The history lesson was informative. The food was excellent. I am vegan and my guests were not and there was something for everyone. Very nicely plated dishes. I loved that you could walk out to the dock and catch a nice breeze.

Audrey, the director, has a vision to continue the cultural wisdom of the Garifuna people. She is articulate and very knowledgeable about her ancestry. We also took part in a cooking class to learn how to make machuka.

We enjoyed the presentation and insights into the history and culture of the Garufina people. Also purchased a couple gifts, and some great coconut bread.

We absolutely loved our time here. The quick history lesson, the drumming, the dancing - all delightful and as interactive as one wishes. We made our visit there an add-on to Daniel's Monkey Hangout, and are very happy we did.

It was lovely to learn about the Garifuna community. The tour was very engaging and informative. Audrey was knowledgeable. Definitely consider a visit while on the island. The food at the restaurant was also delicious!

Our trio loved learning about the history of the Garífuna community on Roatan. We walking in for a casual 20 minute-ish tour that was well worth $5 per person. Audrey (who founded the space with her sister) was extremely engaging and gave us space to ask questions as we went along. Highly recommend for anyone in the area!

We were welcomed to the cultural center with the smell of warm coconut bread and the smiles of Audrey and her team. It was truly fascinating to learn about the unique culture and traditions of the Garifunas people : their history, how they came to the island, how they make the cassava bread and the gifiti, how their communities evolved in Central America and the States. We concluded our visit with a delicious meal on the pier : a soul-soothing fish soup made with coconut milk and served with plantain dumplings and a zesty conch ceviche. A must stop for everyone who wants to learn about the cultural richness of Roatan!

Such a special place. Audrey was a wonderful curator and so obviously proud to share her culture, history and dreams for the future. Her sister and Carol added so much to the experience. The fish soup was the best I’ve ever had!

This centre was incredibly informative. We stopped by randomly as we were driving through Punta Gorda and were greeted by Nora and Audrey. They gave a tour of the centre and we got to sit down with them to learn about the history of the Garifuna people. We also got a sample of the Gifiti drink. I highly recommend stopping by, and if you are in town for longer the special events and programming look amazing.

On the water and great service with a local favor. The menu is small but the food and drinks are made with love and care. Parking in front and they have their own dock with a palapa that makes you feel like you really are in the center of it all. We talked the cook into making our dinner of the menu. Customer service is excellent
