Very nice spot for an adventure hike. The suspension bridge itself is stunning. The feeling you get on it is just great. It's a fantastic view from up there too. We did 5.8km from the parking lot to the bridge, over the bridge, back through the woods. Really a good hike even with kids. Take yourself something to drink and maybe a little snack in case you are not used to hike.

Nice place to visit. Good experience walking on a suspension bridge. You can carry food and drinks along with you. Entry is free. It can be reachable from visitor Centre by walk. Ice and drinks are available along the way.

For clarification: this is very much a "park here, walk to destination, and walk back" experience. The bridge itself is free to cross and open 24/7, but unless you find street parking in the nearby towns, you need to park in one of 4 or 5 lots (all but the farthest are pay per hour, the closest being 10 euro for 4 hours, I believe also 24/7 with automats, and at least 2km walk in each direction) and then you walk along mostly flat, paved and gravel trails to the bridge, which does seem to be connected to other hiking trails but is the primary destination of these parking lots and their trails. The visitor center has brochures with maps and parking information, as well as pay-for toilets and a pretty good restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and a great atmosphere and even better food. The walk to the bridge from the visitor center / park platz 1 is NOT shaded for the first 3/4 and on a hot sunny day, it was kind of brutal. There are frequent signs directing you to the bridge, plus the crowds all go the same direction. We brought our three kids ages 5,3, and 1.5 - I wore the baby and the older two rode in our double BOB stroller. There are a few features for kids to play with along the way. Once we got to the bridge, we tucked the stroller off to the side of the path and all walked over. It honestly wasn't scary nor did it feel that high, but the bridge does shake and sway. None of my kids were scared, nor was I worried about them falling through as the sides of the bridge are pretty safe without any large gaps. Once we crossed, we got ice cream and coffee at a food truck that was right there, then came back and had lunch at the restaurant at the visitor center. This was a sunny July Saturday afternoon and while it was busy, we had plenty of opportunity for photos without people nearby. Overall it was about a 2 hour experience for the hike and another hour for our meal.

The bridge is a one-way trip. Way back is about 4 km unpaved roads through a forest. Nice walk though the last part is all the way uphill 😬

The bridge is the attraction for people without a fear of heights and adventurers. Modeled after Nepalese suspension bridges, the “Geierlay Suspension Bridge” spans from one bridgehead to the other. The name was chosen in a competition and refers to the area of the land registry the bridge is located in. Initial contact point is the visitor center in Mörsdorf, which is equipped with an information terminal, a restaurant and public facilities.

You park in the town (bring €), walk 1.8km or 1.1mi to the bridge. It costs 5€ to cross the bridge. And then you can typically hike after crossing it or walk back across it. It’s a fun experience, and great to help break your fear of heights. Beautiful views. There’s a little creek that runs below it. And it’s pretty stable as well. I went on a VERY windy day. And even then the bridge was only swaying slightly in the center.

The bridge looked very cool, there was traffic on it though because of some children who got scared halfway through. Plus point for getting to see some actual scared children. Some minus because of the absolute hell of a walk we had to do to get back to our car.

Very nice walk over the bridge. Due to corona, you can only walk one way. Shortest way back is around 4 km. Remember proper shoes as this rute goes a bit up and down 😉

I did a 7 mile hike starting in the Mölsdorf, that goes through the Geierlay Suspension Bridge. If you have the time, there are several hiking trails that take you to the bridge through different hiking loops. If you want to try them out, download and browse through the "All Trails" app. The entire area was clean, beautiful and just peaceful! The bridge was very impressive and fun to walk on. It does start to sway side to side, if it's windy or if there are a lot of people walking on it. The views from the bridge are very nice too!

Its a quite boring 2km walk to the bridge, but its very well constructed and has a nice view. Don't even try if you are afraid of heights, the bridge wiggles and the planks are all loose (its for flexibility). Plenty of people did not cross but 80% does. We visited on a friday sonthere was always like 10 people on the bridge in total. We heard weekend days get very busy and busses with tourists stop by, but you can go check that out for yourself.

A nice bridge to walk over, however it is definitely a tourist attractions, so it can be very busy and you're almost always walking behind, or in front of other people. The rest of the walk is a lot less busy, and is a nice walk (sometimes quite difficult) through the forrest.

Visited the Geierlay Suspension Bridge recently and it was an incredible experience! The views from the bridge are absolutely stunning, offering a unique perspective of the surrounding natural beauty. The bridge itself feels secure and well-maintained, making the walk across enjoyable even for those who might be a bit nervous about heights. It's definitely a must-visit for anyone who loves adventure and wants to immerse themselves in the gorgeous landscape. Make sure to bring your camera - the photos you'll capture here are simply breathtaking! Highly recommended.

Awesome experience to walk the formerly longest (now second) but nicest suspension bridge of Germany. There are a couple of parking lots nearby and then you walk 1,8-2km to the bridge. Parking costs 6€-€10 according to how close it is to the bridge. But the bridge itself is free you can walk over it as many times as you like. There are also walking tours which take you to the valley below the bridge. Definitely recommend a visit if you're in the neighbourhood (but not if you're afraid of heights the bridge is stable but you do feel movements and you can look all the way down). We went in November on a Saturday there were other people there but it was not too crowded. Very nice experience.

Loved it, it was scary, it sways much more closer to the end and at least for me I didn't notice it much when going there but going back I did feel it full swing (pun intended). It was quite a thrill for me but a manageable amount. Tip: don't go straight lines route during summer, take a longer one from the parking that goes through the gorge. There's trees and it's almost always in the shade, i.e much cooler.

Not for the faint hearted but a fabulous experience to walk across this suspension bridge crossing a gorge. It's a decent walk around farmers fields with some information boards and fun things to do with the kids as you walk there. We did it on a particularly hot day and there is minimum shade so hats and plenty of water are a must. There is a person selling ice cream and a beer garden partway through the walk for those in need of refreshments. In the village there are places to get refreshments and a small information centre. Worth noting that the car parks only take cash.

I saw this bridge on my TikTok and I fell in love right away! And once I was there it was really stunning. I was curious if I would have the courage to walk over the bridge but I did it! I was so proud! The view was gorgeous! 😍 If you search online for the bridge it says that it has a opening time and that you need to pay, none of that is true. As far I know you can go there when ever you want. I would say go in the morning, because we went around 10 am that way and it was crowded with people but do able if you want to make pictures! I would go a little bit earlier if you want the bridge to be clear! I was staying in Mörsdorf and the walk towards the bridge was beautiful aswel!! But it was a real climb. 😅 Enjoy the view if your going there!!! ❤️❤️

Great place for a hike / picnic with something different. Unique views and exhilarating experience whilst on the bridge itself. Go early to avoid crowds as it is very popular especially when weather is nice.

Beat the crowds and come early! The bridge opens at 10h and offers a spectacular view on the landscape. You can buy tickets at the visitor center or just make your way to the bridge (from the town side) and pay there. After the bridge, you can take the 40 minute walk back into town or choose a wider loop that takes you down the side of the hill and back up (app 2 hours). Worth doing!

It was an amazing experience, unique in it's way. The bridge looks very elegant and spectacular in the same time. The view is also superb. 🌄😲🌲 Unfortunately i had no chance to go on the hiking trails because we were in a bigger group, but I loved the entire experience. We came from Morsdorf 🏘, so we just had to walk maximum 2 km to get to the bridge. It is easily accessible from this direction through a flat pietonal pathway.

Warning ‼️ if you are scared of height, don’t go there :)) It’s high and swelling while you walk on it. Besides that it’s a great place to see. Nice forest view 👌👌. There are guys selling Bratwurst and drinks around the bridge.

I wanted to visit this place for several years already. It was worth the trip! Very peaceful. Not to many people around. Clean. Plenty of parking spaces in the little town at 2km from the bridge. (About 10 Euro for 4 hours of parking) The bridge itself... Just beautiful! Nice walking trail around. About 6,4km, it'll take you about 2,5H. Make sure you have descent shoes 🙂

Hi, I went twice to visit this bridge, 3 years ago and today. 3 years ago it was great and the bridge was safe. Today the parking price is too high and the planks are not strong and the bridge seems precarious. I cannot attach the video but please go there and check the panels to fix and fix them before someone gets hurt. The place is beautiful with beautiful nature but this is a bit dangerous and needs to be checked!

The bridge is fantastic and free. You get shafted on the parking though 6-10€ for 4 hours, but the walk to the bridge and back will take less than 2 hours.

It's really cool to walk on this bridge, if you're not afraid of heights. It's well maintained, built in 2015. We did a 7km hike in around 2 hours.

We decided to stop here just because it was on the way to another site we were going to and I was happy we did. From parking in town, it was about a kilometer and a half walk to the bridge. We went early, so there were only a couple people around...as we were walking back to the car, it was starting to get a lot more active. Good views, nice hike and definitely a good experience.

An amazing construction in the wild. The suspension bridge offers a panoramic view of the thriving forest and the stream below. The bridge is quite long and the walkway offers an adventurous experience. There is almost a two kilometer walk from the parking lot and it is equally beautiful.

We went to the bridge early in the morning on November 5th. You must park your vehicle in the parking area. They have around 4/5 parking areas. We parked near to the visitor center and followed the printed maps they have, though you could also just use Google Maps. They have all clear signs directing people to the bridge. You need to walk at least 2km to get to the bridge. All the way are dominantly flat. There are numerous playgrounds for children along the way. Very recommended to come with family as early as possible to avoid the crowd. The visitor center open at 7 am. The view was breathtaking and a little bit wet. Walk slowly and enjoy the scenery^^

Awesome experience. Such a great place to visit. The bridge feels so safe and sturdy to walk on. I will suggest to come visit before 9 in the morning, then you'll have the place almost to yourself. FYI if you come there by car there are great parking opportunities. It costs between 4-6 euro for 3 or 4 hours and you can pay by card at an automat. Great opportunity for a nice stroll to and from the bridge through fields. Will not suggest this for people that can't walk far or on trails, it can be a long path to walk.

Despite being very busy and very hot, it was an awesome experience. The bridge does sway a little bit so not for the queezy! We parked on the P2 parking lot and walked quite a distance through the grain fields to the bridge in high temps. Bring water! It looks like they are working on making the parking paid parking soon.

Really cool bridge with excellent views. The hike back is really pretty as well. Lots of places to grab a snack or something on the way as well.

Excellent fun for family and friends. Be prepared for a hike and bring lunch or snacks if walking with kids. Visiting this place is well worth it!

Scenic place nearby a beautiful town. Perfect for a short hiking trip where you can cross the bridge and return back hiking down the valley crossing a river stream with drinkable crystal clear water.
