This was a great experience. The staff was really friendly and helpful and the admission price was low. Inside there are two floors of memorabilia, pictures, and exhibits. There were a lot of things I didn't know and they have a lot of items that have been donated by real people over the years. I learned a lot and it gave me a new appreciation for this fascinating culture.

Ok, not going to lie. When we first pulled up, my teens & hubby were not impressed. But they learned again to never judge a book by its cover. Once we got inside it was beyond incredible. You could go through this place a dozen times and on the 13th visit learn/see something new. There is a surprise around every corner. The staff are so friendly and are more then willing to share their wealth of personal experiences and knowledge. A perfect day trip for the entire family. This place is full of history, fun and ...well there are no words to really describe it.

Really enjoyed my visit! I could’ve spent days there learning about history. Well curated collection and it’s displayed well. Really takes you back in history. Be sure to take time to talk to the people who work there - you’re sure to enjoy the conversation. Can’t wait to go back!

We headed here half expecting Mystery Shack/Scooby-Doo vibes but holy cow were we surprised! This museum is amazing! The building is huge and packed with exhibits and stuff of display. It is very clean, everything is very well displayed and staff was extremely knowledgeable. So glad we stopped in, highly recommend this place. It is super cool.

The Showman’s Museum was so fascinating to see. It’s off the beaten path in Gibsonton which has a rich history and where carnival folks would winter. The museum is done well and so much to see. I’m old enough to remember many things that I saw there. It is worth the visit for sure.

Hidden gem. The first paid, commercial airline flight was flown out of St Petersburg! Who knew?! Very nice exhibit on Tony Jannus circa MAR 2017. I also caught the Fighting for the Right to Fight exhibit that highlighted the efforts and contributions of African Americans during World War II. Reasonably priced and well worth a stop!

Such a fun outing on a random weekend! This place is much larger than we expected. We spent about 2 hours on a self guided tour looking at all the carnival memorabilia they've collected, dating back as early as the late 1700s. And of course, goofy pictures are encouraged! Parking was easy inside the gate and around to the right of the building. There were also a couple of neat large vehicles and train cars on the outside property. I think our favorite part, other than silly photos, was the huge diorama and the detail they put into it. It even included the little power wires on the ground originating from generators. Definitely recommend!

Fascinating and charming. A labor of love in a small town, a sense of immediacy with lots of artifacts still being restored. Don't miss the hand-crafted miniature circus on the 2nd level. Only minus, the music is loud and repetitive.

This museum is interesting and has a variety of display to see. If you are interested in aviation, Baseball, Egyptian Mummies and local history then you should definitely visit this little known gem. I think it will be worth revisiting in the near future as they are expanding.

Pretty cool historical place! Much bigger than it seems and worth the visit for sure. Especially for senior citizens wanting to relieve some memories

Small, construction in area hampers access but its reduced rate right now. HUGE collection of autographed baseballs and some really cool history behind some of them. Good history of St Pete section. Airplane section in progress. Cheap place to get out of the heat for a while.

Had access to archives to research my homes history in St. Petersburg ( c. 1926). Interesting to learn about the city and it's development. They gave me some good resources of where to look for more information. I was able to see who was the first owner of my home, it was a local doctor. Worth a visit to museum to see collection of baseball memorbelia as as well as featured traveling exhibits.

A great way to spend an afternoon! The museum is full of fascinating and fun artifacts and displays about independent circuses, fairs, and shows. The museum even addresses some of the shady parts of carnival history (like minstrel shows and human exhibits) with thoughtfulness and sensitivity.

This museum is awesome. As a kid, we didn’t have sideshows but much of the rest was well laid out. The staff was also very well versed in the history of carnivals. They spent as much time as I had and was very pleasant. This place is truly a hidden gem!

The information was very interesting. Had first commercial flight info and plane, a mummy, a huge room about baseball with tons of signed baseball's , info about old FL living including fishing, display on St Petersburg in W W 2 and a display on Webb City. Really cool if you like hystory for a great price.

I love museums. This one is unique because of the oldest mummy, the baseball collection, and the St. Petersburg history. The knowledgeable young woman who worked there filled in the gaps that the exhibit did not cover. Really nice experience.

Absolutely love the mummy that's there! Highly recommend anyone to head there! They just need more of a selection on Egypt!

The museum has absolutely screwed a wonderful, small, family owned business that sublease within the same building called Hops & Props. H&P is a downtown St. Pete gem that is extremely family (and dog) friendly. The staff is super friendly, their food is awesome, and it has been one of our favorite go-to spots for many years to enjoy family time and a good meal outside. It is unthinkable that the museum is suddenly not renewing Hops & Props lease, after they have struggled through years of Pier construction and recent pandemic — and finally had a light at the end of the tunnel with the Pier opening. Places like Hops & Props are what makes St. Pete unique and special. I cannot support the museum which clearly does not support small local businesses. I encourage you to do the same and go visit one of the many other museums within walking distance.

It was under construction when we were there and there was nothing on the website about it. Could only access a small portion of the museum but still had to pay full price.

👍👍 Let's get through the technical first. 1) The entry way is the one before the golf course and if you see a gate and it's closed that's ok. It's not for the parking, which as others have noted is parking limited. So I opted for the golf course parking and walked the few extra steps. If you happen to...
