Wow, Wow and Wow !!! I was last at Madeiras sometime pre lockdown.... dark, dirty and dingy. Well new owner Rory has outdone himself, made some amazing decor changes, inside and outside its now light, colorful, spacious and very pleasant. My girlfriend Emma, suggested we try Madeiras out, I have to say I was skeptical after my last visit. I was pleasantly surprised. The food is frankly amazing. We started with the Peri peri chicken livers to share. Mildly hot, with a spectacularly tasty creamy sauce. Well presented and deliciously mouthwatering. The manager Justin then offered us complimentary Jagermeisters on the house, these were beautifully chilled which I have never had before and went down a treat. Next we opted for the special of the day a seafood platter for one at R175 including a carafe of red or white wine. I have to say I am often weary of speacials and was definately not expecting what arrived at our table. Wow, wow and wow again, what arrived was a gastronomical surprise and an enormous serving of seafood delight. A bowl of creamy mussels + - 12 x , 6 x prawns, calamari strips, calamari tentickles, a portion of battered hake fish, a portion of chips and a decent serving of tartar sauce. It was all mouthwateringly delicious. We then had the Amarula creme brulee dessert. This was well presented with ice cream and a good "cracking" caramelized top. Also delicious. Thank you to our very helpful and attentive waitron Chanté. I rate this place 9/10 and well worth a visit. I will certainly be returning. Thank you Madeiras team for an enjoyable afternoon.

Don't judge a book by it's cover This Bar and Bistro took me by complete and utter surprise. The old style of the original house was kept with and added twist. A savanna twist theme. Situated on the main road it is easy to drive past. The waitress was friendly, on top of her game and descriptive with the menu. This place has everything from platters for one to platters to share up to 6 people, seafood, chicken or beef burgers, wraps, schnitzels, surf and turf, wine, shooters and hard liquor. Gluten-free options are also available. Delicious side orders such as side vegetables, side salads, onion rings and a big variety of sauces. The vegetables and chicken strips were a little oily so ease up on the oily love chef. I want to come back ! Freshly made baguette garlic bread is a must try. Don't forget the dessert. Waffles, ice cream, chocolate brownies and chocolate mouse. Need a place to host a year end function, baby showers or birthday, Medeiras does it all.

Relaxed, casual vibe. The old houses converted to restaurants. Simple tables an chairs set up . Food was really delicious and great value . Had the chicken prego roll R90 and my friend had the steak one. They put a piece of whole steak On her roll .the chicken fillets were moist and tasty . You can choose a side and the veggies they make are absolutely amazing with it ,not sure what flavor spice they use on it but really makes it scrumptious . The chips were also crispy and fresh. They don't really have a cocktails ,about 3 or 4 only . More a beer or spirit place and TV there . Inside and outside seating. Service was friendly . It's a very laid back relaxed place ,don't expect any fine dining or fancy menu items here . But food was lovely .

Excellent food and great value for money. Generous portions too. Super vibe during sports games shown on their large tv screens. Waiters are very helpful and hard working. Reason for 3* overall is due to smoking in all areas. There is a separate area for non-smoking patrons, but there is no actual partitioning, so everyone is still exposed to the smoke which clouds the air. Such a pity, as this could have become our new fav spot that side of town.

Lovely neighborhood hangout with daily specials that are generous portions and well prepared. Also a daily drink on special. Roaring fire inside for those rainy days and lots of outdoor seating for summer.

Loving the new Madeiras. Seems so much bigger now after renovations. Really friendly and efficient complement of staff. The new owner Rory (ex Victoria times in fish hoek) has brought his great personality to the place along with a nice fresh, upmarket feel.

It was our 1st visit and I'm sure we'll return. The food was excellent. Well presented. Very reasonably priced. Generous dessert portion sizes. Service efficient, relaxed and friendly. Toilets clean. Live band playing was an extra bonus. Great fun.

Nice place with good food. Only issue is don't order fries with the platters. Rather as an extra. Dissapointed that it's a known fact that the portion you paying R65 for is a quarter of what you get for R45 as a side. I'm sure someone will fix it though...

We attended Siyazana's fundraiser & had an enjoyable evening with the live entertainment. We ordered the sharing platter with 6 options and it was too much for 2 to share! Generous portions, tasty. Staff helpful & friendly.

I absolutely loved my meal and the fact that they offer a veg stir fry side, that was also damn delicious 😍 however, I happened to attend on a gig night and it was too damn hot. We ended up leaving early because Madeira felt like Madeira. Sheesh. Ventilation matters, please.

Took my wife here in the afternoon for lunch with our two children. Our first time visiting this establishment. We have been living in Cape Town now for 11 months and have tried so many venues. This is a place I am so sorry we never tried earlier. What amazing service. Our waitress was friendly, joyful and so wonderful. The eisbien was the best I have ever had. The Mussle Pot was the best my wife ever had. Our children loved their respective portions of the squid heads. Atmosphere was welcoming. They also have my favorite beer on tap which is Ice cold. It became a wonderful experience and not just a lunch. We loved it so much that we have been telling other family about it and I am happy to say that my aunt has decided to go there tonight for her birthday. So I'm really happy to be returning to this special and awesome restaurant. Keep it up Madeiras' team!

AMAZING!!! My wife and I have been saying for a very long time that we need to visit this little Bistro, however we always seemed to forget about Madeira's when deciding where to go for a bite out. Well..... I can tell you with certainty that this will never happen again, becuase this little Bistro has shot right up to the #1 spot of favorite places for us to go eat. We were blown away by the super friendly and welcoming staff who's service could not be faulted. The owner led his team by example and then our food arrived. Visually pleasing, plated beautifully and it tasted even better. Absolutely delicious, with very nice portion sizes. I cannot explain to you how good the food was but with this review I will be 100% recommend you go and try it for yourself. Well done Rory and team. Please keep up the standard of service and quality of food. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. We will be returning very soon again and again and continue to do so.... 🙏👌👍

Our first time at Maderias There's seating outside - but it's more for smokers so doesn't lend itself to a comfortable outdoor setting for non-smokers. . We enjoy Portuguese food and they had R99 lunch specials. We ordered the Prego and the Peri Peri Chicken. Sadly the Prego steak lacked that delicious Portuguese garlic flavour that comes from marinating. It was a good portion size steak and when it arrived it all looked so good and promising but it was just so disappointing The chips were good. The Peri Peri Chicken flesh was dry although the chicken was served with sauce -so perhaps overcooked chicken or last night's leftovers. The stir fry vegetables were also completely overcooked. Our waitress was super friendly .

Staff are friendly and customer centric. Nothing is too much trouble. Live music always welcomed too. Food is good and inexpensive. More than just your neighborhood pub.

When we arrived at the restaurant there was no hostess too greet us and we waited for 10 minutes for someone too actually see us .We eventually got our table which we reserved and waited another 15 minutes for our drinks order to be placed When they brought our hot chocolates it was just milk .We had too send them back The food was excellent but the service was terrible. They were understaffed. We had too ask for cutlery and serviettes. We asked for sparkling water and got tap water .Once we had our meal we had too wait again for 20 minutes for our desserts we tool the one too go instead as we was tired of the long wait

We always drive past Madeiras but never seem to stop by… but we finally did. They had a Thursday night rib special which is amazing because I love a good rack of ribs. I’m always sceptical about places that offer a kg ribs on these special prices but I wasn’t disappointed. Ribs was on point- soft, juicy, tasty- as I like it and no knife and fork needed which is a good test in itself. Our waiter Roscoe was super and friendly as well. I have already recommended to my family that they visit here Thursday nights just for their ribs. It was weird that there were no pizzas on offer on the menu though… Something one usually expects at a pub and grill type establishment. But each place to its own I guess.
