Reliable to a fault. Food always promptly served and with a smile. I've been through the menu (fish excepted) I sometimes have to "tailor" the dish as I'm a picky eater. It's never a problem. I go to other places when being entertained by friends but I always come to The Hollybank ready to be spoiled and I always am. In short, they never let me down.

Saturday evening, hadn't booked but managed a table for 3 ,made it just in time before no tables left,service was excellent and food was of a similar pattern, no real wait,staff were attentive but not in your face,food was excellent even the harshest critic "my mother" asked for a takeaway for next days meal. We all enjoyed our meal ,I had French onion soup first time in years absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend a visit and with dog 🐕 friendly area in bar your best pal can come along.

My partner and I went here for lunch yesterday. The food was served quickly, was hot and tasted great. The service was excellent, and staff very polite and friendly. We will definitely go back. Both chicken and beef fajitas were excellent

Great little restaurant. The waiter was extremely friendly, clever, and witty, with good knowledge of the menu. As this was one of the first places in which we ate in Scotland and are used to dining later, we accidentally overstayed our welcome and kept the staff from closing. Despite this, all staff were very friendly. The food was great - I had the Wallace burger topped with haggis. This was my first experience with haggis and it was very good! Highly recommend checking this place out when visiting the city.

The food is usually good here but the service wasn’t as good the steak was ordered medium to well done and we ordered 4 portions of potato cuts instead of chips. All came with chips but swapped over and the steaks were all well done and had been checked with slits on steak but still served. Will definitely come back and hope service was only a blip on this occasion

Was a special birthday lunch on Sunday for 8 ,and the venue was chosen by the birthday girl. We had a bright window table with a nice view onto the gardens. The venue was a great choice. Super menu which offered something for everyone's taste. I opted for one of the specials. Others had from main menu most dishes had the option of vegetables or salad, chips, mash or boiled potatoes. Wow! . The whole meal was fresh, delicious, perfectly cooked and served on really hot plates. Service was friendly and fun. Can we say a special thank you to James and Amy who really looked after us..
