. Absolutely busting Environment. Weird that the staffs were wearing a strange plastic mask that doesn't do anything. The food is actually pretty good just didn't realise it while dining in. Only when I took the extra home that I realised that it's amazing as well, just that the Gourmet Starter platter was 10/10 and made everything else taste bland. Pro tip: Get the Gourmet Starter platter and just 1 main between 2.

Very friendly service decent prices and excellent food with some dishes you definitely wouldn't see on the menu at your average Indian/Bangladesh restaurant, I would definitely recommend

The House of Flavours on Kings Road is a large venue with good decor and comfortable spacing and seating. The staff are always very friendly and efficient. This place at peak times is very busy and has a nice energy and vibe. The jewel in the crown is the food. Good menu choices, decent portion sizes and tastes amazing. I’ve been here several times over a 15 year period and never been disappointed. The keema naan is the best I’ve ever had. If you like Indian food you will like House of Flavours. Recommended.

Overall good experience. Some dishes need improvement like Pani puri, dahi vada whereas some main courses were really out of world (Kadi pakoda, biriyani). Deserts were good too. Good service. Buffet is value for money.

I couldn't find a more authentic Indian cuisine in Reading. Having lived here for 8 years and explored most Indian restaurants within a 20-mile radius, I celebrated my birthday at this place with family and friends. The staff is incredibly friendly, they dimmed the light and play the song, made the whole moment unforgettable. The place exudes a proud Indian vibe. I highly recommend trying dishes like "Methi Chaman Hariyali" and "Punjabi Cholle." As someone from North India, I can attest that this establishment serves some of the best North Indian cuisines in town.

Nice meal although was disappointed with some aspects of the evening! Upon arrival, we mentioned that we had booked a table for 10, although we were now expecting 7-8 people to attend. The front of house mentioned that we would have to confirm the exact number for either a table of 6 with an extra chair at the end of the table or a bigger table for 10, but should the others not attend, then we would be charged for 10 people. Wasn’t impressed considering there was no mention of this at the time of booking yet front of house stated that they were fully booked that evening, so I accepted that fact and asked for a table to seat 6 with one on the end to make it 7. Sat down with my work colleagues and enjoyed the meal which was really good, food was delicious and the service was really good so no issues there. We did have to wait quite a long time between the starter and main course for reasons unknown to us. Thinking that maybe it was as busy as the front of house mentioned, I just accepted that fact, but was disappointed again with my main which was slightly cold which suggests it had been sitting out for a while. There were 7 of us dining so I can only imagine that it was sat in the window waiting for the other dishes to be ready so that it was served all at the same time since they bring the dishes on a cart to your table. The food was very tasty and was very happy with the quality, just the time between courses could have been better as it was the best part of a 60 mins wait. We did have lots of rounds of drinks in between, but there is only so much one can drink between courses. Quite pricey for what we had but the quality is definitely there so it was worth it, just wish the overall experience had been better. Definitely worth a visit and one thing I did notice during the evening was that there were at least 6-7 empty tables so the front of house wasn’t quite right in saying he was fully booked, unless they all cancelled last minute. Taking everything into account I’d say it was an ok meal, but could have been 5 stars had some aspects been a bit smoother.

We had such a lovely experience at House of flavour. Ritu sharma and harsimran were our servers and they were so friendly, helpful and attentive. We had the butter chicken and chilli cheese naan and it was the best we’ve ever had! Will definitely be coming back. It’s 10/10

Went for buffet lunch over the weekend. Didn't reserve in advance as we had a last minute plan but they were kind enough to accommodate considering how crowded it gets on weekend for lunch. Love the variety, there are lot of options even for vegetarians like us and there is at least one item which is mild enough for our kids to eat well.

Highly recommended for authentic Indian food with good service and taste. We really enjoyed lunch here with family and friends, kids are also absolutely delighted with food. Our favorite was Chaap, house Lassi, Paneer Takatak and machurian.

We had a good dining experience. Went for lunch buffet on Sunday, they have a good variety of starters and main courses, maybe they could add a few more items to dessert section.

We had a really great time at House of Flavours. We ordered vegetarian food and they were so yummy. Starting from the starters till the desserts all the items which we ordered were perfectly cooked. Service was also good. Don't miss the Gulab Jamun.

I don’t normally write reviews, I was so amazed by their food. I just had to share my experience. If you love fish, you got to have to try the Tandoori Salmon, absolutely amazing.

The best place to have Indian food, authentic flavours, food quality was good, and quantity was sufficient enough. . The price was reasonable, just from a walking distance from Reading town centre and close to Oracle mall.

Food was tasty and nice however the service was very poor. It took over an hour to get the starter we ordered while the rest of the orders placed after started coming in even some of the main courses. Eventually when we asked the waitress about the starters we ordered a while back she was confused about which starter. It was like we never ordered it even though we kept asking how long it will be. Service could definitely improve. There was no checking up on us to see if we needed more drinks or anything at all. Drinks menu was taken off us so we ended up not getting more drinks and stuck to water. Our orders weren’t confirmed and a few of us were forgotten about. We had to call her back to place our main orders. I understand it was a busy Friday evening however there needs to be a smooth process in place on taking orders, confirming and checking if all is good. The wait time on starters in general was appalling even though the main showed up pretty quickly. The only thing good was the food that arrived after a very long wait.

Loving when the restaurant staff & customers are from the country. Welcome in an Indian world. Wide menu of Indian specialties such as Nan, Lassi. Bad point for the noisy room.

Today i had sunday buffet with family and friends. Food was good but i found gulabjamun was not served after 2 30 and it was replaced with gajar ka halua. Mutton was also not adequate .rest items are good..suggestion is try to book slot before 2 pm..post 2 pm all foods may not be available..

This restaurant ambience is way unique and so spicy. Not to mention but there food is equally tasty. Portion wise is also adequate enough for two people specially there Chicken batti one of the best I have tried. Must try restaurant.

This was the first Indian restaurant I tried in London and it did not disappoint! I've been told that the Indian food in London is super authentic, and while I've never been to India myself, I can totally believe that the Indian food here is very authentic. We did family style, so everyone ordered a dish and we just grabbed a bit of everyone's food. We got biryani, butter chicken, korma, and everything was great. My one advice would be to get the basket of flavored naan. They have a selection of Naan breads and they were all delicious. Service is a bit slow, but they also have a lot of customers.

❌ Bad customer service ❌ worst Manger This is my first time in this place and tried their buffet. In my plate I got some kind of paper in curry as seen in photo. I reported the incident and no action was taken. The manager was rude and said it’s fault of the chef and not his. So, he can’t do anything. He quoted ‘you can cancel this, I don’t mind’. This is not a kind of atmosphere you expect in a restaurant. You expect good food and service. I couldn’t take anymore attitude of the manager. So I felt the place feeling annoyed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ❌❌

It was my daughter’s birthday we went there . It’s true as I read in previous reviews very less portion size only one samosa in samosa chaat £6.99 and 2 paneer spring roll in £ 6.99 which are not worth at all . Bread I ordered not good in taste at all. The curries I requested to make not at all spicy for my daughter they didn’t listen. My daughter didn’t eat anything there.. really disappointed as it was her birthday and she didn’t enjoy the food at all.
