After eating & drinking our way around the Riverland for the last 4 days we finished up at 23rd St for dinner. Wow. What an amazing experience. Such an on trend space gorgeously carved out of an old winery/distillery lovingly refurbed for a new lease on life. Luke who provided our table service was warm and knowledgeable. The meals were generous and flavoursome. Beautifully presented but sadly no room for dessert. Im sure they were good. Back for (amazing) coffee this morning (and maybe a few bottles of gin) Do yourself a favour & set a waypoint for 23rd St. It wont disappoint.

I was very impressed with this place! 1. Food was delicious! I had a cauliflower steak and 3 cheese arancini and I could not fault either of them. If you are vegetarian, these are a must try! (See pics below). 2. Service was fantastic. 3. The cocktails are delicious, strong, and fairly priced :)

Beautiful place and a must visit if you’re in the area. The ambience is lovely, service is very good and food and drinks are good value for money. We tried Japanese Jin, tandoori chicken, and beef burgers, all were tasty.

Some of the workers were helpful. We ordered meals 2 were very nice but one burger wasn't cooked. Then it take some time for the another one to come out. Drinks were forgotten had to ask for them again. The men where more on top of things then the girl's. Very clean and tidy.

What a find! Right on the corner where we turned to go to our campsite, a distillery with tastings of an amazing range of their own spirits - gins, vodkas, a brandy and a whisky. A “Palate Liberator” flight tasting 5 spirits was a worthwhile $15. Looks like it would be a nice place to eat too!

So in love with this place! An absolute elevation to the area with great gin and food options Gin is as much of a staple in our house as pasta and rice, so passing through Renmark I was so excited to try it. This place didn't disappoint - great gins/alcohol available (for taste and purchase), friendly staff and beautiful location. We sat down for some drinks which paired perfectly with the food available Renmark is up-and-coming, and this place is going to be a cornerstone. Big fan!

23rd Street Distillery is known as a South Australian icon , and worth making the trip to the riverland . It is quite a large space , and you can choose between both inside and outside seating - the inside almost like a big barn with wooden exposed beams and fairy lights strung from the roof . We had made a booking , so were shown to our table . We could smell the aroma of food as we sat down .Kudos to the staff - the long trek from the kitchen to the patrons must keep them fit . My friend and I ordered various entrees - the pan fried haloumi ( with an native dukkah honey , perfectly accompanied by baby vine tomatoes )and wood fired carrots and pan seared green beans with almonds . I added the corn ribs with the chipotle dipping sauce and fresh lime ( which I throughly enjoyed, the sweet corn juices dripping off my fingers ) and a serve each of sticky belly pork bites with rum and bbq sauce . The pork was cooked so well and the crackle light and crunchy, covered in a sauce that they could definitely bottle and sell individually. Could not fault the food . I also had two flights of gin - the Sweet and Spiced flight served with a sparkling soda which included the Tropical Gin , the Quattro gin ( navy strength) and the Pomegranate vodka . I’m not really a vodka drinker but I was pleasantly impressed with this offering. The other flight was the Heart and Soul served with a dry tonic - which made a huge difference when added . When neat the botanicals were at the forefront and you could definitely smell the liquorice in the Signature Gin - but when the tonic was added the citrus flavours came into their own . The most complex I found was the Violet Gin , and I loved the taste of the lemon myrtle and cinnamon. We spent about two hours here and could have easily spent longer . If you don’t like gin they offer there own whiskey , as well as cider and pale ale on tap, as well as non alcoholic drinks for the unlucky person who has to drive home .

Pork was so amazing the sauce was so good I ended up ordering fries just to eat the rest of sauce.. halloumi was really great too. Perfect blend of sweet and salty and the tomatoes went so well with it.

Lovely and spacious with great grass area. Food is reasonably priced and there's a good amount of merchandise.

And they say “only the Scottish can produce great scotch” - 23rd Street proving Australia has a great understanding of modern age contemporary scotch - all three uniquely different whisky’s each a treat.

Service was non existant, had 1 menu of food to share between 4, no drinks menu, and glass was never brought out. 2 plates of food were brought out about 40 minutes after the first 2. Brisket burger was just a patty and only warm, not hot. Gin was good, but overall, I would just get it from a bottle shop and wouldn't bother or recommend the distillery to anyone. The staff didn't seem to care about their guests dining in.

Decided to make random stop because we sell their gin at work. I definitely wasn't disappointed, the food and the cocktails were great. Service was great even though they were packed the food was out quicker than expected

An absolute highlight of the Riverland, with great food - either to share or have your own, and even better drinks. The cocktails deliver on flavour and quality, priced at either $16 or 18 and their selection of non-spirit drinks is great too. Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. Overall excellent place to spend an afternoon!

The drinks were great. The bar staff were really friendly. Kids meals were huge and yummy. Adults meals were okay. I order the tandoori chicken and it said it was served with onion rings which I assumed (and I think everyone in the world would assume) were going to be deep fried deliciousness...they were raw rings of onion! My friend ordered the salt and pepper squid which wasn't anything resembling salt and pepper squid...it wasn't coated in rice flour as per description and didn't have a rocket salad (just a garnish of pea shoots). Also our empty plates weren't cleared until we left - which was about 1.5 hours after we finished our meals.

Great venue, 3 different tasting flights to choose from, plus a beer option. Food options from snacks, platters and meals to accompany the drinks. Many designer spirits available to purchase. A great place to visit.

What a great time we had blending our own signature gin, not as simple as you think!!! Food great too, salt and pepper calamari with chorizo and salad was so delicious

**EDIT** Since posting this review I was contacted by the Venue Manager personally who was not only apologetic but empathetic and listened to my experience. She did not hesitate to offer any means possible to make amens and went above and beyond to ensure we felt validated. I will visit again now and I have been assured that our experience will be much better, so this I look forward too. We were very excited to visit this iconic distillery and enjoy an afternoon in the sun with the family and a glass of gin. But this is not what we experienced. We were told that the beer we requested was an empty keg and had to have cans instead as it would be two hours until the keg was cold. The cans we were given were warm so first beer was not enjoyable. Then after we ordered meals two of the 6 people received their meals 30 minutes before the rest. There was zero table service and glasses and rubbish piled on the table even though we were told it was table service. One person who received their bowls of chips received it cold and then waited the half hour for a fresh bowl. Very disappointing for a lovely day for a family outing. We had every intention to purchase some bottles of gin but after what we experienced, we purchased from BWS. Terrible table service, poor food quality and not good enough to have warm beer on a hot November day. Will not visit again.

Excellent food and service by Gemma. We had 2 different gin tastings and 1 whiskey. All beautiful. A Customs House platter that was more than generous containing pork belly, loukaniko, baguette and pickled beetroot. A couple of us then made room (not sure how!) For a Margherita pizza which again was excellent value and generous. Highly recommended experience.

We attended the distilleries breakfast launch. The food was amazing. The staff are so friendly. I would definitely recommend the distillery for anything from breakfast, a relaxing lunch or dinner, or if you want to experience a relaxing drink or tasting experience. This place is awesome, do yourself a favour and put a visit on your to do list when your in town.

Staff were very helpful and polite. What a fantastic place to stop for an afternoon just make sure you have a deso driver, you'll need one😉😁🍹🍸🍽

Beautiful experience! Had a seat in the courtyard, which was cool in the shade even on a hot day. The perfect place to spend an afternoon sipping three G&T's. Staff were very helpful. Pretty extensive menu, with a good few vegan options.
