Hotel

👍👍 Hands down the best hotel in the area for the money. Great neighborhood, parking was good and free, so bonus right there. To me their bed linen was the icing on the cake it has always been clean, smells great, and as soft as an angels kiss, and i am not exaggerating in the least. I hope your stays... AWFUL. The owner/front desk operator Wendy appeared impaired, was rude and unprofessional. I wish I would have dug through these reviews - many note the same kind of erratic behavior. Wouldn’t let my friends who had a separate reservation leave until they paid for my room- when it was paid for by me. Threatened to kick us out of the hotel for not paying when she took payment at check in and had evidence of such right in her hand (a receipt with my signature) 20 Minutes before that!!!! When I returned to also show my proof I was charged she denied she had questioned my payment at all. She went through our room while we were down at a restaurant and was caught by our other friends staying there as well and then lied and said she hadn’t. Double charged my friend and refused us refunds when we said we no longer felt comfortable to stay in the establishment due to the unprofessionalism and lack of boundaries. DONT EVER STAY HERE!!!! What is advertised is also not what you are charged it’s almost double on the charge with no explanation and they refuse to provide you a receipt.

Old city center hotel that has been kept up for appearances but not for hotel comfort. Old bathroom fixtures and all rooms on 2nd floor. Has microwave and fridge in room. Only one luggage rack available per room. Shower old and slick with no grab bar. Sheets nice and soft and comforter warm. Rooms spartan.

What a hidden gem in the town of Reedley! I stayed here while out of town for a business trip and had a flawless experience! From the immense amount of historical significance to the hospitality provided, it was a memorable experience. Wendy, the owner, was the most customer-centric and transparent owner I’ve ever seen operate a business. Not only did she persistently check to see my needs were met, but she also invited me into her personal life/world during our 40+ min conversation one evening. Wendy shared ceaseless positivity through her vivid personal stories, experiences, and motivational speaking; many of which will be remembered and carried throughout my journey. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I’m pleased to have chosen this place over a typical large-chain hotel. I will certainly make a return visit to Hotel Burgess. To Wendy and her family, keep reviving the natural beauty of this building as you have been. “We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us." - Winston Churchill

First the workers are really nice and sweet. The atmosphere is really nice, you’re basically in an other time. The room was clean and you have an AC plus fridge which is nice. But you don’t have any soap, no curtains for the bathtub so you’re struggling not to spread water everywhere. The last bad point is that it’s loud. You can hear the train very close ( it’s not that bad ). An alarm went on for 30 minutes during the night at 2am and it did wake me up. This and the lack of convenience for the bath tube are the only two problems. If you have a tiny budget it’s fine, you have what you pay for.

This is a Historic building here in Reedley, and I love coming to stay here. The owner and staff are so very nice, helpful, and can answer any questions. Plus, they are just great hosts! I come here about once/month, and have been in many different rooms. But they are all very cozy, have a clean country sheak feel to them, and I have always enjoyed my stay while here. This is a family oriented, not an all-night party type of hotel and I LOVE that because I feel comfortable bringing my kids here. I'm even comfortable with them walking to the lobby alone and outside for a walk if needed. It has been a pleasure watching this hotel transform into the wonderful hotel it is today...and I am so greatful the owner brought this masterpiece back to life 💕 If you want to stay in reedley, and have a peaceful trip...stay at the Burgess!

I made the mistake and went off of reviews. We got to the rooms and the beds had hair all over the manager took us different sheets and the replacements also had hair on them it was disgusting we left early we wanted a refund for the last day since we checked out early but the manager who had been nice at first turned out to be completely rude and denied us a refund even though the beds were filthy ..please dont come here..we wanted the refund for the unused night

This is a very unique hotel if that is what you are looking for. I have to say the hotel was wonderful. The town is noisy though. Other than that it was a nice stay. I asked for extra pillows and was given more. The water was hot. The room was clean. No complaints.

Very nice and clean rooms and the woman at the front desk was really sweet. I like the feel of the hotel, now I'm regretting not taking any pictures of the room or the hotel in general but I definitely recommend it. There are restaurants and other businesses at walking distance, very convenient.

This is a great hotel if you like the old west feel. The staff is amazing and extremely friendly. The rooms are clean. There is no breakfast offered but there are amazing restaurants just steps away.

The room was clean, but lots of road noise. the shower was a joke, it comes up to my chin and has 3 small streams with no pressure at all, a hose would have worked better. No ice machine or breakfast snacks, I won't be back.

Hotel was super cute. Had blinds, but I felt it needed blackout curtains. Light came through to early

Not satisfied at all I called to make sure there was vacancy while I was outside the hotel and they told me there was but a soon a they seen me and my family which is me,my 11 year old sister and my my mother (we are all African American) she quickly changed her statement and told us they have no vacancy and refused to help us find another hotel I felt highly discriminated just because we are black and this is just me being honest!

Hotel Burgess in Reedley, CA is a true historic gem! My son and I truly enjoyed our visit. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with two generous beds separated by a partial wall. Wendy Rivera, our host, is friendly, professional, and very helpful. She shared with us the wonderful history of Hotel Burgess, which dates back to 1889. We look forward to our next visit at Hotel Burgess! Thank you!!

Straight up the hallway looks like a scene from the shining. Other than that a cozy little hotel.
