I just went and picked up my lunch from here. I can't eat bread as I have a gluten intolerance. I asked for my burger to be lettuce wrapped and I paid an extra $1.50 for Avocado. I also specified no onion. All of my burger an toppings was thrown in to the container and the lettuce for my supposed wrap is wilted and disgusting. I paid $18 for this and it's a complete let down. I've never had this terrible of service here before. What a shame.

Came in for breakfast with my kid's My daughter and I had the chicken friend steak with gravy, potatoes and sourdough and my son had the kid's chocolate chip pancakes. We were all satisfied with the waitress and the fresh hot food. Think the waitresses name was Leona. Amazing service, super friendly and smiled the whole time.

Incredible. Truly… everything is made perfectly. This is my 3rd time here and I’m just blown away at how incredibly good this place is. The way they present the food, the way they season it, cooked, fried, prepared perfectly. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Service is on point too. And they’re homemade ranch is spectacular.

Average 'Black Bear Diner' atmosphere. Restaurant was clean and comfortable on a Tuesday night @ 7pm. They greeted us quickly & we were seated within minutes. Chloe, our waitress, took our drink & food orders and let us know that they were down a cook, and that it would take a while longer than normal. Not a big deal - appreciated the heads up. Some patrons not as patient, left. Others decided to stay and then berated their server, and were completely rude and mean. We got our order, correct and cooked right, in about 20 minutes....not bad at all for dinner time. We appreciate the people that came to work & did their best. The cook, 2 waitresses and hostess were RUNNING. They were working hard to help everyone and people were mean. We just wanted to thank Chloe & the cook for our meal. It was appreciated

Our food was amazing and believe it or not, all the food in picture is just one order split. Izzabella was our server and she was amazing. She always smiled and was very responsive to anything we needed I will definitely be back.

The service was exceptional, with friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The food was a delicious treat, with generous portions that satisfied my appetite. But what truly stands out is the great pricing. You get top-quality food without breaking the bank. In short, Black Bear Diner is a must-visit for a fantastic meal, great service, and unbeatable value. Five stars!

This place is so good. Took a Lyft from our hotel to eat here. Smoked ham was delicious. Loaded Grits were good. Sweet cream pancake was awesome. Excellent service.

I really liked the atmosphere and style of this diner, and our server was fantastic! However, the food took a very long time (and we had breakfast), and it wasn't the best. It wasn't terrible either, just not worth the wait. The potatoes were a bit tough, hubby's bacon wasn't very crispy, and the food needs some serious seasoning. Maybe if we went at a busier time. The portions were good. I'm willing to give it another chance, but not sure if hubby is.

I went here with a friend and I ordered breakfast with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and had to add sausages on the side. Friendly and helpful staff, good service and good. One of my favorite places for breakfast, don't forget to visit the giftshop.

Another Reno gem for great homestyle American 🇺🇲 food staples. Tasty, hearty selections, great atmosphere, and fast, friendly service. The pancakes are some of the best I've had the pleasure of trying in a long time! Definitely worth a try if you haven't been there before!

Great reviews, terrible first impression. The waitress must have been overwhelmed because she acted like we were irritating her just being there. I ordered the breakfast sliders with soft scrambled eggs and a side of hash browns, cooked hard with onions. What was presented to me was the exact opposite. As you can tell by the pictures, the eggs were browned and tasted well overdone. There was a dot of cheddar cheese in the entire slider. The potatoes came out dang near raw and were sent back. The only saving grace was the bread pudding. If I came back, I'd probably just order that to go.

Wat can I say the wife n I decided 2 go out 4 Thanksgiving dinner 'cause it was jus the 2 of us, Unfortunately went round 4 o'clock The waitress told us up front that they were out of stuffing with Thanksgiving dinner so The Wife ordered the prime rib n I still got the turkey, you would think that they would have added a'lil extra sumthin 2 it which they did not n wife's prime rib was 50/50 meat n fat so 1 large piece of prime rib 50% of it not edible. (The German shepherd will score though) I do not like to give negative reviews but was absolutely NOT impressed should've at least discounted 1 meal for $67

Leona was da bomb. Service was amazing....prompt and on point. Very friendly and good sense of humor.... Food was a lil over cooked today but not her fault and she was awesome about it.... Love this place.

It was great to go to Black Bear and have the service we had. Lately, our BB visits have been disappointing. Our server was awesome. She was busy as all get out and appeared to be the only server in the restaurant. However, she was patient, efficient, and fast and had the absolute best personality. She took our order quickly without rushing us through the menu. Our food was delivered within 15 minutes, including that deliciously thick huckleberry shake that we shared. The food was seasoned perfectly, a real problem in a lot of restaurants (including a few Black Bears!), and wonderfully hot and fresh. Our drinks were freshened on a timely basis. We'll make this a go-to place when we visit the Reno area, which is pretty often.

We went for all you can eat fish n chips. Of course, you got slaw and hush puppies too. Best deal in town! I think it was $14. Less than fast food! We'll go back.

I go for breakfast when I'm in town for STN EXPO because it's close by. The food is good and hot. I try something different each time.

So, I know this a chain. Let’s acknowledge that. But they’re food is good and consistent. Mostly it’s the service and atmosphere that really lands this place 5 stars. I’ve become a regular here and the staff is so kind. They always remember me and take the time to chat, meal comes quick, and coffee is never empty.

I have been eating here for 5 years now. This is my first review because that is how wonderful my experience was. I am a server and a bartender so when you go out to eat and get exceptional service it doesn’t go unnoticed. We are a large family and this was the first time the entire order was correct. All of our food was am amazing and hot. Leona is the best server in there and she deserves the recognition!

We are there twice while in Reno for a bowling tournament. If you get the chance to eat here, absolutely do it. Probably the best omelette I've ever had. The Volcano was really good as well.

Service was great. Food portions are beyond generous! The chicken club sandwich was delicious. Everyone else in our party of six enjoyed their menu choices as well. Will definitely eat here again.

Everything about this diner was amazing. It was our first time trying this, and we were very surprised. The waitress was amazing and the portions were amazing. The food was super fresh and they truly cared about their customers. I definitely recommend eating here!!!

Huge portion for the price, great comfort food with flair. I normally don’t have meatloaf, but there’s was absolutely amazing! Somehow they got the balance of flavors and textures spot-on, it included onions, carrots, sausage, and beef, with a really nice gravy that was not overly salty like so many are. I had mine with a loaded baked potato that had high-quality, chopped real bacon, a lot of cheese, ample, sour cream and butter. The side of green beans with onions and more of that great bacon was a great complement to the meal. I’ve been to black bear diners in Bend and another location that I can’t remember, this one was actually better than the Bend location. Will come back again when I’m traveling through the area.

The food at Black Bear is always delicious. The service is also very good, kind servers and hostesses. Their baked goods are fresh and I really like their banana cream pie. I would suggest the pot roast as it is very delicious everytime I go. This place is wonderful for breakfast, lunch and dinner and just sharing a meal with your family here is a delight.

Stumbled upon this gem on the way to the airport. OMG! The service, the menu options, and the quality of the food were all amazing! Their coffee is great. They have the cutest gift shop ever! And as far as restaurants with a theme go... This place should give lessons! Their gift shop is adorable too. Be sure to have breakfast or lunch here on your next trip to Reno!

My family ate in the restaurant and I got a Togo order. They told her what the order was and asked her bring it at the end. She brought it first thing, before their food, so I got cold food. They do not let you split a check even once. Both of my family’s orders were messed up and they forgot a side on my order. The Italian green beans are the worst green beans I’ve tasted in my life. Straight from the can would be better than what they served. Turkey is alright, but dry. Really disappointed with what I got and my family was really disappointed with the service.
