Even with window closed in the room I could see light through the gap and hear traffic. Hot food at breakfast was very mediocre. Evening food was a lottery and not a great range unless you liked burgers. Cheapest pint was £5 unless the football was on. Set up like a sports bar really, lots of big screens. Gym seemed popular, lots of people coming in just to use that.

Really nice hotel with a decent bar/restaurant. Rooms were nice but could have been cleaner. Had some signs of possible historic damp and cups looked dusty. Large TV, comfy bed and respectable bathroom. Reasonable rates, fair prices at the restaurant and staff were very helpful and friendly.

Arrived late in the day having been severely disappointed with the original place I was meant to be staying for a spa experience. The staff couldn’t have done more to help me out, they were kind, polite and got myself and my friends checked into two, spacious and comfortable rooms next door to one another swiftly. The decor is modern and rooms are very clean, food in the bar area was amazing and the facilities are great too. Everything about our stay was fabulous but I’d have to say the staff are just so helpful I think they deserve a second mention! Thank you Village Bury, I’ll definitely be back.

Generally, it is quite a good hotel, conveniently located for those travelling via M62. Staff is very helpful and friendly, there is also a nice restaurant and large car park. I removed one star from the overall score as the room was very cold when I arrived, and it took a while to warm it up. The receptionist was really helpful and even offered me another room, but luckily, the things have been sorted out. I would consider this hotel again if I were in the area.

Hotel was really good but the bar staff were incredible, Aliyah, Sophia and Sophie at the bar area were superb and so welcoming, they really made the stay so warm and welcoming! I would highly recommend staying here just on the fact how well your treated by the bar staff!

First experience of going to a gym and we met Sophie who advised us in person of all the different opportunities at the gym. Thanks to Sophie, she gave me the confidence to join and made me feel happy that this was something I could do for me. Since then, and due to Sophie's kindness and understanding with such a polite manner, I have now recommended her and the gym to my family members and others who have now joined. Always smiling, welcoming and approachable. Thanks so much Sophie x

I had a booking for this hotel for about 2/3 weeks and after doing a 12 hour shift and driving to get there for 2.5 hours, I got there at 11:30 at which point they told me that they had overbooked. They told me I had to book a travel lodge as all the rooms were full. As to why they couldn’t call me beforehand, there was no good reason. I got to the travel lodge and the lady at the desk told me that if I booked 8 minutes later, they wouldn’t have been able to accept my booking. That room was not nice and the bathroom didn’t feel clean. I had the village booked for two nights after that, at which point I had to speak to managers twice, I was never approached to resolve what had happened. The first time, I called ahead of arriving to make sure that I had my booking. They did not care about me having to book another hotel the night before that was significantly worse. He wanted to get off the phone as quickly as possible. He even wanted to charge me for a no show fee and acted like he was doing me a favour for cancelling it. When I got there, he checked me in and wanted to get onto the next customer. He didn’t mention anything about compensation until I brought it up, to which the response was that they will get back to me. The second time, they told me that they would resolve the issue before I left and said that they would email me the next day. They did not. I guess my compensation is that they did not charge me extra for not showing up. On top of that, the barbecue wings suck and are not worth the calories of eating them.

This establishment can only be described as an absolute cesspit. Despite receiving an email promising a free joining fee, my decision to bring my wife and daughter for a day pass turned into a costly disappointment. Upon arrival, we were unexpectedly charged £58 for a mere one-hour swimming session. Eager to begin our aquatic adventure, we headed straight to the family changing rooms. However, what greeted us was an overpowering stench of urine and floors littered with tissue, hair, and various unidentifiable substances adorning the walls. The attached pictures fail to capture the full extent of the repulsiveness due to the presence of other users, but they are sufficient evidence of the abhorrent conditions. Holes in the walls, collapsed drains, and the unmistakable presence of bodily fluids suggest neglect and a lack of proper maintenance. These are not mere water marks or stains; they are remnants of DNA left to fester within the walls for an extended period. My wife ventured into the female changing rooms with our daughter, while I made my way to the male section. To our dismay, my wife encountered an 11/12-year-old boy freely roaming the premises as his mother changed. This blatant disregard for privacy and security is deeply concerning. Finally, when we managed to enter the pool itself, we were met with what can only be described as an ice bath. The discomfort was unbearable, prompting us to cut short our visit. On our way out, we voiced our dissatisfaction to the young receptionist, only to be met with a dismissive "ok" in response. In conclusion, this establishment falls far short of acceptable standards. Its deplorable conditions, lack of professionalism, and disregard for customer experience make it a place to avoid at all costs.

Had a night stay here for fathers Day, had a lovely stay, rooms are clean, and beds are comfortable nice addition with the fan in the room. Breakfast was nice, plenty to choose from. Staff are friendly and will definitely stay again in the future.

This hotel is more the standard of a Travelodge, but want to charge Marriott prices! Rooms The room left a lot to be desired, the room was full of dust, questionable whether it had even been cleaned. The carpets were filthy with rips and holes in, the bathroom was tiny had to enter and close the door before being able to use the toilet!! Forget trying to wash your hair with the limited pressure from the shower! The room was so hot on one of the hottest weekends, no air conditioning, only a smal Dyson fan full of dust and does not turn or powerful for the room... As for food from the Bar, perhaps walk next door to the pub your experience would be better, our food was terrible for the prices to the extent we did not eat it and just let the food! Breakfast another story - limited food options available, which consisted of burnt bacon and sausage sat in oil, there is no hot options for vegetarians apart from Egg!... No fruit provided as an option, staff stood around chatting when clearly the continental breakfast options needed to be replenished, no bread for toast or butter Was really disappointed in the overall experience and stay when paying £120 for one night!

Attended a function to discover there was a free bar, so visited reception to see if any rooms were available at a reasonable rate. Tracie sorted us out and couldn't do enough for us, the night staff were equally helpful in assisting us find our room in a state of merriness early the following morning. Bar staff were great, room was tidy, a brilliant time.

Stayed two night here with work, room was a bit shoddy (broken blinds, wallpaper ripped etc etc). Nothing on the menu was available both nights leaving us with burgers only or starve. "No delivery" was the excuse given... Not good enough really. Other than that the facilities are good and staff friendly

Room wasn't clean (bathroom floor was sticky and there was bits on the floor), it was quite a warm day and the room was very hot - very difficult to cool down. Check-in is self served and no one was at the desk at the time to ask questions. There was one point where our key stopped working and we went down to get sorted. Thankfully there was someone at the desk that could help, however they didn't ask for any identification before giving us a key to the room we told them - doesnt feel very safe. As it was hot we had to have the window open and there was a lot of people talking outside in the middle of the night. The only positive is access to the gym and swimming pool...

This was a sinle night stay, I thought the hotel was quite a trendy place with lovely bar and a resident starbucks cafe. Rooms very good and service efficient.the gym was great and the swimming pool fantastic. What wasn't so good was the food menu which didn't have any traditional or varied menu items..range of beers was good but I paid for the car park as the machine in reception indicated you had yo pay £5 over 4 hrs, my collageue didn't, whether he'll get a fine I'm not sure but this wasn't explained at checking in so if I have paid over the odds not happy.

Not 100% happy with this place. Basic hotels have to do 3 things well. Clean room, comfy bed and decent curtains that blackout the room so you can get a restful night. All the rest are trimmings. When I checked in to this hotel, I was allocated a room that hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests. Automated check in so no staff available. The new room was clean, the bed was comfy, but the room had blinds which weren't in perfect and didn't block out the morning light. Come on!!! Get the basics right Company charged £135 for the night for something no better than a Travelodge.

Paid for a room so we could get changed & store our things whilst setting up the venue for my nieces 18th birthday party. The staff behind the bar & the gentleman providing security were very friendly & professional. No complaints from us what so ever. The room was a perfect size for the party but unfortunately the lift was broken & this made it difficult for the elderly folks at the party to climb the stairs for the bathroom amenities. Also, checking in was a self checkin on an iPad which is difficult for the elderly. I was extremely happy with the Starbucks located at the entrance but very disappointed with having to haul heavy music equipment for the DJ up & down stairs! The room was a little on the small side but all in all it was a great experience

Stayed here for the weekend with my mum, first our room was gross and dirty and mums bed was literally like sleeping on a park bench! We spoke to the girl on reception who offered us free drinks from Starbucks!! I said that’s not going to help her sleep tonight though is it , she completely forgot about the drinks and changed our room, can’t fault her on that apart from we did book a room with a walk in shower due to mums disability but they couldn’t provide us one. New room just as unclean for the price we paid but beds r clean and comfy in this one. Paid another five quid to use pool and spa but it was nice . Over all the price is a bit over rated and parking should be free for guests too.

Went last last to one the the party nights. Had a small issue and spoke to claire who was working. Not sure her job role, maybe guest relations? She was brilliant and sorted everything out. Friendly, smiling, helpful. Brilliant member of staff

Front of Hotel staff were really great and friendly. Bar staff also friendly and efficient. No hot water in room, was hotel wide issue over a couple of days, not enough light in bathroom to put on makeup, lift lights were perfect for this though, and a hole under the windowsill but radiators nice and hot which made up for this, although bright light shone through onto sleeping area. Can't ask for help without downloading an app or going to reception. Would choose another hotel in future, due to these issues, so not installing another app. Great location though for easy and quick trip into great Bury nightlife, so worth considering for this reason.

I w.ant to say the village gym is really good. We go to the gym and I would like to say that Connor the pt is amazing works 200% each time I have a session my son 💙 loves his private session with him as sometimes teen gym doesn't go ahead. Please reward this young man as he goes out of his way for his clients. Now his is on his own and he even cares about families as he is covered for children so no need to worry about your children going in the session. Thank you so much.

Staff very friendly. Rooms are decent. Don't be surprised if you get welcomed by bottles of bear outside and mass parties. Gym decent as well as pool.

Although the Motivation suit is in desperate need of decoration, Alison and Claire were brilliant today. Nothing was too much trouble for them and Alison looked after us most of the day and she was brilliant. Thank you so much ladies. Steve and the Swim team.

3 night stay for work, bed comfortable and overall average experience. Gym facilities are good but as they are open to non hotel users very busy at peak times. Room maintenance lacking with stains on carpets and mouldy shower heads, generally looking tired. Evening meals were good but breakfast was a very poor selection of hot and cold food plus I had to ask for a mug every morning to have a brew, the pub over the road offers an unlimited breakfast cheaper with a wider selection of food. My room rate also included access to sky tv; however this wasn’t working and when queried with staff was told it was temperamental - don’t advertise something that doesn’t work!

Great location and friendly staff, but that's where the positives end! Room smelt of stale tobacco that it seems someone tried to cover with air freshener. Cleanliness not great especially around fixtures and fittings. Room and bathroom very dark, not a lot of lighting. Bed was so low down I was almost on the floor! Left early at 05:30, gave up trying to sleep with the smell of the room and the noise coming from the corridor. Won't be staying again.

Me and my fiance stayed here and we really liked it for sure. We was looking for a place to stay near to the Arcade Club, and this was it. I do think the place is for those who drive though. but this is no issue for me. We came back around 11pm ish. The bar looks wonderful and cosy indeed. But we went straight to our rooms. I did wake up a few times due to noisy people next door. The breakfast was a great thing too, the staff was very helpful. Stay blessed and FREE.

Nice tidy clean room. The girl who checked me in was attractive and friendly. Lol. Was very clean which is a big thing for me. Car parking was plentiful but you have to pay for it. The drink and food was good. Nothing I could say against the quality but the price was a little on the expensive side. All in I really enjoyed my stay and would visit again

We didn't stay here as we live locally. We decided to try it for Sunday lunch, bad decision. Firstly it resembles a snack bar not somewhere to eat Sunday lunch, secondly only one choice of meat beef which we dislike. Thirdly the alternative menu choice was poor, to say the least. The food quality was not good when compared with other local pubs offering Sunday lunch. My advice would be to find an another place to eat even if you're staying there.

Room is a 3* room. Very similar to Travelodge. The only difference is that there was a nice Dyson fan. There is a pool and a gym although the pool was very busy as it is open to the public and there was children's swimming lessons happening at the Time. Sauna and Steam room are nice. Place isn't worth it at full price although as I got it at a discounted rate it was worth it.

Nice looking hotel and room, friendly staff. Pool is very nice and bar is good. Let down by dusty rooms, not properly cleaned. Side units and by wardrobe, see photos. Fan spewed out dust and filled the room. Lack of air conditioning. Noise insulation is poor, can hear people walking around in room above and slamming of doors everywhere. Towel radiator seems to be out of test date. Toilet roll holder falling off. Room 140. Just general maintenance issues, maybe a remnant of covid? Finally lack of phone! Who wants to use a chat app when talking to hotel reception downstairs?

Went this weekend 26/03 for my birthday and the staff where very helpful and friendly. My boyfriend had some flowers delivered for me when we turned up and they made sure they where in the room when we got there and they gave me a bottle of wine for my birthday. Amazing place and amazing staff. Kathryn and Kevin

Room size is large and comfortable. Unlucky that they don't have a fridge inside the room. For house keeping, they did come every day but obviously they did not clean the shower space. The food and drinks at the grill restaurant is excellent.

I was there as a photographer for an event so I didn't spend the night or book a room. The hall was spacious and the event went spectacular but there was no air conditioning and the hotel staff had only one person serving drinks so people kept complaining about how hot it was and how long it took to buy a drink. Sorry to put a negative review but that's the feedback I got from people who attended the event. I hope the hotel reads this review and gets the air conditioning fixed. More bar staff means you sell more drinks and make more money
