Small ski site, with 4-5 lanes, very short ones, two have some nice slopes, the others pretty moderate. Good for families with kids who wants to train as beginners. One lift for all lanes, and at some point in Sunday afternoon ,the line was too long for me considering the short lanes. You can rent equipment, and no preschedule is required. Very close to where i leave, which is a great advantage.

Don’t sign up your kids for ski camp here. There is a lack of instructors and all the instructors are teenagers. My child’s instructor is 13 years old. The teenagers do not have the skills necessary to teach younger children. The website mentions nothing about this when you sign up. Don’t waste your money here, there are better options if you drive a bit further away from city

Great location in the city for beginners to learn how to ski. I enrolled my daughter a few months back to the Sunday 3 week program. My 5 year old has never skied before, but we have taken her to skating lessons and she’s good skating and staying on her feet and skating. I found that having her skate before made the transition to skiing pretty good. First lesson she was getting comfortable having skis on and navigating the small sectioned off area go up and down a number of times. The second class she was going up the magic carpet on her own and going down the hill quite well for her second time being on the hill. The third and last class today she was going up the chair lift with the instructor and getting on and off with help with the instructor. She had good command of going down the main beginner hill all on her own with “pizza” and French fries; and can turn on her own and control her speed. For the price, location, and 1 on 1 teaching, I felt this was good value. I also got the parent pass and followed along with my daughter throughout the three classes. The first class it was very helpful, to help her feel at ease and not scared. By the second class I kept some distance so she could get more instruction from the teacher and I was there more just videoing the progress. Thank you Uplands Golf and Ski Club for the great work! We had our own ski equipment, so can’t really review how the rental desk is but their equipment seemed updated.

Came here for the first time in many years. Giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 because I found that they were a bit disorganized—especially in the when it came to ski rentals. They gave me the wrong skis and poles, so I had to go back to get the correct ones because they kept coming off. Expect long lines aw well. Parking is free, but it’s a bit difficult to find as spots are limited. It’s $30 for lift ticket and another $30 for rentals for an adult. There’s one ski lift and two hills that are open at the moment. That being said I would definitely come here again! ☺️

This was a great place to train your children or rookies to gain some more experience in skiing & snowboarding. Staff & instructors were nice. Our daughter did pick up some skills and she is really confident in skiing now. Thanks to all the staff at Uplands Golf & Ski Club.

Brought my kids for ski lessons over the holiday break. A four hour group lesson was $180 each including rentals. My kids and their cousins had never skied before. By the end, all four were snowplowing with confidence down the hill. All four could have skied longer, and all four had a great time. A few notes for parents considering kids lessons here: Coaching was plentiful and excellent. Ratio was close to 1:1 or 1:2. Admin is solid with option refunds incase the weather is too warm to ski. Rentals were good, although boots were a little worn. All perfectly good for beginner level. Value for money: Not much more expensive than city run ski hills, but plenty of availability which is paramount. Note the photo included. The blue jackets are the coaches. The hill was only for lessons on this day because of limited runs with snow.

If you're looking for beginners' ski/snowboarding lessons, this place is ideal. The staff and instructors are accommodating, and there are a few small hills to learn and practice. The staff is truly exceptional. They are very friendly and competent. 👏👏💐👏👏You can either get private lessons (1,2 or 3 people share an instructor) or join one of the four or 8-week ski/snowboarding courses they offer. If you're looking for skiing for leisure, the hills do not impress as they are very few and short, but the prices and location make up for that. It's excellent for getting small children into skiing or snowboarding. Kind and loving teachers are why my 4-year-old and 7-year-old girls are interested in skiing.⛷️ Thank you again to the administration and all the kind and experienced staff and teachers. By the way, do not miss the very beautiful and warm atmosphere in the buffet 🍕🍫🍦🍪🍗🍝🍳🍣🍡🌭🌮🥦🥨in front of the fireplace👌

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Rude, condescending staff! BEWARE - Ripped off! My wife and two young boys went skiing for the first time, purchased the 3 hour package ( 1 hour lesson, 2 hour of practice time). Boys picked it up pretty quick and we’re on there way for “practice time”. My wife lagged a bit and the instructor stated that he was not comfortable allowing her “practice time” on her own and that she required more lessons. The 3 hours package is now cut to 1 hour. When requesting a partial refund or future credit, the receptionist (assuming the same receptionist repeatedly mentioned in the negative reviews for unfavourable service and attitude) stated that the 3 hour package consists of Paying for the lesson and the 2 hours of practice time is “free time”. No where on there website states this, it’s reads as follows: 1 hour lesson, plus 2 hours of practice time. We paid for services not rendered and this was a fraudulent act on behalf of the establishment. The instructor deems you as not experience and then rip you off for time paid. THINK TWOCE BEFORE COMING HERE, especially for lessons. ONLY ONE STAR BECAUSE OF LOCATION, nothing else! Despicable!

Beautiful golf course, definitely walkable but it can be quite hilly at times. Moderately difficult with elevation changes, water features, and narrow fairways. Would highly recommend

Simply amazing! This place has the best instructors that really take time and effort to look after you and your little ones. The ski instructors are of varied ages, which is great for younger children who can easily be intimidated by older instructors, so some for everyone. The Manager on site is lovely and she’s always going above and beyond to help. Was a bit shocked by some of the negative reviews and wouldn’t pay attention to them at all. Great place and great group of instructors!

Not 18-holes but a worthy addition to the North Toronto golf scene. Awesome service as well they bring you your drinks to the course. Everything is perfectly groomed.

Very convenient location to learn and easy skiing. That’s pretty much the only pros. Do not expect good customer service from the management although the instructors are good people. This is beginners ski place so if you want a proper ski hill, go north!

Today was my children’s first ski camp/ lesson. Stuffs were all very nice and genuinely helpful. I signed up on a weekday so there were not many children in a camp and instructors/students ratio was very good too. I’m very happy with what I got as a service, as my child got a bit better skiing, they move kids to one step difficult level so they don’t keep doing same thing. Camp price is very reasonable too. Overall I am very happy with this place.

It was my first time playing at Uplands Golf. The course condition was mediocre however that may be compensated by its reasonable green fee and convenient location. Overall, it is a good value.

I have played Uplands many times over the past few years. I haven't had very consistent experience - sometimes good, sometimes meh. Good: Easy location to get to from Toronto. Easy to get a tee time, always seems to have availability. Although only a 9 hole course, it has decent length on a few holes and a good variety of uphill, downhill, long, short, etc. Meh: They struggle to stay on schedule. Have waited up to 30-40 mins past my scheduled tee time to get on the course. Some of the carts are pretty rough, which is even worse since the cart cost us more than the green fee ($32 for 9 holes, but $38 for 2 people to share a cart?). Walkable, but most people take a cart. Perpetually under construction. Summary: Uplands is usually our go-to once all the 18 hole courses are booked up and we just want to get out somewhere.

I've been coming here the past four seasons. Nice local ski hill. It is a great place to learn and progress, excellent for beginners. Me and my family were there for the winter camps again during the holiday break. There was no snowfall, and it was very warm, so the lift was not open. But we still had lots of fun in the beginner area, the instructor even taught us to ski with one leg.

9 holes took three hours stuck behind a group. Tee time spacing is way too tight, rain check for the back 9 was $20 short claiming we got the 18 hole rate and we’ll have to pay an addition $20 next time we come back for our 9 holes. Don’t play here on a busy day, no Marshalls out ensuring pace of play. Do better.

My recent visit to Upland's golf course was nothing short of a disappointment. From the moment we arrived until the end of our frustrating round, the entire experience left us regretting our decision to play here. I strongly advise against wasting your time and money at this establishment. First and foremost, their policy of paying for 18 holes and playing 9 holes at a time is an absolute rip-off. After playing our initial 9 holes and wanting to call it a day, we were met with an agonizing 30-minute wait just to tee off again. This meant it took us a staggering four hours to complete just nine holes! Such inefficiency is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the staff seemed terrified of their manager, who strictly adheres to a "no refund" policy. When I asked for clarification or proof of this policy, they appeared clueless and eventually took down my information, only to provide an email address that I doubt anyone will ever read or respond to. The whole experience left us feeling cheated and frustrated, especially considering the hefty $85 fee we paid for a mere 9 holes. I couldn't help but think that our money would have been better spent at a more accommodating and customer-oriented golf course like Richmond Hill. In conclusion, if you're looking for an enjoyable and hassle-free golfing experience, I strongly advise avoiding Upland's golf course at all costs. The long waits, lack of flexibility, and disinterested staff make this a regrettable destination for any golf enthusiast. Save your time, money, and sanity, and head elsewhere for a more enjoyable round of golf

It’s the place for absolute beginners or ‘never skied before’ types. This is not the place for advance beginners/novice or intermediate level skiers. There is no moving carpet/magic carpet/lift for bunny hill so how are kids supposed to go up the hill?? Kids need to remove their skis and walk up the bunny hill, come down and remove the skis again. But young kids can’t wear their skis by themselves. So they ask caregivers to buy life tickets (even though there are no lifts) just to help the kids wear the skis. My kid is 5 and knows how to ski by herself on a bunny hill but she couldn’t go up without the lift. Also, most kids taking lessons were crying as they were made to remove skis every 5 mins to go back up the hill, leading to a bad experience. Seems they were set up for a failure!

This a a decently maintained course. The fairways are maintained well. There is a lot of waiting at almost every single hole. This is a great course for amateur golfers. If you are looking for a good workout I do recommend walking! The greens had some ball marks that were not fixed. Overall the course is in okay condition.

$76 for 18 holes with cart. This course is in awful condition with construction going on half of the holes. Don’t know how they’re able to charge this price for this course. Would not recommend.

Boy, what a beautiful and challenging golf course! Blind shots galore, nice sand in the bunkers, beautifully maintained and quick greens. Remember, it's also a ski resort in the winter so lots of serious elevation changes. It's a Stanley Thompson design so plenty of elevated tees and greens. Power cart (mine had seen better times but got me home) seriously recommended. With real estate development sometime back it's now only a 9 holer, but book for 18: you'll want to play each hole again. Staff are friendly. Full food and beverage offerings. Club rentals. Practice green. It also runs a golf camp for kids and lets them on the course so book early or confirm that the campers won't be interfering with play. The score card suggests 1:40 to play 9 and we played our first 9 in 1:30. I love the place.

Fairly decent, cant complain. They're a bit slow at making snow but the hills are great for new riders or people trying to learn new techniques. The price is a bit high for the size but it's a great place to go close by if you just want to practice.

Visited this golf course a number of times over the years and always had a great, relaxed experience. Granted we are beginner players we experienced NO rush from power-tripping field marshals and all other players were courteous and understanding. Prices are very reasonable, great location and super fast golf carts, wee! Def our goto if we're in the mood for 9 holes with some buddies on a sunny day (also lots of nice houses, scenery and wildlife around, a big bonus)

How does it take 3 hours to do 9 holes!? Need to manage tee times way better. Shouldn’t have to wait 20 minutes at each hole to tee off.

Easily one of the worst golf courses in Toronto. The people that own this place have no respect for the sport or anyone that books a tee time at this course. The course manager is rude and doesn’t understand how to fill a tee sheet and make sure that people tee off in an organized fashion.

Save your money and your time and go play Bathurst Glen 18 holes for 28 dollars. Poorly managed staff have no empathy and when you formally complain nobody gets back to you. My friend hurt his back earlier in the day and couldn't play. They said too bad we are charging your credit card. The supervisor at the course was slovenly dressed and had ketchup or something red drizzled all over her shirt. She said nothing I can do and scribbled down the number for the head office on a torn piece of paper. Just a thought how about investing in some business cards they are cheap and now that you have my 40 dollars you can buy a couple thousand. Too bad you will be losing out on 6000 dollars worth of future bookings. Off to Bathurst Glen where the staff are friendly well trained and empathize with customers

My husband went golfing here, writing on his behalf. It began to rain when he had just finished the 3rd hole, so he went back to the clubhouse to get a raincheck. He was notified that each hole you play is deducted from the raincheck - which he has never experienced at any other golf course. Every other club he's been to gives a full refund if it rains. The man at the snackbar was great though, and lent them a complimentary cooler for their beer.

Pretty decent course. They are doing some Renos over the past few years. Good challenging holes and fairly good layout. Great spot for a quick 9, usually they have open spots too. Hidden just north of Toronto.

Staff friendly! Facility maintained and location is quite nice all around. Understand price for value for sure! Golf wise: -its a unique 9 holes! -Few of the holes are blind over hills so be cautious you don't get hit on, or hit on to others. -Lots of beginners come here... -The Par 3s here for the length and the fact so many beginners come here....are insane and cause a lot of back ups. 230 par 3..... - no marshalls!!

Convenient location and great for beginner kids now that there is a magic carpet. I went on the last day of the season so it was very quiet. Most other weekends are quite busy, especially with group lessons. It's not as affordable as Earl Bales but the one upside is they have a snow machine. It would be great if they offered a cheaper lift ticket just for the magic carpet. Note: parents must buy full lift ticket even if they just want to help kids walk up and down the beginner section.

A close by golf and ski/snowboard area to go check out. Lots of beginners and they offer rentals/lessons if you want to get started here. Not too big a place but makes sense given the location.

  • 2/5 Saagar M. 1 year ago on Google
Course is not maintained properly. No Marshal to make sure gameplay is moving. Members have zero respect for other golfers and cut in front or shoot up on other golfers. If you want a bad experience this is perfect for you. They did give me a rain check to try and rectify the issue which is why they get a 2 star and not a 1.

***updated review 3 years later. Credit to Uplands for updating and improving the course in the last couple of years. Hole #3 has forever been wet and the greens were patchy. Some trimming of the tall trees around the green seems to have opened up more sunlight (and perhaps a change to fertilizer or something else?) has made the conditions vastly improved on this hole. Keep it up! Former 2 star review is below: Great people, great location, awfully maintained course. I love this place, its my home course. But no improvements in 10+ years. Hole #3 has been a soggy swamp for at least a decade and is unplayable....heck unwalkable...unless you're wearing thigh high mudboots. Lots of the greens are patchy. Its a real shame, the layout and some of the Holes are really well laid out and fun....but $50 for 9 Holes and a cart....I think its asking too much for the shape the course has been in for years.

This is a great place to start your ski journey, small, yet enough to meet and go beyond your needs as a beginner. Great location with enthusiasm instructors, they know what they are teaching, patient and kind. I was there last Saturday, saw a young insructor (believe he is in high school) who worked no-stop for 11 hours, one lesson after another, didn't even have time for washroom break, while still treat every of his customer as the first one at the beginning of the day. With such work ethic, I truly believe he would be successful in any of his future career. Worth to go, strongly recommend!

Uplands is great place for anyone learning how to ski. It is a wonderful ski hill located in the GTA - just minutes away from Toronto Uplands offers various ski school lessons for all ages. Both my children learned to ski at Uplands throughout the years. They always enjoyed their lessons with ski instructors that taught them the skills required, and most importantly, made things fun. Staff are helpful and pleasant. Right at your doorstep, I highly recommend Uplands to enjoy skiing and snowboarding day or night! My children recently enjoyed an evening of night skiing without having to drive way up north. Very convenient! Thank you!
