While the staff was friendly, we were extremely disappointed in the quality of the room as a whole. The bathroom was very outdated and needs to be thoroughly cleaned and updated. There was discoloration and scum in the bathtub as well as on the toilet seat. Having children with us, I felt that we could not be them in the bathtub. The Keurig coffee maker looked like it had never been properly cleaned with tons of mildew in the water department. For the price we would never stay here again or recommend this hotel, sadly.

Great location right off I5. Near Costco, Starbucks, and other stores and restaurants. Room was clean and large. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Public areas were nicely decorated. Small bar and restaurant on site. The only suggestion is they need a fan in the bathroom. Would definitely stay there again.

The location was good & friendly staff. The room needs to be updated and the bed was very uncomfortable. The lobby is nice but our room is in need of updating.

I've floated by this hotel umpteen times while fishing nearby, and wondered what it would be like to stay in a room with a view down to the river. Now I know! The staff is excellent: friendly but professional, and attentive. The facility itself impressed me as in need of renovation. It could just be that I drew an older room, but I also noticed cracks and wear in the floor of the elevator in addition to the staining on the chairs and the wear on the tables and such in my room. From outside the hotel is impressive, and the price -- a tad over 200 with taxes included in mid-October midweek -- seemed to promise better.

This place was great! We had a room on the 1st floor by the elevator and it was surprisingly quiet! Bed was comfortable and the shower was great too! The staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was better than the usual continental, but pricey and the omelete was over cooked; great french toast though. Our view was not the city or freeway, but lovely green grass. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip. My other family members stayed in a hotel on the other side of the I5 and paid way more for less. Pick this hotel! You won't regret it!

Most certainly needs a renovation. Rooms were clean but obviously well used. Mattress probably should have been replaced a few years ago. Pool and spa area is closed but they couldn't be bothered to mention that on the website. Breakfast at the restaurant was very tasty (I had the breakfast sandwich). And service was friendly and attentive.

Been here twice, love the hotel & cleanliness. The use of needing a key to open the front door and hotel room is very nice since it makes me feel safe. One thing I noticed this morning though is that there is a stray kitty here, not sure if thereā€™s a few but I noticed a cup of milk and a bowl of food, pretty sure theyā€™re for the cats. I have never seen a hotel do that and I love that! Not only they care for us and the overall of the hotel but they even accommodate for the kitty here! ā¤ļø

Location was OK but the pool was not cleaned nor the hot tub and in the fitness center, the peloton did not have a subscription so I couldnā€™t even use it and there wasnā€™t even a bench for the weights. They literally had three chairs in that room. Who the hell is sitting down and relaxing in a fitness center? Stupid. Was I supposed to use the three chairs put together in order to work out? Idiots.

Note that happy hour ends at 5:30! Just missed it. Our dinner server at the restaurant was pleasant and fun. Flatbread was unique and good, Caesar salad was cold and fresh, and the tomato bisque was very flavorful. Prices seemed a bit high but we appreciated the convenience of not having to go back out in the heat. Our room seemed clean and was roomy, comfortable, and quiet. Complimentary water was appreciated. The decor in the room and bathroom was a mix of colors and types of furniture, paint, flooring, and tiles - would be nice if it didn't all clash. AC worked well. The pool was a welcome relief - warm in the water, and cool when getting out. Really liked the 12pm check-out.

Beautiful Lobby and restaurant and the loved the service in both. The rooms, though. Wow. Super roomy, but the furniture needs either a power wash or preferably a replacement. The carpet is circa 1979. You can see the dirt on the chairs and the couch. Surfaces were not wiped down. Do your customers a favor and renovate. At the price point they deserve it.

I called this hotel instead of booking online for two specific reasons. I wanted a top floor room that was pet friendly for our dog. A room was available for our dates and I was quoted a price so I booked over the phone. We checked in and while we were bringing in our luggage and pooch, front desk informed me that there was a $75 pet fee and no notes on our reservation about a dog, which I mentioned at least 3 times during bookingā€¦..Swing and a missā€¦..we were tired, and reluctantly paid the fee. After going back and forth with front desk, the night supervisor called us and said we could discuss reducing the fee upon checkout. I thought it was odd we had to wait for checkout, but whatever, I was exhausted. Should have known betterā€¦ Upon checkout, I was told there were no notes about reducing the fee and that there was nothing they could do since management would not be there until Monday. No supervisor present eitherā€¦.STRIKE 2!!! Frustrated and feeling deceived, I called Hilton customer service and filed a complaint. When I finally got a response two days later, I was told that I should have been aware of pet fee because it is on their WEBSITE, which I never even visitā€¦..STRIKE 3!!!! Cancelling Hilton Honors membership. At Hilton, there is no honor.

$75 non refundable dog stay. Nothing for your dog, no dog dishes, no treats, no bed. Most of us who travel with our dogs have well behaved dogs that are well kept and well trained. How unfortunate šŸ˜ž

I only ate breakfast at the restaurant. The food was great. Everything was hot and cooked perfectly, nice size portions. The service was amazing always made sure your drink was full and to checked to see if you wanted more or something else.

When I researched the reviews of the property, there were a lot of negative comments about the condition of the flooring. I was a bit apprehensive, but I thought that I would give it a try. From what I saw, the flooring appeared to be worn, but I've seen much worse. I had a comfortable stay- the room was clean and quiet. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was decent. Overall, I felt it was a good value.

I'll remember this stay forever, it was amazing. Our dogs were treated like little royalty, and everyone at the hotel, guests and staff, were just so lovely to be around. Maybe we caught people on a good day, but it was like entering a little pocket of good human nature. We traded dog stories with a lovely gentleman (were you the chef, my dude?) who surprised us with some tiny sausage treats for our babies! And the FOOD HERE IS GREAT! You don't expect that at a Hilton Garden Inn, but wow. The room service was lovingly handled, and everything we ordered was above and beyond what we expected taste-wise. Good, cozy bed. Clean room. Thick walls. We will stay here again if we pass through Redding!!! Thank you everyone.

Easy to find/hwy access. Hotel seems a lil outdated for a Hilton but my room was nice and clean. Staff seemed friendly. Parking was secure and the surrounding area felt secure. What makes this place nice is the restaurant located in the hotel. Food was good. First night the server seemed very unhappy and the service showed. Second night, the gal that waited on me was great and made up for the grumpy fella the night before. Nice place overall.

The hotel lobby, customer service and restaurant are great, however the rooms are not. The rooms are in desperate need of a remodel and are not up to Hilton standards. I had to change rooms twice upon check- in. The first room had stains on the furniture and a hair in the bed, somebody also left a phone charger. The next room was no better, stains again on the furniture and a big yellow stain on the drapes. After the second room, the maintenance manager escorted me to the third room so I could check and see if it was up to my standards. After a long day of travel this is not how I wanted to spend my night. The carpeting needs to be replaced in all the rooms, along with the coral stained chairs. On a positive note, the restaurant was great, good breakfast and dinner. I will not stay again, unless the rooms are remodeled.

It is not one of the fanciest hotels or newly renovated. Staff was friendly. Biggest issue I have is I should have been informed the first floor is typically for pets. Being unaware I didn't know to check the bed for issues until my little kept complaining about smell. Whoever cleaned our room did not clean or treat the cat pee on the bed prior to putting clean sheets on. Slightly warm (water doesn't get super warm) showers to try to clean childs hair and body of cat pee and clothes that smell. Unless you have a pet don't stay on the first floor.

The building is old, but seems to be extremely well maintained - looks nice inside and out, no bad smells, everything looks and feels clean. I actually liked that 50's - 60's ambience, very well preserved and presented - yes, carpet in the corridors and some room furniture are old, but somehow it feel almost appropriately old, if you know what I mean. Room was very clean as well, and was well appointed, small fridge and (obviously) microwave and coffee maker included - no in-room small safe, but that would be highly optional. The room was also surprisingly quiet, compared to most hotels I ever stayed at, even some much newer and pricier hotels. In-wall air conditioner was keeping the room at +72F with outside in the mid-nineties without constant turn-ons and is not excessively loud, noise level is probably negligible if you use earplugs at night. About the only downside was that the window could not be completely shaded, so there was morning light coming into the room. People working there are really nice, in a good no-nonsense way - sincerely polite and down to the business. Good location for us, about halfway between the airport and main part of the city - having free airport shuttle option was very convenient. Restaurant was also excellent, with very good quality meals that also happened to be relatively inexpensive. Overall, one great place to stay, I would definitely do it again if the need comes.

Check in was fast and pleasant. The breakfast was delicious and the servers seem to really care. Rooms are spacious and have great views of nearby walking trails. Right off freeway and the Costco across the way was also a pleasant surprise.

Nice hotel. Beds were very comfy. But the room was underwhelming. Did not like the light switch on the outside of bathroom. My kids did though. Breakfast was good. All in all I would stay again.

If you're forced to sleep in Redding, this place should be near the top of your list if looking between mid and high end range. The views are not overly amazing but the service is. As of this time, open bar and restaurant for breakfast / lunch / dinner. Every member of the staff has been amazing both times. The rooms have been perfectly clean and spacious (king bed room). Surprisingly good food too. Location may kind of be lacking, but some walkable convenience options and In N Out nearby. They treat you right here.

The Hilton Garden Inn in Redding California is hands down the best place to stay anywhere near Redding. Conveniently located off Interstate 5, it's an incredible property with amazing team members that make everyone feel special. More like a resort than a Hotel.

The rooms are old and dated. For the price of the room we were disappointed. Hilton spent a ton of money on remodeling the entry way and lobby area (it was impressive), however the rooms are very unimpressive for a "Hilton". The staff was great and very friendly. We stayed in Room #222 and the Bathroom had about 15 dead gnats stuck on the ceiling with in addition to a small amount of mold on the ceiling. The show/tub has what appeared to be dark colored mold stains near the bottom tile grout near the caulking (gross). Additionally, the bathroom was very small and the towel rack was mounted inside the shower on the opposite end of the shower head. The hotel room walls had a lot of scuff marks. The gnats and mold issues appear to be caused by poor ventilation / air flow compounded with inadequate ceiling cleaning. The sheets and mattress were clean and appeared to be newer with the exception of what appeared to be a brown coffee stain on the mattress at the foot of the bed. We stayed here on a Friday night at a cost of 45,000 Hilton Honor Points ($225 USD. equivalent). We are Diamond members and disappointed to find out there was no longer a "free breakfast" but instead you have the option of a $10 "breakfast credit" for up to two guest.. This meant we had to pay an additional $15.95 for each kid (no breakfast credit is provided for kids, even though we booked the room with 2 adults and 2 kids). You can get purchase a continental breakfast (no meat) for only $9.95 (but who wants a cold breakfast?). Our total for breakfast was just over $78 dollars including tax and a $10 tip for the waitress (not including the $20 "Breakfast credit". The breakfast is essentially all you can eat, but it wasn't worth it for the little amount of food the kids ate. In hindsight we would have saved about 20% - 30% if we'd just gone to Denny's or Pancake House. Additionally, the Keurig machine water reservoir was very dirty and nasty, we choose not to use it and would recommend checking it before using the machine. For the price of the room and cleanliness level, we were disappointed in this Hilton Location. We attached photos of the room and issues. We did not complain or report the issues to the hotel staff, we did not want to waste our time. We also felt it was unlikely they werenā€™t already aware of the issues.

The service was good, the lobby was nice, but the room really needed a refresh. The tub was stained black in the bottom, the carpets were dingy, and the desk chair was sticky. My overall impression is that housekeeping is doing the best they can with the time they have, but the furnishings are just old and overused

Highly recommend Hilton garden in Redding, California. The facility is beautiful and clean. The staff here are friendly. Tere is a mini restaurant here where they serve breakfast and dinner. I had a great breakfast experience here. If you are a Hilton honor gold member or higher than you get two free breakfasts per room or get the points; I recommend the breakfast. If you are not a Hilton member then you can buy breakfast for just $15 (it's definitely worth every dollar). It is important to note that breakfast is UNLIMITED. Yes you can fill yourself up until you can't take it anymore! Most of the breakfast you get from hotels are just mediocre but here you get good breakfast selection that is better than general breakfast restaurants but without limits!šŸ˜€ We were highly satisfied with our breakfast experience here at Hilton garden in Redding. Overall, I highly recommend staying at this Hilton.

The staff at the Hilton were AMAZING! Kind, went over the top, consistent, and just all around beautiful people! The only negative is that the beds/mattresses just felt really old and hard. Clean, but not comfortable like the standard of Hilton I'm accustomed to. The fruit at breakfast also could have been refreshed more often, but this is on Hilton and their food order budget, and not their amazing staff

This hotel is just off I5 for easy access. Gas stations and Starbucks not far. Check in/out very easy. Room key access is GREAT! Room was very clean. Restaurant on property, great selection and room, service available. Great stay!

Great service from the staff and location close to the free way. The day time manager was very friendly and helpfull. The property is very clean, however an update would be nice, the carpet in the caridoors were tired and worn, our bathroom had grout missing in the shower which lean to some hard to clean area that looked bad and the room was not as clean as expected when we checked in.

  • 2/5 Edson H. 1 year ago on Google
$210 per night not great but OK - but the additional $130+ per night was excessive for what you get. Apparently you have to request room servicing @ the front desk (we missed that requirement). We followed the signage in the room that said leave tag on pillow if you want clean sheets and towels left on floor and we didn't hang the door tag outside that said you did not want your room servicing. We called when we got back second night & staff was great & had sheets changed & clean towels. Carpet was stained & seat bracket in shower had broken the tile but was still usable. Not what I expected from the Hilton!

Nice easy location to get in and out. The rooms are quiet. But we were in the top floor. The floors seemed a bit noisy to those below but we had no complaints. Been here many times. Always good

Stranded in Redding due to heat delays at airports. Nice choice. Super quiet, no thundering elephants above us in our middle floor room. Not too crowded probably because no free breakfast, but you can order a la carte items if you eat light like us. Free Coffee. Our room was nice. Overall very nice one night stay, nice staff.
