Here you are paying for history, nostalgia and the timeless elegance of a castle built hundreds of years ago. Given a choice between the nearby luxury property, Lipprandt, and Schloss Wasserburg, my family would pick Schloss Wasserburg everytime. I do have some quibblels which I will talk about last. The comfort double rooms are spacious and luxurious. You can feel the history and each room has a unique feel with artworks and luxurious trimming. Many have a full or partial lake view. We were able to peek in many :) Our family suite was located in an end unit, in a very quiet place, which was wonderful. The suite was elegant and luxurious. The historic artworks wonderful. The master area was very large, separated from the bathroom and a spare bedroom by a hallway. The master bedroom had two seating areas. One was a full-size couch, with a hideaway bed. The other a large built in nook with cushioned benches, a table and a large window with beautiful views of the property and the lake. We enjoyed sitting in the nook and passing the hours! With windows in the master open and the spare bedroom we had a cool breeze coming through even on hot days. Curtains set back from the windows let you open them at night and keep the bugs out, as long as you don't have lights on. The breakfast at the hotel had a fair selection, limited though, but all available was good quality. The coffee machine brewed perfect cappacinos, lattes.... Lots of seating choices inside and outside. Staff is somewhat friendly, though not always entirely helpful. At check in, the young lady spoke good English, but the next morning the lady spoke none or simply was unwilling to help with our question about the ferry, not something expected at a luxury property where the suite is $750 a night at full price in peak summer season (Most high end luxury properties would have a concierge, none here.) At breakfast we had similar experience, and a noted hesitancy to speak English. Perhaps some of the young wait staff are from the nearby German-French school. The rooms and halls are clean. The cleaning staff did a good job. The grounds of the property are nice and maintained fairly well, given the current pandemic situation and lowered occupancy probably as well as could be expected. The property doesn't have a spa or pool (which is okay as we don't usually use) but the beach area wasn't maintained. So these are services missing/not as expected at a luxury property. A definite recommendation for anyone who wants to stay in beautiful Wasserburg. Speaking of which, we loved Wasserburg, exactly what we were looking for! Less busy and less touristy than nearby downtown Konstanz or nearby Lindau island. The Echte Bodensee card given to us at check-in let us use public transportation, including the bus and the train for free around the area.

Pay attention when you book this hotel. If you reserve a room and you don't show pseudo-vaccination or other covid free testing results and you cancel the reservation because that (even after a few hours after they send you the restrictions informations AFTER the payment), they will charge you the full rate and no way to have the money back. Even if theoretically the hotel is a great structure with a brilliant position, the management and their customer policy is the most horrific we ever found in our travellers experience. For a few money they are able to destroy all the trust and relationship with their clients. Be aware of that.

Amazing location, romantic, real castle feeling and decor. Amazing food on the lovely terrace. Downside: no air-conditioner (just open windows after sundown with lights off and it’s ok), no access to swimming piers nearby, as they are from other hotels.

A wonderful hotel in a spectaculous landscape. We had the so called Fugger-Suite and enjoyed our stay very much. The restaurant in front of the lake offered delicious food.

Great place. We had a suite with see view. The room did us feel like castle lords. Really beautiful and wealthy. Diner on the terras was good and and great views. A minus was the check in which was not really welcoming. We arrived after 6 pm and one of the waitresses did the check in. I think she was a bit stressed. Other minus was the waiter in the restaurant. We did not exacly understand each other and because of that he was some short of words and made me feel ' a difficult customer' . Later on he was more kind. Think the should less afraid and more helping when we do not exacly understand each other because of maybe both our not perfect German language

I can share my experience about the restaurant only. Simply amazing. The food is delicious and the staff is highly professional. The best place for having dinner during the sunset

Wow! Beautiful, enchanting old castle converted into a hotel. It felt enchanting! The shower / bathroom is clean enough, but with some rust and clearly aged. Charming and fantastic location! Takes some time to weave through the towns to get here — which was a delightful way to transition from the city into the country. The only reason for 4/5 stars is the age of the building and bathroom. Otherwise delightful!

We booked a room in November, so the hotel was quiet throughout the week but judging by the amount of parked cars fully booked on the weekend. The room was comfortable with a nice view of the lake. The furnishings seemed a little dated but very clean. Staff was very friendly, the food in the restaurant was good. The location was good, access a little hampered by road construction but nice for walks and close to shops. Overall I would rate the stay there as solid but not amazing.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful old building right on the lake shore. Our room was huge and so was the bathroom. Staff were very welcoming & friendly. The breakfast was good & the view from the terrace restaurant was fabulous. We also ate a traditional German meal at the restaurant in the evening which was delicious & portions were huge. Excellent value for money. Easy stroll around part of the lake into the town.

Schloss Hotel Wasserburg boasts a fabulous location, directly situated on the water with stunning views across the lake. This is a beautiful castle hotel with quirky artefacts and oodles of charm. Restaurant, buffet breakfast and garden terrace enjoy serene views of the lake. Interesting sculpture garden surrounding the hotel. Dog-friendly hotel with elevator close to outdoor access, offering least disturbance to other guests, perfect Very peaceful area away from traffic and noise. Excellent housekeeping service, spotlessly clean, provided with care. Good buffet breakfast. The mattress was hard, though maybe this varies from room to room, and the pillow was not comfortable The vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options in the restaurant were disappointing. One waiter was friendly, the other not so and this makes a difference to the experience of dining in any restaurant. Overall I would absolutely recommend this hotel to others. Our 2-night stay was a very positive experience, despite a couple of weak points mentioned above.

We went to the restaurant. Amazing view on the terrace, and a good menu with options for dietary restrictions. Also very friendly staff.

The food was honestly very disappointing. The meat (pork) was overcooked, the whole thing barely seasoned at all and the vegetables were really mushy and tasteless. Our waitress was kind of rude and didn't respect the wishes of the consumer. She ignored my little sister, who is 12, like she was a baby who can't speak for herself. We waited for a really long time and even though we were there before other costumers, we waited a lot longer. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.

This hotel is adorable and charming and is in the best location in Lindau. The staff were equally as pleasant and accommodating. Our room in the attic was tiny but with the most modern bathroom, comfortable bed, wonderful views and charm beyond what I can describe. We loved the large terrace over the water for the best views, and the breakfast and service. and relaxing on the terrace was splendid. This hotel has a wonderful private location and it is easy to walk anywhere from here.

This was one of our favorite places to stay. Not anymore. I had an accident in an area of faulty workmanship. A piece of loose jagged grout cut my toe, which caused me to fall. I reported it to the front desk on my way to a local doctor. They said nothing, not one word. We asked them to have maintenance repair it. We still had a week left to our stay. They did nothing at all. It would have been nice to even hear them ask how I was doing. Nothing. I had to have stitches put in at the doctor's office. Their indifferent attitude, period. Simply rude and just plain wrong.

I hope breakfast is as good as everything else in this charming place 🤞 (haven't tried it yet 😉).
