Great hotel if you are ok with losing your room while driving from out of town! My husband , dog and myself have stayed at this location a few times as it is a halfway point for our trips. I made an online reservation almost a week before the stay, did the online check in where it said room was ready. As we are en route to hotel after many hours of driving I get a call from the front desk worker “hi just letting you know we are overbooked you don’t have a room.” … I’m sorry what? She could have cared less, I said well that’s odd because I have had this reservation for days , and my online check in says room is ready. Front desk worker said “oh yeah weird our system did something I’m not really sure but no rooms” … I said well what is then resolution here? We are literally on our way with our dog and need a place to stay, can I talk to the manager? Shockingly no manager was there, the front desk worker said she’d have the manager call me back… You guessed it no call. We had to call Hilton Corporate which took around an hour with being re routed to multiple people and departments- while eventually corporate did help us to figure out a solution the whole thing was simply unacceptable. At one point someone told us oh try the holiday inn down the road, WHAT! I will absolutely never book to stay at this location let alone any home 2 suites as that is so unsettling not knowing if you really do have a reservation with little to know help. Maybe look into “the system “ that does the booking because I sure hope no one else has to deal with such.

My partner and I stayed here over the weekend and were impressed with the staff members and their assistance. We stayed in a handicap-accessible room, as it was all that was available with a king sized bed that was originally booked, and the room was equipped with a sink and refrigerator which were both perks. The room was large enough for us to accommodate a pack and play for our baby, which was also helpful. Unfortunately the hotel itself has seen better days. The rooms are noticeably starting to fall apart, from peeling wall paper, to half-done repairs (ex: the toilet paper holder was moved but the hole where it used to be was patched very poorly), the bathroom sink leaked when used, and during our stay 1 of the 2 elevators stopped working and slowed everyone down. Neither the ice machines on the first or fourth floors worked either, which was disappointing.

I stayed in a suite which was nice and large for my 2 toddlers to have room in. Unfortunately the pool was closed for a bit, then the chlorine was so strong in the pool area we were forced to leave after 5min bc our eyes were burning. Location is great! Hotel staff is friendly, hotel does need a lot of updating. Was not a fan of walking through people smoking to get in the side door with my children and myself having asthma and allergies. It's an adorable outside area but way too close to the entry doors

This was the worst Hilton hotel I have ever experienced. *The person at the front desk is not only rude but makes every effort to do as little as possible. I asked if they had any coffee (we checked in about 8 pm) she told me she doesn't make coffee, that if I wanted some I could wait until breakfast or make my own in the room. She was more interested in talking to her co-worker than actually helping. That was the start of this really weird experience. *The room was clean. No complaints with housekeeping. The sink in the kitchen area did not drain properly, but it was not a big deal. *Breakfast was quite odd. No coffee again. I had to ask, and then I received a cup of coffee. The coffee urn never appeared while I was there. Apparently, coffee really isn't their thing. There was a pot of either grits or oatmeal, but that was pushed towards the back since it was empty and crusty. The bread used for toast looked like it may have been sitting there for several days. The waffle maker looked like it had seen cleaner days. The person that was "servicing" this area was friendly but appeared as if she really didn't know what to do. Everything was very sparse and was not being replenished. *What made me really write this review is the manager who was strolling around in his suit and not helping. He walked by the breakfast area several times, not making any attempt to help with the obvious situation. He was more interested in straightening his suit at every pass. I would not complain if I had paid under $100 for the night. It is not worth what they are charging.

Guest services was nice. Clean room and well appointed. Plenty of space in the rooms. Bed was comfortable. Shower is always hot and bathrooms are clean. The building does show a little age. "High Speed" Internet is only slightly faster than dial up. Bring a hotspot.

The hotel is incredibly convenient. Close to the airport, lots of restaurants, gas stations, Sam’s club, etc. The staff is helpful and pleasant and our accommodation was great. The breakfast buffet is a great value too. The staff who puts on the breakfast each morning are kind and work hard! The rooms are perfect for people who prefer to make their own food or who may have food sensitivities since there’s a good sized refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal in each room; a great way to save money too. We stay here each time we visit Roanoke and recommend it highly.

The overall cleanliness of that hotel is disgusting. Main common areas are extremely dirty. Elevator areas are dirty. The outside of the hotel is disgusting with dog s*** everywhere. The cleaning crews are rude! The front desk workers and the kitchen staff were the only pleasing part of my entire stay. I have stayed there since they opened but will no longer be staying there. The pool was absolutely disgusting. They claim to use non toxic chemicals but the pool looks like It hasn't had a real deep clean at all. Walked outside and smelled like people were burning the devil's lettuce. Not what I expected from a Hilton Hotel..

My family and I stayed at this hotel several times prior to Covid. It became our go to hotel when visiting family. However, this past trip will make us rethink our choices of hotels. Outside of the downgrade in breakfast options, it took three times to reach out to hotel staff regarding issues with our sink and TV. The sink wasn't draining properly and for some reason the hotel TV wouldn't access local stations. To top it off, housekeeping left a giant bag of trash sitting outside our door. Once we complained, again for the third time, some action was taken to fix the sink and room the trash. I was told that hotel management would give me a call, which they never did, and no one from management followed up to see if our issues had been fixed. The in-house handy man did his best to resolve our issue and follow up with us. I appreciate his hard work, but I would expect someone in a management position to take the time to check on a guest that had a record of recent complaints. My family and I visit the area twice a year and will have to take a look at other hotels if this is the level of service we can expect.

This is the worst Hilton that I have stayed at. I’m a gold member they did not offer the complementary water and snacks. When we got in the room the paint looked terrible. Want to take a shower both the shampoo and body wash dispenser we’re broke. The air conditioner was not working right and was making noise all night. The air filters for the air conditioner were filthy. The drain stopper in the sink doesn’t work. They had two TV remotes and both didn’t work good. The dishes were dirty. They didn’t have the sheets and blanket for the pull out couch. The garbage disposal wasn’t working so I reset it. Staff really was not professional.

I am a loyal Hilton customer. I have always been comfortable at any Hilton brand hotel; I know I can trust the quality. My husband and I had a date night at the Home2 Suites. Though the room was clean, and service was great; I was surprised by the decision to charge locals an extra $250 deposit. This charge is inconsistent with other Hilton hotels in the valley. I didn't mind this hotel it wasn't my style and the deposit made me feel like my loyalty wasn't valued.

We stayed one night at this hotel. On the good side the bed was comfortable and the heat/ac worked fine. The bathroom sink was obviously clogged somewhat ran slow. There was a roach that ran out from underneath the sink cabinet. One of the towel hooks and also the soap dispenser in the shower were pulled out of the wall. And at some point there was a leak into the shower light which did not work and it looked a mess! Paint was sloppily applied to cover it unsuccessfully. I could hear and feel vibration of people walking above us. I made desk personnel aware of the attention needed in 317, definitely not Hilton standards. She was very gracious and compensated us for the nights stay. I can't comment on breakfast because we didn't eat there after seeing the roach in our bathroom! How would I describe the hotel on their survey? Below standard.

My recent stay at Home Suites by Hilton was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth, comfort, and pure hospitality. This establishment exceeded all my expectations, setting a new standard for what a home-away-from-home experience should be. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff, who made me feel like a cherished guest right from the start. The check-in process was swift, and I was soon on my way to my suite. As I entered my room, I was immediately struck by the pristine cleanliness and attention to detail. It was clear that every nook and cranny had been meticulously cared for. The suite itself was a masterpiece of design and functionality. The spacious living area, complete with a fully equipped kitchen, felt like a cozy haven where I could unwind after a long day of softball games. The bedroom was an oasis of serenity, boasting a plush bed that provided me with the most restful night's sleep I've had in a while. The modern bathroom with its sleek fixtures and complimentary toiletries added a touch of luxury to my stay. One standout feature of Home Suites by Hilton is the complimentary breakfast. I've stayed at many hotels, but none have offered such a diverse and delicious breakfast spread. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty American breakfast or a lighter continental option, this place has you covered. The breakfast staff was not only attentive but also eager to ensure that every guest's needs were met. Oh, and the warm cookies. What truly sets Home Suites by Hilton apart, though, is the exceptional staff. Throughout my stay, they consistently went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Whether it was providing local dining recommendations, arranging transportation, or simply offering a warm smile and greeting, their dedication to guest service was truly remarkable. In summary, Home Suites by Hilton has redefined the concept of a home away from home. The combination of a welcoming atmosphere, impeccably designed suites, delicious breakfast, and outstanding service makes this hotel a standout choice for travelers of all types. I cannot recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning for another exceptional stay. Thank you, Home Suites by Hilton, for making my trip unforgettable!

The location was awesome and the rooms and amenities were in very good shape. The reason why I’m rating 3 stars is because the breakfast was very poor in comparison to all the home2suites we’ve been so far. It wasn’t stocked -no oats, yogurts, pastry, tea, fresh fruits - as the rest. Mr Charles who was serving it was very polite but unfortunately couldn’t do much with the few ingredients available. This was exactly the same the entire stay. We had to eat breakfast outside all days. If you enjoy Home2Suites breakfasts choose somewhere else :/

While most things were fine, the morning breakfast and service was poor. They ran out of bowls for cereal and coffee. We had to ask repeatedly about that. They just kept saying it was coming. When I tried to reach for what I thought was a cereal bowl, the serviceman there literally yelled at me. This is not the Hilton way normally. The room was fine. Receptionists were polite and very helpful.

With the exception of 90° hallways, it was very nice. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast food was good, except don't eat the round potato patties, I'm not sure what those were!

My room is huge, with a fridge, dishwasher, microwave, sink, wardrobe, good-size desk, roll-out table, love seat with footstool, and lots of drawer space. The office chair is comfy. However, the entry door is so warped (with bent hinges) that I have to shoulder it open and closed. The chair is dirty and stained, and the couch smells musty and smoky. I had to change clothes after sitting on it. There is peeling wallpaper in the bathroom that makes it look like the humidity is getting to it. Give it a 4 for the amenities and a 2 for cleanliness.

Bed bugs!!!!! The worst hotel experience I’ve had in decades. In addition to coming home covered in bed bug bites, we found the service to be horrible and the rooms subpar. The front desk staff was surly and uninterested in being helpful (it took 3 trips over 2 days to get a replacement light bulb). But the bed bugs were definitely the worst. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.

We almost exclusively stay at Home2Suites locations when traveling. This one does not come close to meeting the standard we’ve come to expect. The air conditioner was not being used in the lobby, hallways, or common areas and it was miserably hot in the middle of the summer. Our room was also hot upon arrival and took a while to cool down. We specifically requested a room with a bathtub as we have a child with a disability (we were put in a room with an accessible shower which didn’t accommodate what we needed for our child at all). I contacted the hotel using my app and asked about rooms with a tub. My message has still gone ignored. We also didn’t really have time to change rooms at that point because we had 3 kids we needed to settle down for the evening and it was chaotic and hot. It was frustrating because according to the Hilton app the room we chose had a bathtub. The shower was dirty and not sealed properly so the floor of the shower was peeling away and mildewy. The pool area burned your eyes with the smell of dirty water and chlorine. The water also looked cloudy and gross. One of the elevators was in clear need of repair and scared my kids to even get into it (the elevator door opened and closed super slow too). Overall, the place felt gross and it didn’t feel very safe for travel with a family. If you’re used to the staying at Home2Suites don’t go here because you will be disappointed.

We travel to Virginia from Maryland for our son’s football game and on the way back home we caught a flat tire. We called this hotel and the guest service lady for that night was awesome. Such great hospitality and customer service. The room was clean, bathroom was clean and nice comfortable clean bed. Thank you

Easy to get to from 81. Front desk staff were incredibly friendly. Rooms are large and well stocked for extended stays. You can bring your dog! The breakfast was really good with lots of hot, fresh options. The Mexican restaurant next door is open late and has really good food.

Wonderful stay would be happy to stay again. Breakfast was phenomenal, do change a thing with breakfast. Would be great to have an area near the door for motorcycle parking that's viewed by a camera, as it generally takes more trips to unload and security can be an issue, i.e; stolen motorcycles at hotels...it would prevent from having to park in non-designated areas to ensure security. Other than that, I can't complain about anything. It was great!

This hotel is very nice with tons of amenities. Only minor downfall, we requested fresh towls and washcloths, no one delivered them to our suite. The kind gentleman at the front desk handed them to us. I noticed that once in our suite, one of the washcloths was stained (Detailed spot checks are highly recommended). The shower body wash ran out (Recommend replacing after each new guest). During breakfast before 9 AM, there was no food. Stood in line for an extended period to wait for more food and the service counter was very sloppy (Recommend staff frequent the area for cleanness and constant flow of food). Overall, the experience was pleasant and will revisit again.

The staff have been very nice and accommodating, allowing us to book rooms close together. I hesitated to write this review, but after reading so many others that are similar I felt I needed to. I wish I would’ve read them ahead of time, but we were exhausted and needed to get something booked. When I booked these rooms I was expecting the quality of every other Hilton hotel we have stayed in on our cross country journey, but it was very disappointing. Bugs under the mattress my daughter slept in. Stains on linens and mattresses. Lots of trash under the couch/pull out bed. Splatter marks where the trash cans are. This place needs an overhaul, it’s not up to what should be expected. Please do better.

Clean hotel with nice suites and very friendly staff. Khalil, Front Desk Associate, Mr. Henry and Charles, Food Service were very friendly and extremely personable. The facility had ample luggage carts and plenty of parking available. There is a Mexican restaurant next door which we were told has good food. Moreover, there is a huge shopping plaza across the street with a Carrabba's Italian Restaurant that is top rated. We really enjoyed our meal and the customer service in the award winning location. The bathroom had a great supply of hot water and good lighting. We will definitely be returning to this location when we are in the area!

The pool and hot tub area had so much chlorine it burned your eyes just being in there. The breakfast was decent one and then trash the next. The didn't have enough plates so people were waiting for others to be done so they could wash there plate. Staff did not seem to really care about anything really zero sense of urgency. Rooms were okay shower doors just keep opening by themselves. Do not recommend.

I just checked out of this hotel. A couple things of note. 1. The evening staff member at check in had her very young daughter with her all evening. 2. One of the maids had her young son with her. When we were leavimg the restaurant next door we saw a man whip his belt off and run into the lobby. When we into the lobby the young boy who was with the maid came in front door upset. The aforementioned evening staff member approached me while I was asking the boy if he was alright and I told her what happened. She stated he "was just spanked". So, she obviously witnessed the assault in the child l. I told her the man had a belt. I told her I was calling the police. She proceeded to become defensive and tell me the boy's mother was not a staff member and they were all just staying there which was an obvious lie as her daughter spoke up and told me the guy was the boy's stepfather. Also, we had seen the woman cleaning several areas of the hotel. 3. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the room. 4. One of the 2 elevators was terrifyingly slow and creaky.. 4. The sink in the room stunk tremendously from the garbage disposal. 5. The Mexican restaurant next door was very good..6. The morning staff were exceptionally friendly and professional.

Great hotel! We were in town for a baseball tournament and read some previous reviews and were nervous about this hotel but our experience was 5 stars. Great staff, breakfast attendants were on top of it and very friendly. The rooms were large and comfortable. The pool was a huge hit for the boys. Overall great stay!

We chose this hotel because it came highly recommend from a family member who stayed there in the past. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The front desk staff were helpful and seemed eager to help any way they could. I was so happy that dogs are welcome and that the hotel is neat and clean ! The outdoor areas are just as nice as the indoor space. We had an issue with a room next to us; however, it was resolved and handled by one of the mangers Shauntel which impressed us because she genuinely cared about our stay. Next time we are in Roanoke we will definitely stay here again !

Cliff, Guest Services, made me feel welcomed! He is guest-services oriented, ensured my needs were met, and was very knowledgeable about hotel features. He indulged me in conversation, and I felt as though I was amongst family. Thank you Homes2Suites for knowing the asset you have in Cliff. He truly enhance my stay!

My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on Jan 1st. Our sweet daughter knew that we have only celebrated twice in 20 years, anywhere but at home with our kids. She rented us a room at this hotel, so we could just get away for the night. We absolutely loved it! The sweet lady that checked me in knew it was our anniversary and wished us a happy one as soon as she knew who we were. Everyone there was so nice. The room we had was huge and it was very clean! We went to the pool and sat in the jacuzzi and just hung out in our room and had the best time! We will definitely be back soon!!

Back in June of this year I came down with my family to go to my cousins wedding. We stayed at this hotel for a couple days and everything went great. This same year we came down to see my family for Christmas and we decided to stay in the same hotel as it was great the first time. In just those 6 months a lot has gone downhill with this hotel. There was no shampoo or towels in our rooms. The elevator kept breaking every time we had to use it so we had to use the stairs. The front desk people are very unprofessional. I went downstairs to the lobby a couple times to grab some snacks and the lady behind the counter was holding her kid while charging my room for the snacks. At times me and my family felt unsafe because there were sketchy people hanging out in the lobby all night long and sitting out in their cars playing loud music and playing loud music in their rooms. I don’t understand what happened to such a great hotel, but I will never stay at this hotel again. For any future guests taking a trip and staying at this hotel, don’t. There are much better places to stay

Wonderful hotel experience! All the staff I dealt with were extremely friendly and offered their thanks for my stay. The room was spacious, clean, and well stocked. I was offered free water every morning. Although I did not have a dog, they seemed to truly love dogs not just accept them. They had dog (and cat) treats and instructional signage geared for pets. The room did not smell like dog. I cannot comment on the breakfast.

Very poor service. They won't get you a taxi. They clean the room when they want (7 days without cleaning after asking 3 times). They won't answer in the Hilton app. Room was smelly. Very bad breakfast. And amenities missing in the room. Can't understand how Hilton can have such a poor quality hotel.

  • 2/5 Hollie D. 1 year ago on Google
We had 2 rooms. One was dirty (trash from previous guests, unclean sheets and comforter). They moved them to another room. The attached photo is the wash cloth after I scrubbed the AC unit in the new room that had mold all over it. Every time my mother went downstairs the front desk would say "what now?" The one employee at check in told my husband the cereal would be the best thing available at breakfast, they weren't joking. No toaster (it was broken). The water taste like chlorine. Very little options. The rooms also need some TLC when it comes to repairs and remodeling. I guess we just expected more from a hilton chain.

Just stayed there this past weekend. Hotel very clean, bed was comfortable, loved that they are dog friendly since I had to take my 3 with me. Staff very helpful and friendly. Henry was so helpful during breakfast times to make sure everyone was accommodated. Definitely would stay there again! Thanks for a great stay.

Well let me explain review because I didn't stay to know much about service. The room was nice and clean. The reason I rated middle is it wasn't nothing extra ordinary and to me its priced high enough per night to be decked out and have jacuzzi and pool, free meal something but you only get the basics.

Please step up your breakfast game. No one likes jimmy dean cardboard biscuits. Most other home2 i stay at have better breakfast. Also clean the mold from around the shampoo and soap dispensers. Mine was also empty but i had a bar of soap in my travel bag so didn’t bother to ask. 121 nights in hilton hotels this year and its may. First time ive had mold in the shower.

We were staying here for a graduation. Checked in at 3 and the toilet overflowed. We had to leave for the ceremony - so we asked for the staff to fix and to clean the bathroom once done since the bowl overflowed. We return back at 10pm and the bathroom was not cleaned. Asked to move rooms but the hotel was full with only 1 person on staff. Finally got the bathroom at 11pm. Do not recommend

Bed bugs in Room 126 (and 128). As a Diamond member, I expected the same caliber of service and cleanliness. First red flag was the staff and their professionalism. Being that I had already driven a long ways, I ignored that and accepted what we room they wanted to offer. We then found a green pill in the room on the floor suggesting the room wasn't cleaned. I called the desk but housekeeping was already gone. I then started reading reviews and nervous when I saw someone report Room 128 had bed bugs since I was assigned 126! I hoped it was not true and went to sleep. I am now back home the next day with bed bug bites!!!! Please don't stay here. Hilton, please close this location! It is not your quality and I would know based on frequent travel.
