Had my x-rays privately 11 days ago. Arranged by my osteopath. Neither my osteopath or myself have received anything from them. I phoned reception and was transferred to radiology today with my query and the call was ended without answer a couple of minutes later. Repeated this process, with same result. Receptionist then gave me the direct number so I could phone direct. Have phoned repeatedly (7 times in 30 minutes) and the call was never answered. I have not payed yet as no payment request has been made. I will not be paying until someone answers my call and xray results are received. Will not be using Circle again as I now need to repeat the xrays elsewhere. If they request payment I'll refer them to my solicitor.

My operation went really well; what Iā€™m reviewing here is the Circle readingā€¦which I found awful (for daycare at least!) Iā€™m Italian and I went in as private patient. It was my first time in a hospital/clinic in the Ukā€¦and Iā€™m sad to say that I didnā€™t find it good at all. 5 hours wait for my planned operation, with no communication whatsoever on how long you are going to be there waiting; and you are made feel, in my opinion, not a person with pain, but just a barcode, a number, there to fatten up the Circle Reading accounts..I have no idea how many people were booked in that dayā€¦but I can say FAR TOO MANY!!! I honestly feel utter despair thinking that this is the best care availableā€¦I didnā€™t even feel like a person when I was thereā€¦just a paying cheque! Nurses mind their businessā€¦they just follow their list of dutiesā€¦not sure how much ā€œlooking after ā€œ, proper looking after ā€¦with your heart I mean ,is part of a nurse job at the circle. The Circle reading is just a corporate businessā€¦making money with people health issues. In my opinion, when you deal with people at their most vulnerable (when they are unwell), you should offer something elseā€¦some warmth, something typically human! None of this in my experience at the circle. I can confidently say that a robot could have replaced the nurses on this occasion. Operation was successful, So I shouldnā€™t complain; but my day at the circle was unforgettableā€¦not in a good way!

I had a wonderful stay and first class treatment at Circle . The consultant was very attentive and went beyond the call of duty to explain the procedure and make me feel at ease all throughout the treatment and my admission. All the staff were equally caring, attentive and polite .

After a frustrating 56-minute wait for a scheduled blood test at Circle Reading Hospital today, I was relieved when I decided to report the matter to the receptionist. Who acted promptly and arranged for an out-patient nurse named Chrissie to assist me. This single encounter transformed my initial one-star experience into a remarkable five-star one, all thanks to the receptionist's swift and efficient actions and, of course, the exceptional service provided by Chrissie. I cannot speak highly enough of Chrissie; she truly was phenomenal. From the moment she introduced herself, her friendly and kind demeanor put me at ease. Throughout the process, she displayed utmost professionalism while maintaining a warm and welcoming environment. Her attention to detail and commitment to my well-being made me feel safe and comfortable. Before I knew it, she had efficiently taken my blood pressure, collected four vials of blood, performed two swabs, and completed an ECG. It was astonishing how smoothly everything went, and I left the hospital feeling grateful and satisfied. It's a rare experience when you encounter someone who not only meets your expectations but exceeds them. Chrissie's dedication and genuine care made me leave her presence happier and more uplifted than when I first arrived. She truly made a positive impact on my day, and I felt like a better person for having met her. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Circle Reading Hospital for having such exceptional staff members like Chrissie. Their commitment to providing excellent service is commendable and deserves recognition. As I look ahead to my upcoming surgery, I am confident that I will be in capable hands. Thank you once again for the outstanding care, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit to Circle Reading Hospital.

This place isnā€™t a hospital - itā€™s a medical hotel. The service is friendly and efficient and the food is delicious. From reception, to the food service to the ward every staff member has made me feel supported and seen throughout my stay here. I literally didnā€™t want to leave! In regards to my treatment, my surgeon Mr Harry Brownlow was professional, reassuring and thorough. All in all, what was a fairly major surgery was made as easy an experience as possible.

I had knee surgery at the Circle hospital today. I found the whole experience very professional from start to finish. staff went over and beyond to make me feel comfortable. From the Doctor that performed my operation. To the physios the people that done my x-ray, and even the nurses that attended to my every need. They were fantastic. Thank you everyone at the Circle Hospital.

My experience with Circle Administration/Accounts has been very disappointing. Emails are reject, calls unanswered and if you speak to someone you are passed on to a different person on a different number. No one takes responsibility for the problem. Nursing was average, the regular staff were very good but the bank staff poor and uncaring. Otherwise my experience was excellent.

The care I received from Mr Tavares and his team was outstanding. I was treated with care and respect always. Being able to see Mr Tavares afterwards was reassuring and having an X-ray before going home alongside a physio check made me feel very safe. Thank you so much to the nurses and all the physios as well. Best wishes to you all.

I'm at the clinic and just had my lower back injected for pain relief. It went very smoothly, the whole team were welcome and nice. Offered a lathe and biscuit after the surgery. Dr is brilliant and knows what's he is doing. Communicated with me throughout the surgery. The place is very clean and well staffed. I would definitely recommend.

Attended day surgery and was very impressed with the nursing and consultant. But compared to other private hospitals the accommodation was very basic. I was just placed in a curtained cubicle the same as that in an NHS casualty unit. Food was very bland and the choices very minimal. Trying to get into the Day care unit was hard as nobody answers the bell. There used to be a reception area, but this is now unmanned. Luckily a consultant saw we where waiting and let us in.

I had hernia surgery on 19/04/2022. I have a massive fear of hospitals but Circle Reading never made me fear anything. Everyone involved in my care I met, they were all very nice and the information I was given was great. The whole process was a breeze and the support from each member of the team was what helped me feel so settled. I came in as a patient from the NHS due to the NHS not able to meet deadlines so they outsource it, due to this I thought I'd perhaps be treated differently but I got the EXACT same care as everyone else. I travelled 1.5 hours to this hospital and it was worth every moment, if I ever need anything done again then this would be the first place I'd seek!

Superb experience pre and post THR in Oct 2022. All of the team at this hospital have been 100% professional and caring at every stage and I have nothing but positive feedback to give. Particular mention should go to John M, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and his colleagues who undertook my surgery and to Sharvari and her Physio team who were first class in all aspects of my prehab and post rehab enhanced recovery that has allowed me to return to my sports in a relatively short period of time. Thank you so much!

I went in for a total hip arthroplasty. My consultant Mr John Morley was brilliant, he offered me the hip replacement and from start to finish it has been a great experience. I would like to thank Mr John Morley for the great job he has done, and thank all the staff that looked after me before and after my surgery, everyone was so kind and friendly, it made my stay very comfortable. The room was lovely and food amazing. Im 8 weeks on from having my operation and all is going really well. I have seen the physio department too who have helped and given me exercises to continue with at home. Many thanks.

Physio session with Ros have been fantastic. She is warm and friendly and made me feel immediately comfortable. She listened and worked to personalise my own treatment and care. She gave me exercises to do at home but wrote them down so I would remember them and followed up specifically so that I saw some immediate benefit. She knew exactly how to help and I made an immediate improvement in my recovery from surgery. She's so friendly and caring, it's almost like a therapy session every time I saw her. ā˜ŗļø

Excellent service from start to finish. Quick response to my initial enquiry for my husband who we thought just had a bad back.CT scan was booked really quickly before we saw the consultant Mr McKenna. Sadly it was terrible news (incurable cancer and he was only 42). Mr McKenna contacted our GP that day with his concerns, my husband was then admitted to the RBH the next day. Mr McKenna even called my husband to see how he was (something he didnā€™t need to do). Iā€™ve also used the circle to see a cardiologist, Dr Chow, who was also excellent. Just a shame I canā€™t afford to always go private. If I could, this is definitely the hospital to use.

The care and attention that I received at The Circle Reading from Shoulder Consultant, Mr Harry Brownlow was excellent. Not only did he diagnose my problem quickly but then he treated it immediately. The pain relief was instant and I could move my arm again. Mr Brownlow was professional, courteous and with a kind manner. I would certainly recommend him.

Had surgery at this hospital and had the worst experience ever. I had to do private, which is not the cheapest pleasure. The day after the operation, which lasted 8 hours, while in my room, I heard ten times from the nurses that I should get up, I should start walking and get comfortable in the room myself, because I have to leave the clinic in two days. I have the impression that I was just thrown out of there and no one cared how I felt. I don't even recommend going to this clinic.

Iā€™ve had fantastic experience at Circle Reading. Everyone from receptionists to nurses, anaesthesiologist and my surgeon made me feel welcomed and I felt assured my operation will go well and it did. On the day of the operation I wasnā€™t even worried or nervous, I was actually excited to have it. Thank you all for the best care Iā€™ve had in the UK!

I had an Ankle fusion done at the Circle earlier this year, and I canā€™t praise the Circle hospital enough, they were excellent in every respect, all the appointments were bang on time and staff were very professional and always bright and cheerful. Reception / pre op nurse / X-ray / physio / ward nurses / anaesthetist and Mr Mahadevan who who did such a wonderful job on my ankle, a very helpful and approachable consultant. I canā€™t thank you enough, it will be life changing after 5 years of pain. Michelle and medical secretary Sue Spencer who have been most helpful throughout. Rob Varndell (a very satisfied and grateful patient)

Gwendoline (pre-assessment nurse) was just amazing! So helpful and friendly and made the whole experience quite pleasant! Everyone was on hand to help if neededā€¦ I was given enough privacy but making sure my care was attended toā€¦ the catering staff were amazing. Following a fairly major operation the service made it a great start to the recovery process

Minor and only feedback is that you could use some water fountains around the hospital, especially for visitors. Only way to get water was through catering. Otherwise excellent service, I was comfortable and well fed. All the staff were kind and attentive. Room was clean, lots of space and quiet. I was well informed on everythinv over my stay.

I ordered a latte coffee no proper latte glasses. I was given a cup and saucer. I have osteoarthritis and due to that my knuckles are swollen. I could not get my finer in the handle of the cup as it was too small maybe a childā€™s finger yes but not an adults. I was therefor given a paper cup. The coffee was not nice from the taste of the paper. But i was still charged Ā£3 for a small paper cup 3/4 full. Safe to bring a bottle of water next timeā€¦..

Cant recall any negative aspect of my visit, everything was run efficiently, professionally, attention to detail, check steps in place at all times, all persons at each stage were clear in their explanations, always made to feel comfortable and informed, never anxious, nervous, waiting too long. Post op was the same check, check check, explained after care, physio and what follow up will be done and when. From the patients perspective it is a well run operation (no pun intended).

My procedure was minor and straightforward and I encountered no issues. I was concerned about something on one day and when I re--visited the hospital for a different unrelated procedure the staff dealt with my concerns and I saw a doctor and my consultant was contacted. All was fine.

I cannot express how grateful I am for all the wonderful treatment I received before my total knee replacement and after. All of the staff especially Mr Andrade and my physiotherapist Kevin. Without them I wouldnā€™t be where I am now. I feel like totally new person. Next my hip operation when the time is right. This is such an exceptional hospital. Thank you so much.

All the staff I encountered were amazing - but I particularly remember the theatre nurse who took me to the operating theatre and was there for me as I woke up in recovery. She put everything into making me feel safe and cared for.

  • 2/5 Gillie R. 7 months ago on Google
As a whole I feel the communication was poor and opportunities to communicate with me to ensure I was informed were missed. I frequently felt that I had to make phone calls, appointments to both understand and keep the momentum of my treatment going. I understand there were many difficulties along the way and good valid reasons why my treatment had to be delayed but these were only given to me when I pushed hard to get information. I felt a vulnerability and lack of information as well as confidence in how I was being treated because of this. When I compare how I felt with how I was treated and informed under The Forbury clinic with Matthew Cherko and his team for my thyroid problems and operation then The Circle and Mr Pollards team were clearly not as good and my confidence and experience suffered. This isnā€™t a complaint, I want it to be treated as constructive feedback because of course the end result is that I got the treatment I needed but it could have just been a better experience.

Good experience. Been here a few times for various things. Consultants are very professional and courteous. Reception staff are polite and helpful. Parking is really available. It feels modern and open. There's a cafe in the reception area, although it isn't open all the time. Having been to other private hospitals, this is actually my preferred one if I get the choice.

Each time Iā€™ve needed to go in I have always been met with the warmest smiles and care by all the people working there. From reception/check in to the wards. I was well looked after.

Had a full hip replacement at the Circle in May this year. I had excellent treatment, from my surgeon, all the nurses and physiotherapists and support staff. I was self funding, as I do not have insurance and it was a big commitment for me, but I was in very severe pain. I have recovered well and am now able to get back to my activities and enjoy life again. I would highly recommend anyone in a similar position to consider the Circle. I cannot praise them enough.

Ever since my first meeting with Dr. Goal last year i had 100% trust in the trust. From people on the desk all the way through from surgeon, anaesthetist, nurses on level3, kichen staff (food was great), even the cleaners. Everyone made you welcome. So polite & courteous nothing was a problem. Also like to add the pre-physio meeting with Charlotte Wood was brilliant, really put my mind at ease. An absolute catastrophe. I went for an appointment for a consultation for a minor issue to be told by receptionist it had been cancelled. She called the clinic upstairs who said theyā€™d tried to call me (they hadnā€™t) but my appointment had been cancelled due to my recently diagnosed heart condition! I donā€™t have a heart condition, had palpitations on the drive home before I spoke to my doctor though! By the time I got home another appointment had been emailed to me. It was clearly bull....from the operator! Shambles

Firstly I had an appointment for one day, they wrote me a letter 2 days prior to this (received the letter one day before my appointment) to confirm the date and time of my appointment. Arrived and was told it was cancelled and claimed to of called but they didnā€™t. Wasted my time. Secondly arrived to my next appointment. My Appointment was at 3:30. Was told to arrive 15 minutes early. I arrived at 3pm. 45 minutes after they told me to arrive still waiting to be seen. Didnā€™t get seen until 4:20pm. Members of staff were rude when I was asking how much longer Iā€™d have to wait. Dr I saw was great though.

After a major surgery, absolutely no doctor came to see me. All I got from the recovery nurses and the ward nurses is that week donā€™t know, doctor will come by tomorrow to talkā€™. The doctor are excellent, the staff is great, nurses are excellent. But administration, overt polices need a lot of work. They need to have better polices in place.

Where to start? This is a wonderful hospital. Private medical insurance has been the best investment I have ever made for my family of 5 and itā€™s latest (now 3rd) use was for my shoulder surgery yesterday. In a nutshell: Easy access by car/bus - non central location is a bonus. Free plentiful parking. Efficient reception staff - minimal time waiting. Short walks to any waiting and treatment areas. Very clean throughout. Plush seating, nice cafe, light and refined atmosphere. My first radiography appointment was for 8am. I arrived at 7.50am and was having a coffee afterwards at 8.10am. Unbelievable. Every single member of staff I met from the cleaners and the auxiliary support to nursing and clinical were all welcoming, polite, knowledgeable and courteous. It felt like a hotel. First class experience with the shoulder team, this was my first general anaesthetic and it was a breeze. Woke up to a smiling face in total comfort, oblivious as to what had happened. Admitted 7am, surgery at 9.30am, I was ready to go by 11.30am. Cappuccinos on tap. Couldnā€™t have been better. Not everyone will enjoy such a stress-free experience or a quick recovery I know, but if you want a great team of caring professionals - go to The Circle.

I chose circle reading due to the reviews, however, I am feeling a little deflated. I am an NHS patient and I wasn't aware that any operation needed funding had to be applied for. I was told today that not get the funding as they are not very supportive. I am in pain with my knee and even though I will require a knee replacement I am too young I cant continue to be in pain and sick ot up till I reach the the required age. I now have to wait 4/6 weeks to see if they get the funding for my knee. I have actually burst in tears over this as I dont what to do if they cant do the operation. I was never made aware funding had to be applied for. However mu consultant is lovely and has been thorough about my knee and just hope they can do this operation.

A neat looking hospital with contemporary design and modern building right in the centre of a progressive development. Hopefully they also have the modern surgical facilities with up to date equipment and new technology to go with it. The free car park is a plus that is a welcome facility. Upon arrival, and during this difficult time of Covid-19, I was greeted by a very friendly staff nurse who took my temperature at the door and explained all the procedure. At the reception I was handed a form to be filled in to register for the first time but there was only one tall table in the waiting area where I could rest the paper to write. Why not give a clipboard and a pen that would be more convenient to write? In the waiting area most of the seats are low and not user friendly! But why on earth they chose drab looking, dark colour, uncomfortable, cheap looking upholstery in the large waiting area? I recently had an appointment with a very professional, polite and extremely knowledgeable orthopaedic consultant. I was delighted to have conversation with and pleased to have chosen this hospital. The examination was thorough with no rush and plenty of questions answered.

Poor communication from the reception and no ownership. Called for an appointment, put through to secretary who rang for 5 mins no answer. Called reception again took details and promised a call back. 10 days later no response, called again, put through to secretary again with no answer and no call back. Week later I'm on the phone again, this time I called them back to be told I wasn't;t even on hold for the secretary, was on hold with them whilst they 'looked for the number' for 5 mins...still on hold now. Terrible service and communication.

Excellent care and attention both as an inpatient and outpatient, from nursing staff and Consultants. Even though I no longer live in Berkshire I still prefer to travel there for my treatment. I would highly recommend the Circle Hospital.

This has been going for past 7 months now when i first was refereed to ENT department in circle hospital earlier in January by my GP. I got the date for march for my allergic test. I took a day off from work to get to my appointment and to do my blood test. They promised that i will get my blood results in the post. Later in April when i heard nothing from them....i contacted them ...secretory was on holidays. left the message and she came back to me after 2 weeks saying we lost the results. Then i had to arrange another appointment and had all troubles in arranging a new appointment for blood test. Gave the test in Earlier in July and heard nothing from them yet. This is such an uncomfortable journey and unprofessional dealing with your staff. I am completely not happy with the amount of time i have wasted in this and still don't know where i am standing.Ā  i Would like to launch a formal complaint But staff has been so Unprofessional that they don't even bother as I heard nothing back. 7 months and no results yet........ It's a joke

Would give this place a zero if I could. Tried to cancel the surgery once due to an ECG not being read properly and so paid for a private consultation and echocardiogram. Was told the operation would go ahead only to receive a call the night before surgery to tell me part of the operation was not covered by the NHS at The Circle. The management plan was always the same from August. Absolute shocking experience. Have complained about the service I received from the beginning of the year right up until today. Am still waiting on refund of Ā£530 as was promised. My advice is don't bother. the left doesn't know what the right is doing. Nice one Circle.

I had a good experience at Circle Hospital. Thank you to Ms Lucie Watson and her competent hard working team. Despite a busy work schedule, she has a good bedside manner. Excellent attention to detail- a true, dedicated professional in every sense.

Called to make an appointment with a consultant and was told (somewhat curtly, although the receptionist remained polite) that I could only leave my details and wait for a call back. Receptionist had no idea how long before I would be called back nor when that call back will be nor whether it will come at a time that is convenient to me. So, having wanted to get an appointment booked, I am no further forward and do not know when I will be. I would have preferred to have been able to talk directly to someone with a diary and made an appointment now.

Had my gall bladder removed yesterday here and obviously had pre ops etc before as a NHS patient. It Just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff who took care of me and just want to say how friendly and helpful they all were. The op went well and I am back home recovering. The staff were really efficient and really explained things in a way anyone could understand it which really put me at ease and were very supportiveb and understanding when I came out of surgery as took a while to get over the anesthetic. Just want to end by saying thank you again to all the staff I saw and who cared for me and would recommend this hospital to anyone but obviously hope you don't ever need to.

Appointment time 12:30 Itā€™s 14:35 Iā€™m sitting in the day care ward waiting for a procedure with a book in time of 12:30. Iā€™ve seen the consultant itā€™s a 5 minute procedure Iā€™m told. 2 hours later and Iā€™ve not been asked to get ready to go and have the treatment Iā€™m just sat in an alcove behind a curtain. When my private healthcare is paying for this I expect a more professional and slick process for keeping everything on schedule. Over the years Iā€™ve had treatments at a number of facilities locally and nationally through BUPA and never once have I had the urge to complain about the service. Whilst this is shiny and new in terms of hanging around listening to an army of staff having a chat but not actually treating anyone, this place is by far the most ineffective and unprofessional facility in the local area. Whilst Iā€™m happy with the consultant, if I need further treatment I will be asking him where else I can receive it for it rather than here I think. PS - taken a while to type this itā€™s now 14:45 - still sitting here .... 14:50 Should add the staff are lovely the chair is comfortable. Still not been asked to get ready for theatre 14:55 The free WiFi works a treat though so Iā€™m able to update this in real time. Iā€™ve just been reading some of the other reviews and should add the reason Iā€™ve been given (twice) about why parking is so difficult is because the BMW staff over the road use the car park - might I suggest that they put in a barrier with a regularly changed code you need to obtain from reception when you check in .... simple solution. For the disabled bays - lasers - and signs left on cars not displaying a badge clearly stating that blocking in an unbadged car is perfectly acceptable Still not been asked to get ready for theatre 15:30 All done. When it works it works well theatre lady very lovely, everyone Iā€™ve met lovely but theatre lady unhappy she had to get me ready as the others hadnā€™t bothered. Upgraded to a 2 because when it works it works well. Bets on how long my discharge papers will take? 16:00 Discharge papers finally happened when my husband arrived to collect me, to be fair in the interim all the alarms went off for an emergency which is fine emergencies happen and they are priority - that they had no idea which bay the emergency was happening in however was very worrying. Overall - could do an awful lot better in terms of care and infrastructure - how can the emergency alarms go off and nobody knows where the bloody alarm is coming from without checking each alcove one by one?

Good choice of consultants (many seem to have left the local private hospitals to join Circle Hospital). Plenty of parking, new facility.

I came in yesterday to have my gallbladder removed and ended up staying overnight due to extreme nausea-these lovely people have been amazingly helpful from start to finish! Canā€™t praise them highly enough! Keep up the good work šŸ˜Š

My consultant was really thorough and can't fault that at all, the hospital itself is very nice compared to some NHS hospitals and there are no long waiting times etc or over running appointments. I had a few procedures there and the staff are lovely so attentive and caring towards me. The only thing that prevented it being a 5 star was that I had to wait a bit longer for some appointments, with similar waiting times to the NHS. That is my only qualm and when you are paying private you kinda want to be seen quicker than if you where just going through the NHS. The other thing was that the timings weren't that flexible either, they weren't really suited around work etc. Which other private hospitals I have been treated at before, they make sure the timings of appointments really work for you and your life schedule. Overall a great service!

The only downside is the parking is a bit of a challenge but everything else is great

overall a positive experience but i think a bit more time explaining time to heal, potential next steps would have given visit and treatment 5 stars

I had two private operations and the whole experience at Circle was impressive and friendly. The one criticism I would make is that the car park is usually full up.

Both my husband and myself have used the services of this hospital. I was private and my husband NHS, my husbands appointments were always prompt and dealt with efficiently
