🫤 I'm a current resident of Sofi Redwood Park, and I'm going to try to be as upfront about the pros and cons of this place as possible. I'll start with the pros. First, the apartments are spacious. I rent a 1 bedroom and I've never felt cramped in the slightest. The kitchen appliances are also pretty... I'm a current resident of Sofi Redwood Park, and I'm going to try to be as upfront about the pros and cons of this place as possible. I'll start with the pros. First, the apartments are spacious. I rent a 1 bedroom and I've never felt cramped in the slightest. The kitchen appliances are also pretty nice and seemingly modern. I also like that I have a little balcony area, despite some of the wood planks of the balcony looking a bit crumbly. The grounds of Sofi Redwood Park are also well-maintained and beautiful, there's an abundance of plants and colorful flowers that are pleasing to the eye. Now, on to the cons. To start, your packages will be delivered to the main lobby area, and almost never to your door like the mail carriers are supposed to deliver it to. And then your packages will be stolen by other residents, especially if you order clothes--they seem to love stealing my Victoria's Secret and Urban Outfitters deliveries the most. In addition, management is not the best at solving certain issues. They've known for a while that our packages are not being delivered to our doors like they're supposed to, and that they're just being left out on a table or on the floor in the lobby ... and yet, the problem persists, so they clearly haven't done enough to solve it. It's ridiculous that I now have to pay for a P.O. box because many of my packages will get stolen if I have them delivered to Sofi Redwood Park. I've had other problems, sometimes even minor ones that should be easy to handle, that have not been fixed after repeated prompting and emails to management. In order to de-stress from this hassle, you might be tempted to take a nice warm shower. Unfortunately, the water temperature will often change from warm to cold to warm to cold and back again without you ever turning the knob. I don't know what causes this, but I've had to get out of the shower with shampoo in my hair before because the water started running freezing cold only minutes after I got in. There's also a very large homeless population in the area, and I've gone downstairs in the morning before to find a homeless man asleep in the lobby on the floor. Oh, and the "dog park" that Sofi has is not really much of a dog park at all. It's just a very small area where a dog can run up and down, and it's situated right behind the dumpsters so the smell is unbearable for owners, and the area is plagued by small flies buzzing everywhere. Oh, and there's a decent amount of noise at Sofi Redwood Park. You can hear the CalTrain blaring its horn at all hours. Personally, that doesn't really bother me. What does bother me, is that my bedroom is on the second floor right above the car garage, and every time someone starts their car in the morning or slams a door downstairs, my room legit vibrates and I have to put earplugs in to block out the noise. Lastly, this building is old, and it shows in some ways. The apartments have the dreaded asbestos-indicating "popcorn" ceiling. Anyway, I could write more but I'll end this long review here.

Love the property manager Anu and building manager Alberto. They make sure the residents are taken care of and that the property is in great shape!

I was there for 13 months in 2018-19, and I enjoyed it. It's in a nice neighborhood, and it was refreshing to wake up to the redwoods planted between two of the buildings. Parking in the neighborhood for my guests was fine, and the on-site gym had open equipment most of the time. I give four stars for two reasons. First, there was only one operating dryer for all of the 1304 building for most of my stay. I submitted a maintenance ticket, but the issue, that clothes were never dry after running through the machine, was not resolved while I was there. This caused sometimes severe congestion in the common laundry area, and it was common knowledge that that dryer did not work. Second, I had to ask four times to receive an accounting as to why I didn't receive my full deposit back. I finally received it nearly two months after I moved out. For those interested in the applicable timelines, see California Civil Code Section 1950.5. When I received an accounting, it included items, such as a carpet cleaning, that were clearly not intended to address damage exclusive of ordinary wear and tear. Again, see Section 1950.5. Overall, I enjoyed my stay there, and I hope this review helps!

Quiet neighbors, very fast response from maintenance on work orders, well-maintained updated apartments. Disadvantage is that it's a busy street, so if you have to make a left turn out of the complex at rush hour to get on El Camino Real... good luck. Generally I park on the street facing the direction I need to go out later to avoid the issue. (During COVID times it's less of an issue.) 15-18 min walk to Caltrain station. You can hear the trains from the apartments sometimes, but not very loud, so most of the time I don't even notice. Management is usually responsive to emails but can be a little slow sometimes if they miss your email. While Whipple Ave can be busy during rush hour, most of the time it's pretty quiet. The neighborhood is safe and great for walking/jogging and very dog-friendly. While perhaps lacking in amenites, it's not something I use, and something I'm glad to not be paying for. There is a pool and an exercise room with just a few cardio machines. The property uses "Wash" company for the washers and dryers. Overall it's small but great, well-kept property at a good location with a really nice management team. In all my 20+ years of living in apartments, this one is my favorite!

Very noisy street. Very hard to drive out of apartments the street is so small for how busy it is and theres a line of cars backed up and you can’t even get out. Theres always some kinda of work being done so the entrance is always blocked or closed. Very loud leaf blowers every morning even on weekends. All the units are full of dust and leaks. Mover trucks are constantly blocking entrance or exit. You pay for assigned parking even though you may find someone else parked in your spot or be told to change spots with someone else. The laundry room is always full most of the time. The apartment is very small and old for being $3,000+. There is a huge homeless problem , they are always roaming around the apartments looking for things to take at night. There is a bike area that has been broken into many times. There has been criminals run into the apartments to hide from police. In 2017 there was a meth drug lab in one of the apartments that got raided by Homeland Security. There are many other apartments that are better and easier to commute out of then this one. If I could rate it 0 stars I would.

Please be careful when applying to live here. They require $300 deposit with the application. They say $300 is refundable if you decline before the application is approved. We did that, but we still havent gotten our deposit back. Only property manager Nancy Ong can request the check from their HQ in FL. It's been over a month despite Nancy saying they sent the check and "overnight" a second request. But still nothing? When asked for proof that the she requested the checks in the first place, we got ghosted. Super sketchy.. Management here is incompetent, unresponsive, uncaring, and unprofessional. When we were considering living there, they were so nice and complementary...UNTIL YOU DONT.

Been here a bit less than a month but so far so good! Everyone has been super helpful and friendly with renting from out of state and arranging what I needed to move in. Very happy with the apartment too.

This is a review for Alexandra, the Property Manager at Sofi Redwood Park. After the building was bought by Pinnacle Properties, we were hesitant about this property because of all of the changes they were going to be making. We really love living here and the cozy esthetic. Alexandra has been wonderful in the transition process. She truly cares about her work and is extremely friendly. She keeps us up to date on everything that is happening to improve the building and you can tell that she really cares about the residents. Thank you Alexandra, we truly appreciate you!

Worst apartment that we've ever lived in. Their extremely inefficient management makes me wanna get out as soon as possible. Our neighbor downstairs complained that his kitchen ceiling started to have leakage problem last Monday night. The manager came to check our apartment immediately, and found nothing leaking. Two days later, on Thursday, she finally came with a maintenance guy to examine the water content in the wall. And then nothing is done. On Saturday, the neighbor complained more strongly, and we suspect that the kitchen sewer pipe is broken that cause the leakage, so we stopped using kitchen sink for drainage (but we still use the kitchen water tap and counter table for cooking, we just use a basin to catch all water and pour water into the bathroom toilet, which is extremely painstaking), so no water go to the kitchen sewer pipe. And consequently, the neighbor says no leakage since that. This Monday, I called the leasing office to ask them when they would fix the leakage, and I was told the maintenance guy will come and examine. In the afternoon, I called to ask for any update, unbelievably, I was told because they forgot to ask for my permission to enter my apartment, and because the maintenance guy had the wrong phone number, they cannot enter my apartment. Seriously? How come they never called me for that, but rather waiting for me to call them? This Tuesday, the maintenance guy finally came, but still couldn't find the reason why the leakage happens. He says he believes the sewer pipe is not broken, and the leakage is cause by water dripping from the counter table, and he will check tomorrow. Eight days, nothing is done to fix the problem. The most inefficient apartment management team I ever met. Do you want to live in this place? I wish our lease ends tomorrow.

Been here 6 months and am happy. They respond quick to complaints and are quick to fix things. All the maintenance staff are very nice and I trust them. The staff in office are nice too. The apartments are quite (most of the train is muffled out due to trees, but you will hear and notice it in the dead of night). Out of all the apartments I looked at in redwood city this one has reasonable pricing and nicer apartments (compared to the others in the area, the building is old but everything has just been remodeled of 2013). Still single pained windows though. For the price range and the location these were the best I ran across. My only complaints are my parking spot, which I've had changed multiple times. The building I live in just has an awful parking lot, either under trees with lots of birds or covered but almost impossible to pull out or park in. I chose the bird poop, I could not pull out of the covered space without help. There is tons of street parking for friends and a second car. Edit: my neighbors do smoke, it is only a problem if we leave the windows open. We usually just close the windows if they start smoking. Edit 9/30/13: I have been here almost a year now, still really enjoying living here. They have become a no smoking apartments complex as of today. They say it will still take a year to enable completely. I've gotten my notice for lease agreements for the next year, provided with a 60 day notice. Rent in the area has raised and this complex isn't cheap anymore, but equal with other comparable apartments. We have discovered that there are only two different circuits in the main room and kitchen. Which can be a bit of a problem if you use a lot of appliances or electronics like my partner and I who have beefy desktop computers, a personal AC and normal kitchen appliances. Some care has to be taken about where things are plugged in.

Apartments just hired some people to fix the driveways. Constant noise , no one can get in or out. The driveway was fine and didn’t have a single problem. Its probably all the extra money they have from charging 3300+ for a small 2 bedroom apartment a month. They should focus on the inside of the apartments rather then the outside. They wanna make it look appealing for new residents but its not that great once you’re inside. The only apartments in the area that has constant construction. They do more harm to the residents than good. People have babies and jobs to go to. They don’t need this extra stress to find parking and wake up and have to arrange a new time schedule. Many better options then this place. Oh and by the way they just fixed the driveways maybe a year and half ago and now there doing it again ? Sounds like money to just throw..

The apartment complex isn't new, but it makes for it with the staff. At the time of writing (March 2019), both Stephanie and Mark had been helpful when I had problems with unit, and reasonable when it came time to renew the lease. I'd recommend considering this complex if the people factor is important to you.

Sequoia has been home for my family for the past 6+ years. We've seen many different managers come and go; some okay, some horrible. We have had our voices unheard, our needs ignored, and the apartment complex used to look like trash. Fast forward to 2017- we had a breath of fresh air when Stephanie joined the management. Previously, we never had any events to bring our neighbors together, and since she's been around, we've had several. We used to have a crappy gym with broken machines that never worked, and now we have an actual workout room; I've never seen a rowing machine until recently, and it's amazing! There used to be piles of bikes blocking the gate from opening, and now we have a secured storage facility. Dog poop used to be all over the place, and now dogs have their own gated area, and the complex is just so much cleaner. No more poop and cigarettes, and more flowers and green grass. My kids love stopping by the office and saying hi to the ladies, and of course grabbing a snack on their way out. Even after the office closes, Stephanie can sometimes be seen walking around and making sure lights are working; one night I saw her outside fixing sprinklers in the dark! We had a power outage and Stephanie was out there with the repairmen until the wee hours of the night making sure we were okay and didn't have any questions during the unfortunate situation. I've never seen any other manager at sequoia, or any other apartment I've lived at for that matter, show so much dedication and concern for the building and the people. I was considering moving out when my lease ended this June, but with all these positive changes, I just renewed for another 15 months. Sorry Sequoia, you're stuck with us! Thank you for making us feel like we are home.

I’ve been here for 2 1/2 yrs. Overall it is a quiet & clean building. Just don’t have any packages deliver here or store any valuable bikes in the bike cage because they will get stolen. I am fortunate to be able to send packages to my work so I do that instead or the Amazon pick up locations. Work orders are taken care of quickly for the most part and the wash rooms are usually working and clean but if not there are some in the other buildings that can be used. It seems this part has gotten better over the years. I do enjoy it here and my neighbors are all very friendly. If you’re not a dog lover this isn’t the place for you. I feel like almost all renters have dogs including me 🥰❤️❤️

I've been living here for a year now. Anu and Arshak in the office and Alberto the maintenance guy are very kind and understanding. Questions/concerns through mail and phone were addressed quickly, and any maintenance problems were also taken care of quickly and with no hassle. The building is clean and well maintained overall

Honest opinion: SoFi has been a nice place to live so far. The beginning was shaky but management has always been on-top of things. Nancy and Arshak were amazing at getting things fixed quickly and keeping in touch. It is a pet friendly complex, which is wonderful and our pup has made many new friends here :) The grounds are nicely kept and Alberto in maintenance is awesome and friendly. His team does a great job in making it pretty here. You don't see many of the residents around and we wonder sometimes if we have neighbors, it is that quiet here! The majority of them are friendly when you pass each other, which is nice. Parking is secure, just too bad it’s extra $. There is not enough parking on Whipple after 6:00pm unless you want to walk a block or 2 and when you have medical problems and groceries, it is hard, so you suck up the price of paying. At times 1 washing machine is broken in each of the laundry rooms and people leave their belongings in the washers and dryers for hours, so doing your laundry can be a bear at times. But you can go to the other building if needed. We love the palm trees in front and watching the squirrels run around. We have never had any issues with packages being delivered thankfully and they are put on top of mailboxes. Arshak was the primary face in the leasing office. He has to be one of the nicest guys around! He brings a feeling of warmth and laughter to the building when he is around. There is a whole different vibe when he is not there! We enjoy our residence here and we feel safe, which is a great feeling after a long day at work. Updated* Anu is now in the office and she is wonderful to have around. Alberto is back from leave and everything is 'back to normal. It’s nice to have people care about their residents. . My family and I really enjoy living here!

I also really enjoy their enthusiasm in trying to make everything better and improve the residential experience! I would definitely recommend the sofi redwood park to my close friends and consider coming back in the future!
