I went to buy a bunny today at the store. I will say I had the worst experience of my life with the staff, you cannot ask too many questions with the staff else that will make them believe that you cannot pet the animal which is extremely stupid. The staff refused to sell the pets to me saying that I am not able to understand their language and asked to to either bring someone who can understand their language or come back after 2 weeks which I was unsure what will change in 2 weeks. They were behaving as if I was expected to had a PHD in animal petting. It was very rude and upsetting behavior by the two staff members. Definitely will not recommend anyone to go to this store.

Very helpful staff. I had my hands full and a female employee approached me with an offer to carry items to the till which was great. I left an item in store after purchase as I had to make a couple of trips to my car and came back later to get it - they were expecting me and instantly handed it to me. Great!

Whilst I cannot complain about the most helpful ladies at the Vet upstairs the man at the till who said his name was Don treated me like I was a total idiot who knew nothing about raising kittens...let's just say when a person spends close to £100 and wants to buy a particular type of cat sand, you let them. I have raised kittens from a day old and have had cats my entire life...but his nonsense and verbal threats does not put the company in a good light. Shame on you, Don!

Pets at home are great but do not use the one at Reading retail park. Got a ticket from Reading retail park for £100, or £60 if paid within a certain time. My wife popped into B&M after work, I later went to Halfords. Apparently there is a no return for one hour policy. I returned after 59 minutes and 56 seconds.

Staff is very friendly, my dogs love coming there. Minus one star because quite often there is shortages of dogs food on shelf (at least that what I usually buy).

Pets don't come first here. Check the fishes, you will always find a few stressed or dead ones eaten to bones by the other stock. The Tilehurst branch specially has badly maintained aquarium and rude staff. They sold me sick fishes in at least two instances. The other pets at home stores in reading are comparably well maintained and stocked.

I brought 2 female Guinea pigs and one died suddenly took he body to the vets and they said that she had something wrong with her heart and I called pets at home up and the manger was very rude and saying they can’t do nothing about it and that the vets where wrong. When I brought them I got told that if anything was wrong with them or one died call them and tell them and they could do something. I’m appalled that they don’t care about there animals or anything wrong with them.

They would not sell a hamster to you unless you buy the cage from them. I guess they dont make profit on a 10£ hamster,but when they sell a 90£ cage they do.

Big shout out to Max. He was extremely informative, helpful, patient and friendly when it came to buying a hamster and all the accessories. Such a wide variety of products to choose from as well and nothing seemed in short supply - was able to find everything we needed.

Great shop sells everything, great fast delivery as well, staff go above and beyond.

Was so impressed that even though it is in a big brand pet shop, it still maintains a lovely small independent feel. The staff are lovely and the advice given was really good. We felt that the vet cared and wasn't about the getting money which is what we felt at other vets.

What an amazing store, very helpful staff with so much knowledge on the product they sell, one staff member always helps me I believe her name is Michell (purple hair) she is amazing, thank you from us and the dog (Bear)

Terrible customer service, it took me 30 min to reach the store and I was there by 7.40 pm and the guy who assisted us, said he can't sell us fish as it takes more than 20 min to do billing ... I have bought fishes form this store before and in past it only took us 5 min to do the billing. I requested couple of times as it was 30 min drive , he said sorry please come tomm Such a time waste, stores like this should put customer first and I was there between the service hours .. Very much disappointed

My partner took our 6 and half year old Jack Russell, She couldn't walk properly and they said our dog has torn something in her right rear leg, but last night ( 4 - 9- 2022) we had an issue with our dog with a spasm, so we took her to emergency veterinary only to find out that she has problems with signals from the brain to her legs isn't working properly, so be careful what pets at home are saying, they were wrong indeed, if we lose her because of pets at home they are going to be in big trouble.

I have found most of the staff to be very friendly and helpful with one exception on one occasion. My biggest issue is that I find that I cannot always find the kitten food that our kittens prefer which is disappointing for a large franchise.

They have almost everything in stock. The best thing is the staff, they all love animals and are really good with them. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Have had very good fish from this store which have lasted many years. They have a good selection of fish and products for them. The staff are friendly and helpful. My daughter also loves to look at the other pets when we pick up our supplies
