The Flato Markham Theatre is an awesome community theatre with a solid variety of good shows. I saw the season opening show this week: Tom Cochrane. He was absolutely amazing, and as a local boy, who made good globally, it was great to hear his local stories in between his songs. The 1st part of his show was a great review of his famous folksy hits, including some lesser known songs that didn't rate on the charts (and should!). And if course he ended the show with his classic : Life is a Highway. The theatre itself is awesome, conveniently at Markham Rd and highway 7 (in the city hall complex), accessible by car (big parking lot) or by YRT. It was nice to have the snackbar open, 1st time since the pandemic, though it would be faster service if they had two lines open.

An incredibly amazing venue with a capacity of 525 with a great view from each and every seat. The seats are luxurious and roomy. The most entertaining lineup. Everything from major entertainment to local dance recitals. Flato has an amazingly diverse program. The 2024 lineup is going to be the best one yet. You have to check out the 2024 show schedule. The staff is fun, friendly, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. Available for private performances. See you at Flato

We visited this center to watch Michael Kaeshammer.'s concert. It was amazing! Everything was just wonderful, including the performance of this famous pianists and his jazz band.

This was my first time here to catch the Andrew Lloyd Webber 75th tribute. The ensemble are singing a selection of songs from Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Cats, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Coat and Jesus Christ Superstar. The theatre is dare I say perfect for a concert because the sound is excellent and it is not cavernous like other venues. There is plenty of free parking. The seats are quite comfortable. The show was outstanding and very memorable. The staff is friendly and professional. There is a coat check along with a drinks & snacks are also available here. Check it out when you get a chance and then let us all know what your thoughts are.

Great location! Have been at Joergen Ballet - the seats have very good view of the scene, I would say from any point. Interesting fact & you can enter the hall with beverages :) don't see that in Europe! Plenty of parking as opposed to down town theaters (but it's understandable) Visit! Don't be shy!

This was our first time going here. Nice place, only issue I saw was the old gentleman usher. At doorway going into the seating area say no pictures or videos. But the slide show before the Tribute to Gordon Lightfoot there was one show picture and video allowed but no flashes. But if anyone took out the phones to take a picture this guy was all over them, so maybe someone should've taken a picture of that notice to show him. We have been to different venues that have same policy but the artist/group announced take all the pictures and video you want and post them. Bottom line is yes we would go back to see another event even being 40 minutes away.

This theatre is honestly such a waste of a theatre. I would have given 1 star but they got 2 because the theatre itself is nice, well kept, clean, nice seats, good views… but my main issue with this theatre is the poor selection of performances. I wish I could go more but there is the weirdest, random selection of stuff that are overpriced. It’s just little ballets, or cover bands or magicians, for an insane price in my opinion. Save your money and just get rush tickets to anything at Ed mirvish, those are cheaper and better.

Great medium sized venue. Very comfortable seats without a bad sight line in the house. Acoustics are superb with professional lighting and staff. Have attended school shows and professional productions at Flato Markham Theatre and have always been impressed at the high level of professional production here. I have been backstage as well too, great facilities for cast and crew. Video feed of the stage available bavkstage as well.

Tremendous point of view, feel close to stage from any theater chair ( feel like a part of performance ) speaker sound is absolutely incredible clarity, staff ( ushers ) very helpful - customer service and professionalism is superior - very polite, immaculate interior, very nice layout, beautiful array of paintings for sale, very nice vibrant electronic panel advertising future events. Con - noticeable cool draft in theater

Change rooms are really big, many rooms including a quick change area. Backstage is pretty big and the staffs are nice. Lighting on stage is amazing (although it hurts my eyes). The seats are not bad.

Very nice theatre! My gf and I went to the Hiromi’s Sonic Wonderworld concert here. The theatre is not huge but gives you a cozy feeling. Even the balcony is not far away from the stage. The sound effect of it is top notch. Recommended!

The staff here has been great for the almost 30 years that our school has had our concerts here. Some have been around for most of that time period. Always amazing working with the kids and they do a wonderful job. A very professional crew! Highly recommend.

If you're sitting up in the balcony section and a screen is used as background of images, etc., the top part of the screen may not be visible as it was blocked from our vantage point. The show/ production was good. Easy, accessible parking.

This is an awesome auditorium for small groups of performances. I got a chance to attend an outstanding event performed by group of dance students. The facility has great service and staff. It’s very clean and classic auditorium. Have café but it was closed on the day of event. Food is not allowed inside the auditorium. Have clean and hygienic washrooms.

We saw Peace by Chocolate at Markham at the movies. Only $10 when you buy before or $12 on the night. Such a deal. Great night out with friends.

I've been to this theatre to play with the Huron Heights Secondary School music department and been there to watch many amazing musicians including Rob Tardik and Dave Koz, Gowan, and Pavlo Simtikidis. It's a great theatre for performing and watching performances!

A great place with good ambiance, folks to direct you as needed, ample parking, good sound system and view of stage, lighting, very clean washrooms all times and above all you get to know what movies are screened for 2023 upfront. Definitely not to miss the environment in here. Loved the experience.

It’s amazing theatre. Only reason I’m giving them 2 star just because they charged full price for a infant even after we told them we don’t need a seat for 1 year old child. And full charge for senior as well.

My 1st live performance since the beginning of Covid. Saw the Magic of Mowtown. It was a fun show, great music and costumes. The venue was very welcoming and clean. The staff was friendly and plenty of free parking. There's not a bad seat in the house.
