Readers take note that all the good ratings for this place were from a couple years ago. It used to be great and we have been eating there for 35 years, but it recently has become terrible. The last two times we ordered, the food took more than an hour and was cold when delivered. The first time we waited 90 minutes. The second time the food had been spilled and was all covered in greasy juice that we had to clean up just to eat our meal. We ordered online and after they charged my card, called to tell me they didn't have one of the items, and insisted I order items that cost as much as the one they cancelled, then changed my order to a more expensive item so they would not have to refund anything. When I called back to discuss it, he repeatedly yelled at me that the item was more expensive as if that made it ok. He could have made a loyal customer happy, but instead earned a bad review.

Oh no! They are really suffering over there. We ordered takeout online, a pretty large order, and decided to pick up at the restaurant. We got a notificationthat the order was ready. When we were serving up our meal, we noticed that the entrees varied from slightly warm to flat out cold. 2 of the 10 items were warm enough to eat right away. The others needed heating. When I called to ask why this might be the case, I was quickly shot down with "if you don't like it go somewhere else", "everyday is bad, no workers' and then hung up on. The food tasted good but I can't figure out why they wouldn't care that they are selling cold food. They should cut down their menu, update their online orders, call customers when orders are in to let us know they are running short staffed. Too bad we won't be patronizing anytime soon again....

There seems to have been a change in ownership and the quality of service and food has taken a severe beating. It had been our go to neighborhood Chinese restaurant for several years, but sadly no more. We ordered from them in January, and the food was so bad, we had to throw most of it away. Should have learnt our lesson, and moved on. However, we decided to give it another chance last week, and the food was equally disappointing. Won't be ordering from here anymore 😕

Food was very plain, not the good taste at all, overcharged $3.00 (a little extra Chilli and tofu). Hot and sour soup wasn't good, tasted burned. Others -- so plain, we decided to not eating all of them -- very disappointed 😒. We tried mixed appetizer, only ate the wonton chips (burned too), spring rolls (okay), chicken (too dry) -- we were hungry. We decided to order another food from Vietnamese restaurant. Definitely won't be purchasing again (Ordered from grub) - Dec 2021

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY!! Ordered Fried Shrimp and got peel n eat shrimp with the shells still on covered with half crispy coating. No flavor in the hot sour soup and egg rolls that were super mushy inside. Got charged and delivered a large soup when I ordered small, TERRIBLE MEAL!!

We asked about a recipe, we felt rushed. We also weren't informed of extra charges. He brought out the dish and it was mostly celery...hardly any shrimp...if he had told us ordered something different or have it taken out...I asked to speak to him about the extra charges. I said that they made a mistake and he said no no...we charge for everything...I just wanted three dollars taken off my order...I didn't know about the charges and he was rude He wouldn't do that. So we didn't tip

We had a bad experience and are trying to resolve it directly with the restaurant but because they won’t respond to us in person or on the phone… We placed an order for delivery and we’re told it would be there in 40 minutes. After more than an hour we called to check on the ETA and we’re told the driver would be right there. At an hour twenty - still no delivery so we called again and we’re again told that the driver would be right there. 10 minutes later we tried calling back and there was no answer. Tried several times - nobody would answer the phone. We gave up - ordered, and went and picked up Mexican food. Almost 2 hours later to the minute, the delivery driver for Emerald Garden came to our door. I explained it had been 2 hours and that we’d gotten other food. I asked what he would’ve done? He said he got stuck in traffic and had to make another delivery and walked off immediately. We live 5 minutes from the restaurant - with bad traffic 8 minutes. Had they told us on the phone when we called that their delivery driver was slammed - we would have happily picked it up. We’ve eaten here and had deliveries several times before and generally been happy. We really don’t want them to lose business (other than ours) over this. But they’re refusing to talk to us or refund us for food we didn’t get. Disappointing. We realize times are tough for restaurants and are sympathetic to a fault. This could have been so easily resolved.

As someone from Sydney who is used to eating a lot of Chinese food I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The food was very nice, the Kung Pao Chicken had the real dried chillies, the noodles were delicious and they had lots of chilies that could be added. Excellent food and excellent value.

If I could give less than one star like a -10 I would it was such an awful place the manager was so rude he charges for things that we didn’t even expect to be charged for and they put stuff in my food that I was allergic to . I asked him what was in before ordering . He left out info .I told him I was Allergic but he would not fix I am sick. If you want to pay extra beyond what your order was and you want to eat food that taste terrible And maybe have a suicide mission . Then this is the place for you I’m considering calling my lawyer The worst place I have every been

My suggestion to the owner. RETIRE! Food is bad and you know it. You do not do or say anything to accommodate a legitimate complaint. I have been your customer since 2007, but today was my last time to eat there.

I called in an order, the guy kept rushing me, wasn’t even sure if he got the order or the credit card number down right. Two hours later I’m standing in the rain Flashing my flashlight on my phone waving this guy down the restaurant keeps telling me any minute any minute,as they sent the oldest man to deliver to my house. I watched for an hour as he drove past my house over and over and over again sometimes would stop here or there but just kept going. I finally and literally ran out in the street and pounded on his car at which point he just sat there for another five minutes before he opened his door. I was starving when I ordered and I Now have absolutely no appetite. To make it worse the restaurant stopped answering the calls and refused to reimburse me my $60, 90 minutes into the wait. Naturally the food was cold. It’s not a matter of never eating here again, I honestly hate this place tonight!!!!! Kick rocks

Walked in, the air conditioning was running so cold it was actually uncomfortably cold. We were greeted by a confused guy who asked us what to drink but did not bring menus. A while later a young fellow brought us menus and said the prices on the menu were wrong and asked if that was okay. The tables were sticky and the floor wasn't clean. It was also dead silent in the room to ensure we could hear the only other guy in the building eating his food out of a box? I don't know if the food was good because we left.

Can't even enjoy my food. Extremely disappointed. The food was infused with like grill char or something. Very distasteful shrimp fried rice. This is extremely wrong.

Great Chinese food at fair prices. Try the Emerald Beef.....delicious. Delivered quickly with food still hot! But the only flaw IMHO is the rice is not included with the entrees. We ordered 5 entrees and no rice came with it. That's my only complaint = 4 stars.

I ordered online today, 9/22/23 via their preferred methodology. Website states they open at 11:30am. Wanted food ready at Noon. Got confirmation. Drove over to pick it up, door locked, no one answered the door, no one answered the phone. Really wanted wonton soup for my daughter who is sick. They called me at 12:30 asking if I still wanted the food? I said No, you were closed when I went to pick up. Will never go back again. They lost a customer. No hours posted at their restaurant, no open/closed sign.

This place is awful! I ordered food through Ubereats, did not receive an item, called them and the guy who answered the phone was extremely rude. He's telling me my item is in the bag. It was not and he did not attempt to resolve the issue. He just yelled as if I had a comprehension problem. Don't eat there! The prices are too high to have to endure the horrible customer service. The food is good, but unfortunately, I won't be giving them my money again. There are too many other Chinese eateries with good service that would love my hard earned dollars.

Awful service, awful food, awful postion size. Staff extremely unhelpful and just plain rude. Place was a mess I would dread to see th kitchen.

DO NOT GO HERE, THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU. False advertising of prices is illegal and the man here told me to my face that we purposely leaves ten year old prices on his menu so he wouldn't lose money.

This is legitimately one of the worst restaurants in all of Los Angeles, maybe even on the planet. There is something seriously wrong with their food. We threw almost all of it away. Do not convince yourself that it cannot be THAT bad - it is. Eat literally anywhere else.

For the price and wait time I wouldn’t go back. Plus the food was just decent. You get a lot but it’s the taste that lets me know the worth and for the wait time. Meh. They focus more on online orders then the orders in the restaurant. I ended up getting it to go because I was sitting for more then 30 minutes for the food and I was the only one in the restaurant. I ordered shrimp curry, beef and broccoli, side of dumplings and Rangoon’s for 60ish dollars and waited about 36mins. Maybe I got them on a wrong night but you can try it yourself, I’m okay.

Went in on a Friday. Was empty, didn't smell like any foid. Just cleaning products...Clorox specifically. Ordered orange chicken, lemon chicken, beef broccoli and combination chow mein (shrimp, beef, and chicken). The chow mein a d need broccoli was okay. Nothing I would crave from there. Orange chicken a s lemon chicken was terrible. They charge for drink refills. They have high chairs, but it's not a kid friendly place to eat. Wouldn't recommend this location. Oh the egg drop soup was good.

This is my go-to place for Chinese take-out. It is familiar comfort food, not challenging authentic Chinese food or fussy fusion cuisine. I especially liked the hot braised shrimp. On the down side, the atmosphere is a little budget, and I'm not sure I would take my wife here on date night.

  • 1/5 Bennett A. 4 years ago on Google
Just as expensive as surrounding Chinese restaurants, the sweet & sour pork was soggy from too much sauce as was the egg foo young. The orange peel beef was okay as was the chow mein, but no napkins, hot mustard or sticky white rice (what Chinese restaurant doesn't at least offer the option to buy it as a side or just include it?), and the egg foo young was very lite on the chicken. It wasn't worth the price tag, especially since their packing was so bad that there was sweet and sour sauce all over the other containers. I doubt, very sincerely, that we'd order from here again. There are just too many better options.

This is a good place to dine in. Lady who runs it very friendly and food is great. The reason I gave only 4 stars because when I was picking up for to go, food didn't taste good and was cold. Lady, who is probably the owner would offer you tea while you wait to pick it up.

The food is good, middle of the road spices. The service was sub par. They seem to be more geared for take out instead of seated guests. I had to get up and go ask for chop sticks and water twice. We were served on childrens print plates which I'll post a picture. Our food was slung onto the table because the guys phone was ringing. They need a server/hostess to cover tge dining area. I tipped 19% and my dinner guest thought that was too much.
