Decent room except it was burning up and no hand soap. I had to go to the front desk with dirty hands to get soap. We cranked the air down and went to have dinner. It was cooling off until we left and the ac shuts off. Came back to a hot room. Shower is nice but there is zero privacy. He have an additional person in the room and while the crapper is private and locks, the main portion has split doors with no lock and a 3/4" gap all the way down. I snapped some pics after my wife showered. Unbelievable! Note. It's after midnight with air set to 65⁰ and it's 70⁰ in the room still. I can't sleep! Zero air movement.

Got in at 9:30. The restaurant that was to be open till 10, shut down by 9:40. No Cafe, food court, NOTHING. Nothing but a coffee bar in the morning with pastries and dessert. And there's nothing around the place to walk to, to get food. Drinks are restricted, my king bed fell into the center. Rest of the room was great. The casino and food options just sucked. Whether it's the weekend or not how do you have a 24hr casino and nothing to offer for food or snack?!

I booked 2 nights at the Argosy to treat my grandchildren that I visited in KC to "special times with grand mommy".They were super excited about the big walk in shower and couldn't wait to use it. The shower would only dispensed burning hot water and I had to get them out before they got burned! I tried to call the front desk but that number went to a 1-800 number, so I had to take the kids with me to the front desk with wet hair, this was around 8:00 pm. When I asked to switch rooms, Jaime the front desk manager told me (rudely) that she wouldn't switch until maintenance confirmed that it was actually broken. Maintenance came after 1 hour and confirmed and we got another room. That shower had black mold in it... I didn't want to drag the kids out to the front desk at night, now it was 10:00pm and the phone was still not working right, so I told the manager about the mold in the morning. She told me that Housekeeping clean it, but when we came back in the evening, the mold was still there and the room wasn't even cleaned. The front desk phone STILL went to the 800 number so we had to go down to the desk AGAIN and were informed that the Argosy doesn't clean the rooms while guests are there... It was an awful stay, it wouldn't have been so bad if the managers had at least apologized, but they were downright hostile... VERY sad and I will definitely not stay there again. Black mold seems to be an issue there, it was mentioned on booking . com reviews also...

My first time visit to the Argosy casino was as a tourist back in 2017. During this visit, I won a few games, made some new friends and really had a great time. My second visit was yesterday and it was the worst experience... My throat and nose are still burning from the amount of cigarette smoke inside of this casino. This casino is advertised as having smoke free areas. Let me make it clear- once you are in the main areas there are no smoke-free zones. This is due in part because of their poor ventilation and filtration systems. Even in the non-smoking area you will smell an overwhelming amount of cigarette smoke. The inside is dark, hazy and gloomy. People were walking around almost like zombies. Even wearing a mask and sticking to the non-smoking area was not working. People were smoking in the non-smoking area and workers were walking around completely oblivious. We played six different machines without any success. In addition, the volume controls were broken on many of the machines. Even when you cashed out your tickets (not from winning) noise rang out as if you won a heavy amount. I always pay attention to the guests around me to see if anyone is having a good time or receiving any good payouts. No one was winning. We stayed for an hour and left due to the overwhelming amount of cigarette smoke (in the non-smoking area). On our way out, we noticed other couples that arrived with us and they were leaving due to the same issue.

I can't rate the hotel as I have never stayed but the casino was a great time. It's a pretty small floor but don't let that stop you from checking it out. Table games are limited but they do have options. Lots of slots if that is your thing. They also had live music behind the bar which was actually pretty cool.

The hotel room for us was clean and quiet. However, my parents were first placed in a dirty room before being moved. The service at the restaurant was painfully slow and the waitress got our order wrong multiple times. We left a pair of shoes at the hotel, and the next day they were gone. Never heard of a hotel without a lost and found. Finally, we were supposed to receive a $5 food credit, but never received an option to use it. We weren't even told about it. I had to ask what the hidden "Amenity" fee was for to be informed about it. At check out. On a positive note, the Christmas tree was nice.

My first time in a casino and it wasn't too bad. However, I don't have much to compare it to. It's pretty. The blackjack dealer actually walked us thru the game and the process. It was fun. Went with $5 and left with $200.

The hotel and restaurant staff are all super friendly and very accommodating. The hotel room was nice, with some extras, but nothing spectacular. In the traditional sense, there is no room service- just "brown bag" lunch between noon and 5 pm. If you want an actual meal, you have to go down to the concourse and wait for a table. However, the food is delicious and the restaurant staff is excellent!

Don't forget to use ʜoα΄›α΄‡ΚŸΚ™α΄ΚŸΚŸΚ.ᴄᴏm when booking any stay. This website will compare hundreds of booking web sites and normally will have rates much cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is one of the best in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely won't regret it. The Argosy is hands down my favorite Casino in Kansas City! The gaming floor is fantastic, but the hotel rooms, well they are just amazing! If you haven't stayed here before I highly recommend doing so! You won't be disappointed, the showers alone will have you singing the Argosy's praises!!!

The hotel is lovely. My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon for 3 days and really enjoyed it. The staff from the front desk to the casino floor staff to the employees in the Hops 99 restaurant were beyond excellent! Very happy and will definitely return!

First off, the place is beautifully decorated and expansive! You'll find room after room after room of fine designs and thoughtful artistic flair. These casino offers a wide variety of slots and table games, with many new titles as well as old favorites. The only reason I do not give five stars is because of the indoor smoking which permeates the entire area, including the "no-smoking" sections of the casino. So for me, I won't be back. But otherwise, nice place.

Every single slot machine has something wrong with it. The technicians are rude when you need help. Horrible rtp on every machine. But the worst part is the staff. Especially the bartenders are some of the most miserable, rude customer service associates I've ever had to deal with in my life. If your not getting an alcoholic drink they treat you like dirt. Apparently they don't understand that their tips rely on them being kind, courteous, and likeable. I would not recommend this casino to anyone even my worst enemies. Absolutely disgusted

Stayed over Christmas to come in and visit for the holiday. Rooms were very Clean and comfy. Brilliant shower setup and very hot Water! Minus 1 star for the paper thin walls/ circus that seemed to be every night in the hallway. Ate at the steakhouse 2x and Shannon our Server was perfect. Couldn't have been better. Machines were pretty tight but had better luck in High limit.

All of the employees were exceptional. The room left a lot to be desired. The TV had no signal, the curtains were messed up so they didn't close all the way and they were also disgustingly dirty. The water reservoir of the coffee maker was absolutely filthy. I wiped dirt/dust out of it before deciding not to use it.

Worst experience at a casino/hotel I’ve ever had in my 16 years of traveling the country. First time visiting and can’t see myself ever considering of a second return. Room was filthy. Casino full of people just sitting and not playing. Socializing. Nothing decent close by for food. Just miserable. On top paying 2.50 a slim to literally watch it spin. $500 later and the most I won on a spin was $4. So what does a guy do when miserable at the casino but dreads returning to a room of filth. Oh I know. Check out early and go to a real place for fun and relaxation. America’s best.

Easily a lovable experience. The room (129) was excellent! Cleaner than any I've stated...the bathroom and shower was outstanding. That is actually the feature I enjoy most at a hotel stay and compared to the Argosy, none hold up. Dual head shower, easy to operate, excellent lighting, plenty of room... the only reason I didn't rate a 5 was one particular desk person was not friendly or engaging. There was no microwave or blow dryer but there was plenty of outlets for electronics!! Best room experience I've had in my travels and dozens of hotels!!!

Hotel is very nice! Staff is awesome! Spa is closed still due to local covid ordinances per what the front desk said... not really sure about that since there are spas every where around there still open so that was a downer when trying to do the full weekend escape with the lady! The casino is fun and the slots seemed to be hitting pretty well! We ate at the steak house. Prices were way high but the food was decent! The Ribs with an extra side is probably enough food for 3 people! The lady had the prime rib and it was pretty decent. You must get the chocolate bag for dessert! A solid bag shaped chocolate dumping out strawberries and blueberries in a homemade whipped cream. It was a perfect end to the meal! We will definitely plan regular staycations here!

Our entire experience was great! Hotel was quick, nice, and clean. Casino, though it does have a heavy smoke smell had plenty of slots and table games to choose from. We did have an issue with some slot play credit but that was quickly corrected by management. Would for sure stay and play again.

The staff is terrible. They have no concept of customer service. They are rude, hateful, and seem to visibly despise all of their customers. I understand bad days, but this staff is awful. The layout and parking lot are also no handicap accessible. The machines are too close together for someone who needs space to get into the chair, and we never could find a handicap accessible area into the building. Lastly, the machines VERY MUCH need updating and variety. The variety was awful, and payout was horrendous. Even in watching others, payouts were not great. The machines that are there are repetitive, and frankly, boring.

Beautiful gaming site πŸ‘Œ 😍 . Not sure about the payout % though. If you're interested the highest level of the parking garage has an incredible view of the establishment. The scenery at night is particularly amazing. If you are a gambler be sure to sign up for their loyalty program. They have great discounts and offers most days and you'll get free play for signing up. πŸ˜‰

Rooms haven’t been remodeled since it was built. Cleaning in the rooms and beds has fallen consistently over the past years. My most recent visit included me switching rooms twice due to black mold in the showers. Look closer if you stay and bed bugs in one room. Please check your mattress. Casino and game play has really fallen short lately also so good luck I guess. Stay was fine once we found a kinda clean room.

The most friendly front door greeters. I felt like they were waiting for me (my money). No $5 or $10 table games. Couldn't play tables. I won my money on poker machines. Had a good time. Beer is $6.25 for a bottle. Overall I had fun, mostly because I won money. Clean and very friendly.

It’s a nice casino, the dealers are super cool for new players, and returning ones as well, the smoking section smell does not run over into the non smoking table games, one thing I could suggest is that there could be more $10-15 blackjack tables open, usually on Fridays you have to be there by 7:30-8 pm to get a table at the smaller bets, otherwise you kinda have to vulture around a full table until someone leaves, but it is a great game if you play the side bets. Great payouts if you win any of those.

Spa was closed. Rooms are becoming dated. Front desk lady was very stand-offish. Nowhere does it say that you have to also have a 50 dollar incidental charged to a card on top of the room charge. Won't accept cash for this. Would be nice to know before you get there as you have to travel 20 minutes or so to go somewhere to load a card with money. As a cash person, this is not a friendly hotel. Casino doesn't allow smoking on the floor or in the rooms. The casino is completely dead most of the time. Can't get anything to eat in the hotel or casino or anywhere on the grounds unless it's between noon and 2000 hours. Besides that you're limited to Doordash per leaving the premises to eat. They do have 25 dollar minimum bet 2 deck blackjack which is a getting harder to find these days. So that was a plus. Overall this place has gone downhill and it shows in the quality of service and the number of guests.

The rooms are very nice! Beds are comfortable and lots of pillows! The casino itself is clean and there is room to move around. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and knowledgeable. You do seem to win on occasion here. Unlike their other casino lol I would definitely recommend Argosy if asked!

Great and comfortable rooms. I wasn't at all impressed with the choices of restaurants and I was very disappointed that the Spa was unavailable for the guest. I took my 17 year old grandson with me on this trip and I wish this place had some kind of Game Room or even a souvenir shop so had could have at least spent some money or had a little entertainment. Thank goodness there was at least a gym where he could work out some of his energy.

In my opinion, this is the second best casino in the KC area. They have the most relaxed ID requirements: they will let you in on an expired ID for a year after the expiration date, which was great when I lost my DL and only had an old copy. The only interactions with staff I've had were fair to positive (the 'bartenders' don't seem to like making complimentary drinks, but weren't outright rude about it). I rate it second and took a star off because the casino floor layout is ridiculously convoluted, so getting off the gaming floor to exit can be confusing. That and they don't have self-service drinks.

Had a really nice time. Staff super nice. Really wanted to try Journeys but they close before 10 or 11 I can't remember which. And we weren't ready to eat until 9. Next time we will set up a reservation!

I came to check out the place. I thought it was nice and entertaining. There’s restaurants inside, but I haven’t tried the food yet. I enjoyed spending an hr here or so. Lots of parking. Staffs were attentive. I liked that there were non-smoking areas πŸ‘.

Every time I win any money I already have that or more of my money in the machine. I pay for every jackpot but to come out even, or $3- $700.above what I spent is at least something. The fun isn't worth what I have lost but it's the only entertainment that allows sound familiar??

This is a truly fun casino and has some incredible food as well. My recommendation when you need a break from winning all that money is to feast at Leo's Deli it has amazing sandwiches served both cold and hot off the griddle. They also have sides and cookies as well as drinks and the portions are very satisfying. Highly recommend will be back again.

99 Hops House right outside casino had a pork tenderloin sandwich that was so good my sweetheart couldn’t finish his beer. My salad was good too and our server, Sean, gave us great service with a smile. Check in ladies were very efficient and nice. Room was great, nice and clean. The only negative for me is the smoke in the casino.

  • 3/5 Lara S. 1 year ago on Google
Nice rooms very friendly staff. The desk clerks are all awesome. The only complaint is the smoke throughout the place. I was on the 1st floor and smelt cigarettes smoke and marijuana. This is unacceptable.. complained several times about the smell. But lovely place

I can only comment on the casino as I have never stayed at the hotel. They have a big selection of games, old and new. Have won on a lot of machines here. They keep everything very clean. Never smells like I have been smoking cigarettes all day when I leave.

I have never experienced a more unwelcoming staff like this hotel. For example I had my room key and driver license present the room was in my name and the front desk would not let me call my own room and was extremely rude. That's just one of many pleasurable memories I will take home.

This place is gorgeous. It is almost over the top in it's Greek and Roman styling but they pulled it off well. Ostentatious and not quite gaudy it reminds me of old fancy museums. The hotel rooms are gorgeous and the double showers are so very cool. Best gaming rooms in the city. Hard to get in to and out of, but you can do it and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is heavy and shiny. It is worth a trip. They have quite a spot.

The casino floor has a variety of slots - something for everyone. There are a few tables, but they always seem to be full and there are automated tables. The restaurants I've visited have been delicious & affordable. The rooms I've stayed in were nice and made me feel "fancy".

  • 3/5 Mark D. 1 year ago on Google
I never got the $50 dollar gambling credit for staying the night. Was a real hassle trying to get help. Probably not the best idea to stay here if you are into sports betting, even the employees drive down the street to place bets in Kansas. Live band was awesome, Chinese restaurant was great. Steak restaurant was really good. I hated the smoking everywhere, really stinks up the place.

We get much more playing time with our money at The Argosy than at Hollywood Casino. Until recently, mostly all of our playing was done at Hollywood. When my birthday month rolled around, Hollywood gave me a big $5.00 free slot play. The Argosy gave me $100.00!! After spending most of our money at Hollywood, I can see who appreciates our business!

  • 5/5 Felica J. 2 years ago on Google
I was having a hard time picking between all the casinos around me. And by nerding out I started comparing them by customer reviews and post made by the casinos. Argosy seemed to have better reviews and better payout options. By ending up with Argosy. I stand by my decision. We had such a blast great atmosphere and I won over and over just didn't know when to walk away. Clean great slot selection. We will def be back.

  • 3/5 William L. 2 years ago on Google
Fair selection of games and meal options that would make a fun outing from time to time. However, the games do pay on the lower scale like Blackjacks paying 6to5 instead of 3to2. Masks are optional to wear inside of the casino, but wearing a mask does help with filtering out the smell of cigarettes throughout the casino.

  • 3/5 Lucia H. 2 years ago on Google
Super smokey in there... i don't know if the smoke eaters weren't working or if that many people were smoking that they couldn't keep up with it. Not many folks wearing masks but I put mine on to help with the smoke. Slots were tight tonight.... I didnt see many winners or hear many jackpot noises. I did see one guy winning big at the tables tonight but we didn't stay.

Hotel is located out of the way by itself but next to a major highway. Hotel is clean and quiet. No good view out of the windows, just a river and parking lot. Staffs are friendly. Check in and check out is quick. Hotel room has plenty of storage spaces and room to move around. We were in a double queen room and the room has a desk and small refrigerator. We stayed on a Sunday, no restaurants are open except for a coffee and bakery shop by the casino entry.
