Been here several times but last time waitress was rude. My mother asked if daughter could seat on high chair at end of table she asked Supervisor he said yes. But waitress said no bc "fire hazard" like there was gonna be a fire and we would run over our daughter??? It was open area. I didn't have problem my issue was lack of respect the Supervisor said we could and his worker questioned him and told him no and sat there arguing with him telling him no. Like who is boss in situation?? The waitress or the Supervisor. She should of respected his decision instead went out of her way to fight about it. Which left me upset that it was that big of deal for toddler to sit in high chair. Then she forgot one of our plates we ordered and we waited good 20min before asking where was other plate which by that time we just wanted to leave so we asked for it to go then she said bc item was happy hour it can't be taken to go. But if it had came out when we ordered it, it wouldn't of been Togo but then she gave us to go box anyways.

Restaurant location is good. Plenty of parking, with seating indoor or outside patio. Those looking for AC and away from the train should opt for indoor. Food presentations were easy on the eyes and flavoring was good. Our party enjoyed the complimentary chips, but the salsa was too running and lack flavor. The star of the show are the margaritas and service. The drinks were strong and flavor were excellent! Went really well with a hot muggy afternoon.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food with great flavor, reasonable prices, and friendly customer service then you'll love El Patron. My experience started with a short wait time for a party of 6. Once we got our booth, the friendly waitress, Marie, served us fresh chips with delicious salsa. We ordered our drinks and while we waited for them, we looked at the menu. The menu had a variety of drinks, appetizers, entrees, specialities, and desserts. So, there is something here for everyone. Our drinks were served within 3 minutes of ordering them and then we ordered our food. I ordered the "make your own combination" plate, with two chile rellenos and a carnitas enchilada. After ordering, the food was served promptly within 15 mins. The beans and rice were well seasoned, the enchilada was packed with carnitas, and the chile rellenos were absolutely delicious, made with the right cheese (Monterrey Jack). Marie the waitress was very attentive, always making sure we were taken care of. This is my second time coming to El Patron and I'm well satisfied. I highly recommend it!

Really great food! The flavors were just right and the portions were very generous. Honestly, I was about to give up on finding a mid scale Latin restaurant but this might be my new go to place. $30-$50 for 2 with appetizer and dessert.

This place is great. We went on Sunday during their brunch. Bottomless Hermosa, margarita, bloody Mary. Pozole was bomb 💣. Please don't go when I go. J/k. Sometimes they have mariachi playing too.

Loved the environment! We went for brunch (limited menu) - no Chips and Salsa - However the bottomless Mimosas were a hit (take a designated driver). I had the Chile Relleno Burrito, it was delish and huge, I couldn't finish it.  The menudo bowl was full of flavor. Our waitress/server was hard working, super friendly and always made sure we had what we needed. The Owner is super chill and down to earth, checking on her customers as well.

Omg this place has THE BEST FLAN! please don’t ever change the recipe. We are visiting from Houston, Texas and this is our 2nd time at El Patron. On our way to California, all we were thinking about was the flan at El Patron. The margaritas were good. Last year I ordered the carnitas plate — it was delicious! This year I wasn’t too hungry so I got the tortilla soup bc I wanted to leave room for the flan 😋🤤🤤🤤

Great authentic Mexican food! I ate 2 of five dinners here. Fajitas were awesome, and the Camrones del Diablo were delicious. The atmosphere was fun, they had a live DJ and do karaoke on Wednesday nights. Their margaritas are to die for. Wish I could steal the recipe.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere there last night, it was pretty packed but the more the merrier, the waitresses were submitted to my tipsy friends' bad jokes and unsolicited advances but they had great comebacks and humor, not even the bus boy was spared 🙄and we had great laughs and a a really good time and one more thing the shrimp tostada for $6 was fire and here to send the cook and the staff here at El Patron a big shout out!... well done guys!!

Nice brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Chile relleno burrito is satisfying. Objects of horses are impressive. Sometimes you have to wait, but it's worth waiting.

Festival of Lights night??? Apparently, it changed from the day after Thanksgiving? Did not know this. Wrong night to try a new place. We sat in the bar, which was fine. Too busy for good service, bar tender was having a ruff night, although a couple of employees did try. We were never offered chip and salsa. I ordered the Grande Burrito, carne asada green was good. Carne Asada Plate, my friend said was okay. The valet was free. The poor guy and his wife were super sweet as the person who parked our car didn't write on the card where he parked it, and his shift ended. So the poor guy that came on shift had to hunt to find the car. May give it another try once the holidays have calmed.

Came here for the first time and it was great!!! We were in the mood for a molcajete but were being a little extra picky and thought that we should have it with home made tortillas and we found this little gem 💎. The staff was very friendly and attentive Brady was our server and he made sure we were good by checking in with us at a higher than expected frequency which was excellent!! Great environment! I had an Old Fashioned and it was on point! I highly recommend it and will definitely be back again.

The food was decent however, I came in at 11:30 in the morning...they opened at 11:00 a.m. I had to ask for fresh chips as the ones that was served to me were pretty cold and my meal came out dry/hard... it was shredded pork. I'm assuming because they kept food from the previous night. So, it may be a good idea to ask the server to tell the cook to make sure the food is fresh if you plan to be there when they first open. Overall, the food tasted good and the server was nice.

El Patron in Downtown Riverside has the best fajitas (Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas is what I order), the best Molcajete, outstanding Camarones a la diabla, and for brunch, I love their Chilaquiles and Pozole! THE BEST PART THEY HAVE HAND MADE TORTILLAS FOR YOUR ORDER, AND THEY ARE WELL MADE! Wonderful customer service. They welcome customers as family. Our first time there, we were welcomed to the family, and ever since, we kept going back because everything here is good every time we visit, including the drinks! Also, the good coffee for breakfast complements our order when we come in for brunch. Even the children love it! Sometimes we come at a good time for Mariachi on the weekend. We love to eat here for both brunch and dinner!

The food was alright. I had a carnita grande burrito which was huge. The flavor of the sauce was alright but not very flavorful. The meat was really fatty. The drinks were horrible. The flavor was bad and overwhelming. For example, we ordered a paloma that tasted of old bitter lime; we couldn't even taste the liquor. The best part of my experience was the service. Jennifer did a good job and was very attentive.

The food was very good. Our server Mary was fantastic. She made sure we had what we needed. She kept checking on us. She was friendly and smiling and upbeat. I would definitely go back. Borracho Fries are a must try.

Seen this place in a reel on Thursday went on Sunday for brunch. We got there right at 11am and the parking lot was full already. Once we got in, they quoted a 2hr wait, but we asked if we could sit at the bar and were seated immediately. It was great. I had the green chilaquiles 💚 and bottomless margaritas 🍹 😋 ... everything was so tasty. Our bartender was funny and we even met the owner and heard her story about El Patron... 2nd location coming soon in Murrieta... Definitely want to go back and try some of the other menu items.

Service was very nice and funny. The food didn’t worth the price, too expansive. The drink also. But the place is nice

What a lovely place with amazing customer service. I had just left another restaurant nearby that treated my party very poorly so when the waitress at El Patron was super nice it was like a breath of fresh air. This was my first time here but I am definitely coming back! Food was delicious as well

I just have to say the MAIN reason me and my fiancé came back is not just all the amazing workers here. But one in particular, Jessica! The MOST AMAZING service I have ever had, and we’ve only been twice but both times we were blessed to have her. Great food. Great atmosphere. And all around great service. Jessica you are truly amazing and next time I go I hope we get lucky to have you again!

Been coming here for a long time! spoke to management 2 days ago about our group coming down to celebrate a birthday. Explained that to the female host. COMPLETELY RUDE. told me an hour wait. Then after over 1 hour waiting she said another hour. Place was not busy. There were empty tables etc. Told us to go somewhere else after I told her El Patron will lose business over long wait times and rude service. She even had the balls to walk outside after I left and told my family and I again to go somewhere else. As a veteran,, we expect a little more class and appreciation not only for us but for all, so guess what, we won't be back.

Honestly it was all right, I brought my mom here for Mother’s Day and they sat us down at a cocktail table that was so unstable my things were falling, we asked to move to another table and they just simply gave us another cocktail table that was smaller than the first one. I was hoping to receive Mexican vibes during our time here but really didn’t get that at all. The staff was really nice, I did appreciate them and the food was good. If you want to just chill at the bar with some friends it’s probably a cool spot.

Food is good. If you go in large groups, just be sure to pay cash or on one or two cards. They also charge for sides: butter, salsa, etc.
