Staff was amazing. Truly. My valet Kevin made me feel very confident that my car would be well cared for and was really welcoming. Sana at the front desk just catered to me for my entire stay and made me feel wonderful. Walking me to the elevator was an extra touch. Keisha went out of her way to get some items for me that I had requested prior to my stay and was so friendly and helpful. Thank you for the lovely staff.

Rooms need a major update. Food was left in the room from someone else and the carpet was not vacuumed. The shower barely worked and water dribbled out. The second removable shower head was better but wasn't installed properly so you had to constantly turn the water off so it wouldn't spray all over the place.

This hotel is amazing! My daughter and I had a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean and staff were extremely accommodating especially one of the managers, Megan. She was very pleasant to deal with. Location is prefect as it is next to the convention center and right in the downtown area. Would definitely use this hotel again in the future.

Overall, I had a good time. Wouldn't recommend for more than a week? Or if you're going to be active in the city then this hotel will be fine. Stayed at this hotel for a weekend to celebrate a birthday and what I will say is that the hotel is great for it's convenient location and it recently has been remodeled so the atmosphere is wonderful. Everyone we encountered staff wise was very nice but Ray, who checked us in, really went above and beyond. So I hope he gets a promotion. Super friendly, got us set up, explained everything in detail and for me I love that type of service and rapport whenever I visit another city of town that I'm unfamiliar with. Me and my partner instantly felt welcomed. One thing about Marriott is they will give you just enough space so I don't go in expecting any more or less. The water pressure in the sink wasn't the best but luckily the shower pressure was fine. As I mentioned before, the location is super convenient, you are in walking distance to alot of food places and sight seeing. The only thing I found myself a little frustrated about is that I had to call a few times to get service and then there was a charge on the bill that didn't belong and luckily that got sorted fairly quickly so I recommend to really pay attention to the charges during checkout.

Great conference rooms! We were treated like royalty and everything was amazing. The staff were super friendly. The food was presented perfectly with huge portions. The whole event was so perfect. When you have a group of restauranteurs and hoteliers you have to bring your "A" game and it was absolutely brought!

Good location next to convention center and we had our conference in the Marriott. Checking in was easy for me although others at the conference had different experiences. Evidently they had overlapping conventions and I suspect a lake of staff to get all of the rooms changed over quickly. Parking was a bit difficult to find due to the one way streets but is actually across the street directly behind the building from check-in with a convenient crosswalk. My room was.on the top floor with two queen beds, a couch and a view of downtown towards the interstate. It was mostly rainy so we could not get out much. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was plenty large and had a small refrigerator. I did eat in the new restaurant at the hotel and it was a good choice. In our group of six we had one meal that was not as expected but the other entrées, appetizers, and drinks were enjoyable. The lobby area was nice and we had two floors of meeting areas for our conference. Check-out was easy and overall it was a very good hotel experience for me and I would stay again particularly if attending an event at the conference center.

Great check in with Akash. Overall great place to stay, but a very basic and straightforward hotel room. Location was right next to the National theater, which is what I was there for. Location is good, but not a cute neighborhood feel. Good sandwich spot and Ethiopian coffee nearby. Nearby parking lots.

Been staying at this hotel for 35 years every June. This trip left something to be desired. No milk or alternative in their restaurant. Too long a wait for the dining room. Overbooked their staff with a large wedding and a large (for 40 years) convention. They know what to expect during this convention and failed to deliver. I'm glad it was my last year there, I would stay at the Hilton across the street if it wasn't. No room service, no service.

This was my second stay at this location. Staff is wonderful. Rooms are very clean. Common areas are clean and cozy. Stayed for a convention at the convention center, which is directly across the street. So convenient!

Lars, the general manager, personally reached out to me before I arrived to ensure I had the information I needed before arrival. In addition, Paola, my the check-in and check-out associate, was very professional and pleasant with a big smile to welcome me to the hotel and send me off. During my conference welcome reception Katie, as one of the bartenders, was very personal and professional. She made the event very smooth and successful. The entire service in the hotel was great including the rooms and the self-service parking garage. Thanks for treating me like a VIP!

I want to say as a Marriott Lover, this was the BEST CHECK IN I’ve had in a long time. Your Front Desk Representative is a ROCK STAR❣️ Valencia is the BEST❣️ Kind and courteous and thorough. Thank you Valencia!

We had a very pleasant staycation. The location is very convenient as it is pretty central with a lot of restaurants nearby and close enough to the train station. There was an issue with the AC in the upper floors but Matthews our lovely receptionist changed our room to the 5th floor and provided us with a complimentary breakfast. The buffet was very good offering basically everything you need to start your day. Bonus the hotel has a Starbucks in the lobby. The room was very big and the beds so cozy. For me the hair and body products were amazing. The best I have seen in a hotel. Only one simple “negative” was the hairdryer.. I am sure that they can replace them with something more efficient as this is petty old and takes an eternity to dry the hair. Overall stay 5/5.

The housekeeping staff were wonderful The front desk was very accommodating but the food at our conference was not good My stay was 4 days long The chicken was very dry and the salmon was very dry. The salads were wilted. The restaurant food at the Fall Line was wonderful. Great staff, great service. The location of the hotel is sketchy. Do not feel safe walking around outside. Leaving the restaurant with 500 other women was very difficult. They do not have enough luggage carts to accommodate so many people and so much luggage leaving within a couple of hours together.

Room service was not good. I was in the hotel for 7 days, and after each room service I'd have fewer towels. Each time bed was made like my brother did it 🤣. One day a glass disappeared; it was my personal property 😔. A bright star was Anthony at the front desk. Polite soft spoken, with big smile, and very efficient and helpful.

This Marriott has been renovated recently and it is very nice and looks great! The rooms were modern, clean and quiet. Also has a good gym with everything you need for a workout (cardio options, weights, machines). The hotel offers a M Club which gives access to coffee/tea and snacks 24/7. The club provided breakfast every morning as well.

Fun fact. I help build that Marriott Hotel. That was one of my first builds. They gave me a chance to prove myself and I didn't disappoint. It was only 2 women on that project, myself and another lady. We became best friends. It's crazy, I helped build that hotel and have never stayed there. They've changed the inside as I can remember, but it's still very nice. The only problem I have with the Hotel is Parking. They do have valet though. 4 out of 5

I’m a huge Marriott fan and I have to admit I was happier than expected with my stay here. Richmond is finding its way back and your hotel is great. The valet staff were very nice and made me feel very welcome. At check in I had someone that was teaching a new employee but it was still great. He walked out from behind the desk after I checked in to answer some questions and give me some info. It was a really nice experience. That said the room was nice and very clean which I care about most. Have to also give a shout out to the bartender who mapped out our evening. Can’t remember her name but she just came off maternity leave and again was better than I expected. This is a great hotel in a good downtown location, but the staff is on point. Customer service and making you feel welcome is hard to come by post COVID, but not here. The staff absolutely makes this hotel worth staying at.

Stayed here for the Richmond marathon weekend. You can tell this city loves their marathon because this hotel did a lot to accommodate the runners. For example, they extended their restaurant hours (and made specific pasta special for the runners!) and the Starbucks downstairs opened at 5 AM instead of 6 AM on race morning. They supplied runners with water and snacks and even let random runners come into the hotel to use the bathrooms. HOW NICE! Front desk staff were very courteous. The hotel is less than a mile from the riverfront where there are tons of hiking trails and places to explore. If I ever come back for the marathon again, I will be staying here!

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times. Anthony at the front desk deserves a promotion. This is the person who consistently provides superb customer service with a smile. He is professional, kind and very pleasant. 5 stars!

Yet another property that gives no points nor credit stay on corporate trips, just to remind you that corporate profits are always more important than customer loyalty. Also, to remind you that they are immune to energy efficiency, they are blowing maximum air conditioning in November. Breakfast is standard industrial prepared like everywhere else in America. Front desk is actually quite efficient.

We had another wonderful experience at the Richmond Marriott. The room was lovely with a view of the river and downtown skyline. We also enjoyed a leisurely dinner at Fall Line. The hotel was extremely busy, but we never felt the pinch. Our server checked on us regularly and took great care of us. Thank you for helping to make my mom’s birthday stay very special. Great job all around.

This day was good. The rooms are standard. The staff was very nice. Everything was clean and everyone was professional. I stayed in a double queen then later upgraded to a single king. The single king was on the top floor, the 14th floor. It was about the same size as the queen but had an extra long couch and a great view. The window was from floor to ceiling giving it a great view. I was attending a conference. The hotel provided breakfast and lunch. The spreads were really nice for a hotel Buffay. Plenty of food and pretty tasty. The ballroom is huge and the various available breakout rooms are very sizable. I would certainly host another event here. Location of the hotel is really nice. It is on a main street with many shops and galleries. I found it to be a convenient central location in the city for what I wanted to explore. My only complaint is the seriously annoying elevator system. You must scan your key card before pressing the button on the elevator. I understand this hotel is downtown and this is probably for security. The system just felt really inconvenient. Fumbling for your key card before the elevator door closes and then it constantly re-opens or starts moving because people are pressing the button to get to a different floors.

Loved this place! Comfortable rooms, good service. Only one complaint...some instructions would be great to operating the heat/air and electric curtains. Lol The breakfast was tasty, but somewhat expensive...$16.00, and parking..$ 27.00 per night... Great downtown location!

This review is mainly for the valet team - they went above and beyond to help me and my partner get some random beeping in my car resolved before we checked in for the night. They called building engineering, they were invested in getting the annoying beeping to stop just as much as we were - just... really really welcoming and helpful when we'd traveled for hours and were surprised by this minor vehicle situation. The in and out valets through the rest of our trip were also great to chat w/briefly and always had the car ready to go for us when we needed it. I have stayed here before in pre-pandemic times, and enjoyed the rooms, lobby space, and Starbucks on property; no shift in that opinion from this trip, except adding that the check-in folks inside were also lovely.

Just back from a conference here this week. You would not know from the experience that the industry is challenged with staffing. They truly have wonderful, helpful, service oriented people. It was a delightful stay and the restaurant menu and food was excellent too!

I had an amazing stay at this Downtown Richmond hotel! The staff were amazing and interacted with me and everyone who passed by them. We had a meeting there and it was well run. Again, wonderful staff who went out of their way to make sure my gluten free needs were met. The MClub executive lounge is beautiful and the hotel has two bars, one in the lobby and one in the restaurant which was unique and made for a lively lobby experience. There is a full Starbucks in the Lobby and the baristas were exceptional and so positive! My room was spotless, the shower had a nice foot rest and hand held head option. This would be my go to hotel for business or vacations to Richmond.

The event was for business and the Marriott put out lunch for 135 attendees. It was very good -variety, quality and dessert. I was seated at a table with four others and everyone enjoyed their lunch complimenting the salad dressings, pasta salad and of course chocolate cake.

Wonderful staff, great location, clean rooms and a Starbucks in the lobby, not sure it can get much better. We arrived early and they were accommodating and allowed us to check in early. The valet was awesome and so easy and great to work with.

Read edit below! Gave this 4 stars for a few reasons BUT definitely has the potential for 5 star reviews. Hotel was very beautifully redone inside the lobby and bar areas. Staff was accommodating. We stayed during a very large cheerleeding competition, honestly this overwhelmed the hotel. The staff did great with handling the surge of people. The biggest issue and seriously why i gave 4 instead of 5 stars was the restaurant. We visited about 8pm, infant in a stroller and our 15 year old to be told the restaurant would not seat us for at least an hour, we could order room service from a limited menu.. however that was at least a 30 minute wait. We were staring at an empty dining room with at least 5-6 tables open. This made no sense.. we went to the bar and were told the food service was closed for the night. We finally asked others in the lobby bar where they got the pizza to be told there was a "snack bar" on the other side of the lobby. This was the saving grace.. pizza, wine, beer and great service for cheap! I am seriously sad to give the review as the hotel was amazing, the restaurant and ability to find a meal at 8pm was just sad. Hopefully this gets better soon, lots of potential here just poorly executed. EDIT: I was immediately contacted by the General Manager after leaving a review. Very pleased to hear everything had been noted and was being addressed. This hotel is obviously focused on a great guest experience!

The room was small and there was no hair dryer. There's no parking other than a pay lot and valet (not free). The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I was disappointed by my stay at this hotel. To be clear the hotel is not that bad however I didn't feel the hotel holding up to Marriott or high end hotels standards. Room service is crabby , rooms are small, the lobby area always busy (to be fair it was clean), Valet service is way too slow, no self parking option unless you use a nearby parking. breakfast is ok but not spectacular, I didn't pay for the stay but I would be very angry if I had to pay this high room rate for this hotel. Pros: free high speed internet, elevators are quick, very big gym, very big conference center, at the center of downtown near everything.

You can tell the hotel was recently renovated and is very clean during our visit. Fall Line restaurant bar is great place for a bite, and their M Club is opened. The M Club has a variety of juices, bottled water and Pepsi products stocked. Coffee and teas during breakfast hours. Hot breakfast buffet is great (eggs, sausages, bacon). Didn't see any desserts though for our 2 night stay. Room is a bit small for sure. 2 double beds instead of queens. No microwave. Small bathroom with shower (not tub). Very convenient location with the convention center right across the street connected with a skybridge.

Dined at the newly opened Fall Line Kitchen. I highly recommend it. The cocktails were fun and the food was exceptional. Our server Isis was enthusiastic, charming and knowledgeable. The manager, Mark, was aware of everything going on and really helped his team while carrying for his guests. We'll go back!

This hotel has become our stopping point between our home in Boston and Hilton Head as its almost at the halfway point, so we stop here often. It’s very easy to get to and beats anything off of the interstate. Since the renovations it’s become a great clean and very comfortable hotel. Has a full Starbucks inside and a decent restaurant. With parking in the adjacent garage it’s a great place.
