Holy Cacau’w! Saw Sophie_B had rated highly and she’s got good taste, so why not. Why has it taken me so long? What a fantastic little place for lunch. The menu is really vegan friendly and the owner ‘Hamiliton’ is lovely, as the waitresses. The food tasted fantastic and we had … Feijoada £9.90. A trad Brazilian black bean dish with vegan smoked sausage, served with boiled rice, farofa (looks like breadcrumbs but is made from cassava (yuka)) and collared greens. My word, what a plateful… what a delight. The family recipe is the best I’ve had. Caldo de Feijao £5.20. A trad Brazilian creamy bean soup with vegan sausage served with oregano olive oil croutons. The beans came from ‘Hamilton’s’ home town in Brazil and it really was creamy, thick and very filling. Vegan Hot Dog - Brazilian Style. £5.30. A hot dog which tasted really really good. The vegan mayo with their homemade sauce and mustard perfectly rounded it off. It’s described as Brazilian but the potato sticks made it more American?! Perhaps a Brazilian staple like potato salad or a side salad? Vegan cheesy chips £3.90. Not the usual poor quality vegan cheese, but nice runny cheese which had melted properly - guilty sin 😉 Would I go back? Yes … like this week Would I recommend. Yes. #Veganuary

A wonderfully cosy and welcoming place. The cakes are out of this world. So moist and luxurious. Excellent coffee as well.

Went to Redcar just to see the town since i'm on a UK tour. This cafe is probably one of the only thing that kept my attention (apart from the beach and esplanade that very nice and refreshing), otherwise the town is pretty uninteresting Very good brazilian food, delicious cakes and coffee, service is also very nice and the place is cosy and warm ! It's a very nice place to eat for lunch + it's not so expensive (14 pounds or so in total with quite a big meal, a HUGE slice of cake and a HUGE coffee) + a lot of veggie options Would definitely recommend !

Popped in to this lovely little cafe on a Saturday afternoon. My husband and I have walked past several times during our walks from Saltburn to Redcar and back. We finally went in last Saturday and we were glad we did. The owner and the other members of staff were so friendly and it's just a lovely laid back place. Paninins were great and the coffee gorgeous! The young lady there recommended the homemade sause that is on the tables and it's delicious, we bought a jar before we left. Cakes looked amazing, so next time!!

Lovely food, lovely staff. Family run business. Food cooked from scratch in on-site kitchen. Favourite of ours. Still lovely. Lovely tomato soup. Lovely to visit and warm up on a rainy cold day in Redcar.

Really enjoyed our visit to Cacau! I had the vegetarian Feijoada which was lovely and a really generous portion - went well with the Cacau chilli sauce. It would be great to see even more authentic Brazilian cuisine on the menu 😃. The cakes looked incredible but I was so full I wouldn’t have been able to manage one. Will definitely be back! Obrigada!

A lovely little cafè at Redcar, not a great deal of places to go for lunch there anymore but luckily found Cacao whilst having a mooch about. Small but cozy and comfortable surroundings. The cakes looked amazing and were massive but we didn't have room after our lunch. Good choice of menu including some Brazilian options, all reasonably priced, would absolutely go back....if only to try some of the cakes that were on offer 🤤

A little gem in the middle of Redcar. Great gluten free menu, although we didn't eat this time. Did not expect to find such a great independent cafe. We'll definitely be back

A really interesting selection of fruits that we typically do not get in UK supermarkets. The owner is lovely and always happy for a chat. There is plenty of on street parking too!

A perfect little patisserie in an otherwise abysmal town. This place is definitely too good for Redcar. The food is always perfect and the service is incredible. I feel terrible that I can't remember the owners name, but he's such a lovely person every time we go in. I've since moved away from Redcar but any time I return I will always come here for a beautiful experience in Cacau.

Absolutely great place, can't believe it took me this long to try it! Just today myself, two other adults, three children and a small dog had some lovely food here (loads of vegan and veggie options) the service was amazing and it's such a great atmosphere!

Delicious cake and extremely tasty pao de quejo like “doughballs”. The best coffee in town. Welcoming and very attentive staff. Excellent!

It's worth coming to Redcar for this place. Best place in the coast. Very nice and helpful staff. Everything we tried was delicious and fresh. An ideal place to meet friends and family. Original interior design. I will definitely come back. I recommend - 5 stars.
