Red Lodge is a very busy place and we were afforded some respite here in this Bistro. The small menu selection is tight, delicious and unique. I had the sea bass with a blueberry vinaigrette sauce. Additionally we ordered the elk and a Jeremiah Johnson scotch, which is similar to a stout and delicious. Highly recommend

Black Canyon Bistro truly provides top notch, delicious provisions. The bacon wrapped dates were divine little bites of goodness. I could have eaten them like candy. The scallops were excellent, tender and flavorful, as they should be. The elk carpaccio was fantastic. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, on top of simply being a high quality meat. The shrimp was cooked just right (I will say it was too salty though). The Brussels sprouts were just fine, but could be improved upon. Friends had the French onion soup and the steak & endive which they said were excellent as well. Our sweet waitress Aleah (probably spelling that wrong) took great care of us! looking forward to returning. P.s. they have happy hour even on weekends 4-6! The appetizer menu is $10, and $2 off signature cocktails and wines.

My husband and I came for dinner on a Saturday evening around 5, we got the cutest little Private booth in the back and it wasn't too busy. I have several dietary needs/allergies and it was amazing to see a menu that stated everything could be made Gluten Free. I was so excited it was hard to choose what to order. Pasta Thermador and Elk Medallions were both excellent. With the exception of a couple items everything on the menu really can be Gluten Free and that is why I will continue to return! Drive from Billings is worth it. Best dinner we have enjoyed together in a while. Thank you !

We hired Black Canyon Bistro to cater our weekend event and we couldn’t have been more pleased!! Their food was AMAZING, service was great, communication was prompt, clear and easy and prices were very reasonable. Booking them was one of the best decisions we made for this event. I wish I’d gotten more pictures! I was too busy enjoying the meals!

My first time in Red Lodge, someone told me Black Canyon Bistro was great, it lived up to the recommendation. I sat at the bar and had nice drinks but the star of the show was the ribeye steak, simply prepared but every bite was delicious. The atmosphere is upscale and the service matches the atmosphere.

This could have been great… The food was sub par. Tuna was chewy and let me unsatisfied as the portion size was very minuscule. The main course was ok but I am thoroughly dissatisfied with the fact that no sides come with a main course. 40 bucks for a main dish and then another 12 for a side of asparagus that was so chunky I couldn’t even chew it. The Brussels were dry and had very little sauce on them. I was very disappointed with my 200 meal. I could make this better at home for 30 bucks. As a local I can say, save yourself 100 bucks and go eat at the carbon county steak house or prerogative kitchen where they have better chefs and flavor. I had higher hopes for this place but skip here and go somewhere else. Live music was way too loud and I couldn’t even hold a conversation because everyone around me was yelling just to hear each other.

Had a wonderful meal last night. Bacon wrapped dates were the perfect flavor and textures. The curry scallops were delicious… the butter cake with salted Carmel ice cream was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had, pastry chef gina even came and visited with us finishing off a wonder experience. Thank you BCB strand for a great evening!

I’ve eaten here numerous times and it is always a great experience. From the staff, to the drinks, to the food, everything is phenomenal. I like to get the French Dip at lunch, Chicken and Elote Cakes for brunch but my favorite is Black Canyon Bistro’s dinner service. I normally don’t get steaks at restaurants because I always cook the best cuts and steaks at home. That being said, Black Canyon Bistro has the BEST ribeye. I always find myself ordering it and never regret it. Definitely give this locally owned restaurant a go!

Stopped in for an early supper. Bacon wrapped dates were great. My wife had the duck entree and she loved it I ordered the elk stroganoff worried about how "gamey" the elk might taste. But it was exquisite. The sauce and hand made noodles were fabulous. Highly recommended. We will be back
