In town for the night. Decided to try a German restaurant. Staff was helpful and friendly. Had the Sauerbraten meal and Reuben with onion rings. Both were great choices. The Reuben sandwich was filled with meat. Onion rings were great. My husband enjoyed his Sauerbraten meal.

Terrible- avoid. Service, food all terrible. Orders incomplete. All came out at different times. Wait staff annoyed that we complained. Brought out half the apps. No plates no napkins. Made us all sick. Avoid

NO OPEN BOWL ON A SUNDAY! In a town with nothing to do with a family and they shut down the WHOLE place to use a THIRD of it for a tournament.. Then rude about it when you walk in to ask.. Don’t waste your time in this dump. Go to a neighboring town that’s better!

The food is great! You know how you know? The Bierstube has been in Red Wing for 20 years. If the food wasn't great they would be closed. They also know what they are doing because there are 5 other Bierstubes in the Metro area. You know how many they have closed? Zero. The atmosphere is robust but not so loud you can't here the person you came with. The room is clean and the staff are friendly. An early review said the drinks prices are high. I don't know if they are, but it helps keep the loser's out. So well done. You don't want to eat food in a place that has cheap drinks. The owner should consider a patio and maybe update the video games. I quit playing pong like 5 years ago. The german food is authentic but they don't beat you over the head with it as their are many other offerings. To keep the creepy guys out the waitresses don't dress like the German waitresses in all of those old movies. Did you know in the past he has let mother's eat free on Mother's Day? Put that in the suggestion box the next time you want to have the best meal in town.

Burger was great, onion rings burnt. Beer was good. It had been a few years since I have been here. Going to wait a few more before going back.

the food was not very good. the server brought 3 waters for 8 people. then acted bothered that everyone wanted water. our food came before the appetizers and the soup. we did not want the soup after we ate. that was a bother also. not a good experience. also, the bathroom had no soap, nothing to dry your hands with, and no toilet. and NO, it was not busy. when I told the server, they acted as if I was bothering them.

Bierstube USED to be the place to go....not anymore. They were very few customers and we watched as one couple got up and left after never being approached by waitstaff. Another Father had to go ask where their food was because he had hungry kids. It was clear our waiter has never been trained. We never got our salads. One of our meals was never ordered. Dinners came out randomly over 20 minutes so no one ate together. I could see the meals sitting under the warming plate. All I had to do was go up and grab them and serve our table but I knew that I wouldn't be able to do that. and there they sat for at least 20 minutes or more. They had run out of rice and never told us. We were there 2 1/2 hours. Not until we started to get frustrated did any waitstaff jump in to help. It is clear that they have a serious training and manager issue. If they do not get it under control quickly, there won't be a business to save. Normally that place is so busy you have to wait an hour to get seated but there was literally plenty of seating and no waiting for anybody. Except for your food of course. And I get that there is all new staff, but there's no excuse for terrible service or lack of training. It will be a long time before I go back. I'll be watching the reviews to see if it gets any better.

The waiter, couldn't get any of our orders right, never even brought my granddaughter hers. The kitchen screwed up making grilled cheese sandwich. Nobody in our group was happy.

Bartender was awesome, had a great time until some people came in and decided since we were drinking bud light we were all not welcome. Bad for your business for your locals to tell us we're not welcome in your town and establishment

I went to the Stube late on a Saturday night, because they were near where I was staying and they were open. My expectations were quickly exceeded by the service and experience at this location. I look forward to the next time that I'm in town, and will be returning again!

Great food and service! The chef even thanked us as we left! Always enjoy their German cuisine!

Waitress said they were out of German food, I ordered a Reuben, and they didn't have any thousand Island dressing. My husband's onion rings were pretty burned, but he had a nice sandwich which was supposed to have some pickled veg on it, but didn't. All in all, shmer

I ordered the all you can eat fish special and they ran out of fish and the waiter did not tell me and still let me order it. It took an over and a half to get our food. Which mine just had a couple pieces of fish. Mine came with soup but they ran out of soup too apparently and tried to pass it off with baked beans and the other order came with French fries that never came with French fries and when we got our food after that long wait it was starting to turn cold. Their garlic bread was just cold bread with a bunch of garlic powder poured on it. The waiter also took a half hour to get our drink order which was just two sodas. He was more interested in the other table that came after us telling them they will get their food right away and how much money he makes in tips because he is a good waiter. They received their food in a half hour. Never going to this place again, horrible experience.

The waitress was great. The Reuben egg rolls were great! Gave 4 stars because really wanted to get a Reuben sandwich and the German liver but was told they are not serving any German food. So we had to order burgers. They were good but not the food we hoped for. Well go back for egg rolls and hope they are serving German food.

Food was yummy, great burger! Nice place to come and hang out with done good grub!

The Taste of Deutschland was great. Will definitely be eating here again!

Food ok. The Schnitzel was not what I'm used to, very thick cut. I'm used to the Schnitzel in Germany, thin and breaded. One of my Schnitzel patties was burnt, had that burnt after taste. Mini Burgers were Ok for the kids and the fish was pretty good. Spaetzle was undercooked, doughy. All in ok, it was ok.

Although my order was entered incorrectly, the Reuben sandwich was great 👍

Had the fish fry which was pretty decent. Prices seemed a little on the high end for the quality and atmosphere.

Bratwurst platter was ridiculous! So good. Fast service, personable, and great prices for great German food.

Some of the best food ever, authentic German food and all tasted great!

I love the asparagus plate. The staff is wonderful and the place is clean and a great place for our family to meet for lunch. The specials are always a good value!

We had a great night tonight! Our waitress was only there a few days and she did an awesome job for us. Hubby had the fish fry, I had the sauerbratten and both were really really good! Chefs know what they are doing! Will be back!!!!

Great food at a very decent price! It was cool to watch the cook work! Service was fast and very nice. My kids loved the decor!

German Restaurant? Staff was nice and corn beef and cabbage dish was great, wouldn't mind a bigger portion.

Always good. Fast service. A "go to" in Red Wing for affordable tasty meals.
