BYOB, Cash only! We had excellent service, and the food came out fast. Maybe because there were only about 10 guests on this Sunday evening. Food was good, a mostly Bavarian/ Southern German Dishes. You can see how this place, like many in Central Jersey, slowly transfers from German to Polish. There is nothing wrong with that. Location is awesome, right on the river. The place has clearly seen better days: the signage peels the paint, sunshades on the second floor are in tatters flopping in the wind. There was an old Christmas tree still on the deck surrounded by dust crusted lights. There is a touch of neglect all around, giving the whole place a feeling of being about a month away from bankruptcy. It doesn't help that it is surrounded by abandoned boats on the grounds and a half sunk houseboat on the dock.

THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY. We we're not aware on our first trip and had to come back. I stayed classic and got the pork schnitzel which was VERY good! 😊 Theresa our waitress is wonderful! Positive energy, and a fast efficient sweetheart! It's also BYOB so we brought some mead and hard root beer. Very good! Looking forward to our next visit and definitely coming back for Octoberfest!

A diamond in the rough! Delicious German food creek side. They have many different things to order, but I am especially looking forward to schnitzel night which is on Wednesday.

The service was outstanding! Very attentive server, the food was good, the restaurant is small but I'm certain it's absolutely a wonderful place in the summer. We will definitely return when we can sit outside. The fact that it's a byob makes it super affordable. But be advised, it's cash only.

This is tucked away in small town Riverside but has the most amazing everything - outdoor deck seating on the Rancocas, gorgeous views, EXCELLENT food, the wait staff are very friendly, great customer service & of course, the owner.... Wilhelm His authentic German recipes are incredible, large portions & well worth it. There's something on the menu for everyone. We always bring our own wine (Yes, it's BYOB) & even after cooking all night, when things get slow from time to time the owner still finds time to come say hello to his customers! Not many places like this around anymore! I HIGHLY recommend The Best of the Worst!

Went looking for the best. Definitely found the wurst. It’s a bad sign when the sign is peeling so bad that you barely know you’re at the restaurant and when your waters show up in red solo cups. Unfortunately, this run down establishment left us with disappointment. As a german living in American who has become accustomed to the Americanized version of German food (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing), I do have to say this was not good. The sides were over boiled or under seasoned. Most wurst tasted off. Couldn’t bring ourselves to stay for dessert. Most of our party couldn’t eat a good portion of their meals, unfortunately. Positives: their appetizer of potato pancakes was actually very good!

I went here with my sister and her family after we spent a day at the lake. It was nice to get a seat on the deck overlooking the water. The waitress was very talkative and nice. They were out of a few things but they were the popular German dishes and starters. We did come later in the day so it can be expected. For starters I got German macaroni and cheese which was delicious. Definitely worth getting if they run out of potato pancakes. My sister and her boyfriend got perogies they said it was very good. My niece and nephew got burgers and fries which they loved. I got the best of the wurst platter. It was like a little taste of Germany trying the different meats. The owner was very social walking around talking to the customers. For desert I got sheet cake and it taste amazing, I was very pleased. Overall it was a very nice experience and it was nice to try something different.

Have heard about it for years! Finally got to try it out tonight! On Schnitzel Night! Had to try the pork platter and a Brat sandwich. Both incredible! Place has a fun, clean, awesome atmosphere. Waitress was great! Two thumbs up! Will be back!

We had a great dinner from the bratwurst, the Cuban sandwich, to the schnitzel. It's a great place to have a beer (BYOB) and some good food. Definitely going back.

A great place if you want to eat by the water while enjoying the scenery. Food wise, I'd like the food to be more flavorful. Too neutral for my taste. Service wise, ok, but again I personally prefer to enjoy the atmosphere and the food, without being interrupted by needles chit-chat.

The food was delicious; highly recommend the perogies. Had the Rouladen as the Main course, very tasty. Finished the meal off with a Beinstich cake which was sooooo good.
