I NEVER leave reviews so this is saying something. I took my son into the ER on 11/11 and received some of the best care. Not just one person in particular but every single person who was working the night shift that night was so caring, considerate and just all around AMAZING for my son. We waited hours to be seen but that doesn’t even matter because of the care that was given to my son. It was a super traumatic for not only me but my 2 year old son! I hope everyone who worked that night can read this and just know I appreciate everyone from that night.

Go somewhere else if you can. I'm pregnant and have severe HG. Was ordered to go in and get fluids after not being able to hold anything down for a few hours. Husband and I arrive at the ER at 10:30pm and checked in at the front who informed us we could go to triage in OB. Get up there and after being checked in and taken to the back an extremely rude nurse comes forward and tells us we can't be seen up there as I was only 19w6d pregnant and not 20 weeks like they needed me to be. We got sent back down to the ER where I was informed that my husband could not wait with me due to covid protocols. After puking on myself in the waiting room I was finally taken back for blood draws and taken to a room where I was informed that my nurse would be in soon to give me an IV. Husband was finally allowed to come in. Nurse came in and had us switch rooms where I was forgotten about for over an hour. Our nurse ended up being great but so many other nurses were standing around doing nothing. When we asked any of them for help they would tell us "your nurse needs to do that". Poor girl was running around like a crazy person and no one was willing to help. Very disappointed overall with my care here. I will do everything in my power to not have to come to this ER.

Took my son in for an X-ray of his wrist based on the recommendation of the school trainer. After almost five hours, the doctor came in, didn’t even exam my son’s hand and said his X-ray showed nothing. We thought it was suspicious so I made a follow up appt with New Mexico orthopedics the next day and sure enough, it was broken. This is my second ridiculous experience at this ER. Scares me to think of the type of care we get. I actually felt terrible for their staff, they seemed spread really thin and stressed out.

It’s frustrating knowing that the main emergency care center in rio rancho completely lacks any sense of urgency. I took my girlfriend in for intense abdominal pain. Upon being asked what her pain was from 1-10 she responded 10/10 and we were forced to wait in a mostly empty waiting room for 3 hours. During that time we had requested pain killers to witch they replied “we’re working on getting some pain killers for her now”, she never received pain killers. We then waited it out while she was vomiting and curling up in pain. You shouldn’t have to wait hours in extreme physical pain at the emergency room. Seeing my loved one in so much pain with a lack of basic medical treatment was beyond frustrating and keeping my own composure while talking to the staff became more difficult as time went on. It is an emergency room, not a waiting room, Presbyterian seriously needs to look in to their labor force and make an effective change.

I was referred for a breathing issue. After 30 minutes they triaged. I have been her for an hour now and have heard people say they have been here over 4 hours. One of the patients said he has been here 6 hours. They take him back and then send him back to the waitini room. They are not efficient. There is a girl with heart tabs nd some sort of square thing on her chest. She passes out and twitches and then wakes up. A nurse came and looked at her and did nothing. When Rust firs opened they were great now they are not good at all. I have had issues in the past here with poor ER service. I came here because it's close but I guess I need to start going across town to the VA.

Went in for chronic abdominal pain and was basically refused treatment. I waited for 6 hours this time before I was called to a triage room. Then Dr. Ohlsen comes in and tells me it’s all in my head and the pain was most likely due to anxiety or depression. He was extremely rude and condescending. This place is absolutely worthless and the staff is so bad. They didn’t care that I was in pain as I had been there three times in one week. If my insurance covered another hospital I would’ve gone there instead. Do NOT waste your time here!!!

Went in with a broken wrist, first broken bone ever. Waited 3 and a half hours to be given ibuprofen. After another hour, I asked if they knew when I would be called. I said four hours is a little excessive for a broken bone right? Desk lady acted like I was there faking for pills or something, and says " we don't even know if it's broken!" I waited another 30 minutes and then I told a male nurse to remove my blood pressure and name tag cuz i was going to the other er. He says " I looked at your x-ray and it's not broken!" Seriously! I was too tired to go to the other er at 5am, but you guys better hope and pray it's not broken when I go in the morning for another x-ray cause you will hear from legal counsel! I would not recommend this place for anyone suffering from anything.

Every time I have been to this ER myself or brought a family member, the staff has absolutely no sense of urgency. Lovelace Westside, UNM Sandoval Regional, and Albuquerque ER all blow Presbyterian Rust out of the water as far as patient care. To the owner…look at all of the 1 star reviews! How many 1 star reviews is it going to take before you make some changes to this ER!? Most people would give 0 stars if this system allowed it. The wait is always super long. Your system is completely broken! Please change or shut down so another hospital get the job done! I am only here right now because I have to be, otherwise I would have chosen a different ER!

Worst experience of my life! I have epilepsy and needed IV anticonvulsants. My Neurologist office was closed due to being the day after Christmas. Went into the ER and waited 6 1/2 hours seizing in my leg and arm - couldn’t walk and nobody would help. They don’t have water or offer meds of any kind. I finally told my husband I wanted to leave as I can sit at home and seize. Patient care is non existent at this place. My husband asked why they would leave me in the waiting room seizing for 6 1/2 hours and the response was “WELCOME TO THE ER”….really!? I didn’t have a cough….I have a BRAIN DISORDER. If I would have had a grand mal at home and died, I would have SUED THIS PLACE. Stay away and go anywhere else.

One particular person went above and beyond (Jeremy)!! It shows that he cares about the patients, it's nice to see someone so caring in a hectic busy setting. As for the intake clerk and the emergency department nurses, let's just say that maybe they need some time off.

The patchwork acceptance of insurance at various Presbyterian locations make it impossible for me to navigate the system. I keep getting unexpected bills and they do not take BCBS for primary care. If you can get in and your insurance is accepted there universally, sure go ahead. Otherwise, you are low priority.

My wife is here for gall bladder surgery. Every medical professional from transport, tech, nurses and doctors have been fantastic. Absolutely perfect care, personal interactions and information.

I’m only giving this 2 starts because of the nurse the redeemed the whole thing. My daughter was sick and the first male nurse that took us back had no bedside manner. He acted bothered to be helping us, was rough when doing swabs and then never came back. Thankfully he seemed to have handed us over to a much kinder nurse. The doctor was extremely condescending and spent her time talking down to me. I have never had a good experience with this hospital. Out of everyone my 6 year old saw the EMT and the female nurse that took over were the only ones that were good with my child.

My husband's pinky finger was hanging off his hand, we waited 3 hours in the waiting room. Yes,y'all did x-rays but we never heard from the medical team again. My husband's hand turned purple and was ice cold. We left and went to another ER, they saw my husband and set his hand in a cast. I used to be a great fan and told everyone to go to Rust but I'll never do that again.

I have just spent 2 weeks as an inpatient and the staff was exceptional. They assisted me at every step of the way! I was in need of assistance with toilet cleaning, they made that necessity as comfortable as could be, if I needed pain medication they were right there. To me that earned them the 5 star rating.

At first I thought this was a nice hospital with nice staff why my boyfriend was there receiving care. My boyfriend and I are targeted individuals and we are gang stalked the nurses were in on it. I gave my boyfriend my backpack so he could put his things in it so all his stuff wasn't all over the place. The nurse had woken him up at 4 am and said you got some good sleep that she had been watching him all night which is odd. He went and got himself some coffee and she decided to go in my backpack without permission or his knowledge and found his subscription of Suboxone the other nurse said she was allowed to do this because it was on private property but on the same sentence said we need to search your backpack but only with your permission so basically saying they weren't allowed to do that without permission but did it anyways and because he refused to let them search the backpack any further they kicked him out knowing he needed proper medications so he doesn't die they simply didn't care knowing he has an enlarged heart. Something needs to be done

Once upon a time when they were a brand new hosital they were actually good. Due to over population in the area. There absolutely no getting in. I was very severe and no one cared at all. DO NOT GO! You will die in the waiting room and no one would even notice. So very awful. They should be so ashamed to call themself an Emergency Room.
